Hey, playing Hazama is harder than it looks. Just from what I've seen from the distinguishing from other characters fighting styles gives me the understanding that Hazama is very tricky to use right.
@Spazkid15 Your completely right, hazama relies very heavily on being "fancy". That is to say, his regular ground combos won't really get you any where, you have to focus on almost always somehow working your way into a launch, then following with ourabouros, aerial C spam and the heel drop. Positioning is also a huge deal, your combos will change completely based on where you and your opponent are. He's high tier, but is learning curve is quite large in comparison to other characters.
hazama is hard and im still a noob stuck on mission 6..thing is i cant switch my character now im too used to him im going to keep practicing...especially those first few combos here

@Sasukecup Not only PSP and 3DS, also PS3 and XBox have it as well. For PS3 and XBox it's a free patch but you have to pay for the DLC characters: Valkenhayn, Makoto, and Platinum.

@HammamBakr I do hate BBCS2 with Hazama as they broke SO many of his BnB Combos. But Many still work if your good with foot work, making a enemy attack and counting with his 624D C tends to work well.
@moonguy456 hazama was the first guy i used when cs came out. but when i played him compare to everyone else i think hes the easiest person. i can only use him and tager. though i dont have the game anymore but i considered that i was pretty good hazama player.
Just glancing at the comments below, and a lot of it has to do with beginner/pro BS. If I may say so, Hazama is NOT for beginners. Even if you can do his combos, it won't do much good in the long run. Hazama's strength in the game comes from the fact that he is extremely versatile and can fight every character without being disadvantaged, but to be able to use this factor requires a very intricate understanding of all the characters, not just Hazama. He should be learned last to be reliable.
@killaomarking Tager is simple. To sum up how to beat Tager, you only need 3 things. 1) Patience 2) Patience 3) More Patience. To beat a good Tager you have to wait for a proper opening and keep an eye on his volt gauge. If it is up just wait until he blows it and be ready to block it when he does (better if you can dodge it). However, Hazama CAN be a bit more aggressive against Tager because his Drive combos allow him to get in and out, just be sure it connects before going in range.

@CrossMeteor Send Kaqn or Zakiyama an invite, he'll trash you with Ragna. Ragna is easily predictable so they gave him a bit more damage for his punishes, if he really causes a problem for you in a versus match than you are just bad. Valk does far more damage and has much higher stun rate.
I don't care if you think I'm pro. I know that I'm not the best Hazama. I thank people like the author of the vid cause people like him help people like you, CrewBackstage.
PD: I want to add to my comment that I didn't say that I have problems with Ragna, I said that Ragna is a character for begginers and when the begginers play with Ragna they think that they are the most pro player. Strong character, good and easy combos and very good Distortions if you know how to make combos.

Damn man that's an impressive flurry of slicey diceyness. Though do you have any advice on how to best approach an opponent without ouroboros I fear it gets a bit predictable and I get punished for it in the end but dashing in tends to get me hammered.

Do you think it's easier to perform DD's and AH's with the joystick or controller? Cause I use the controller cause I can't find a joystick in stores lol and I can only perfecxt using the Serpent's Infernal Rapture DD and that's that, I can't do the Eternal Coils of the Dragon Serpent let alone his AH. and it's a pain cause I love Hazama he's my favorite character and I hate how he isn't me absolute best character

Not going to lie; I'm trying to learn Hazama; but I'll always be a Hakumen a heart....... That is why 4:37 almost made me kill myself (just knowing that that could happen).
It was the first BlazBlue combo video I've watched, good job. =)
However, it could use some fancy editing and synchro. Also, many combos do not have delay for blue Zaneiga and 5C's second hit. Even disregarding dash after blue Zaneiga.
@baluone87 I miss guilty gear, before guilty gear overture came out D'=. Even still, there are no replacements for hazama in guilty gear unfortunately, so the only reason id choose blazblue over guilty gear is because hazama and hellsing.
i were so happy first when i saw some footage and gameplay of it because the familier look and the awesome moves and stuff but i guess iam not that good in it or i dont like the main chars, but its because of the fakt maybe that they are different games but a HD title and that nice 2D mashin against other online and so was enough to bought it! heres another combo. this was one of other ones that i forgot. 5d, d, b, 23c, 214d, c, c, 2c, 214 d, b, cancel after hit. 4d, 63236 d, cancel, jump, 6 d, d, b, c, 2c, 4d, a, 4d, d, (ccccc, ccccc) 214 b. yeah that was another one i made up.
What irks me is that I suck at doing double-quarter-cricles, so doing the 236236B Distortion drive constantly is a challenge for me lol... But it seems pretty necessary for a lot of combos, so is there some kind of trick to pulling those off...?
@FireBomby There really is no trick. On a D-pad they're fairly easy to pull off and it just takes practice but I don't touch an arcade stick for Blazblue because pulling off a quarter circle is nightmarish. For his distortion the two motions for Serpent's Eternal Rapture (above mentioned distortion) are pretty steady, just a half-second between each motion (not as strict as it seems).
Honestly once you adjust to the lag it's not so bad, hell Tekken 6 I was playing way better Online then Offline cuz i was so adjusted to the slight delay. As for Hazama being tough he is and isn't. Like his general moveset and combo's are nothing to sneeze about, it'll take like 10 minutes to get down. Where the difficulty lies in using him against other players, His game is predictable, so he's alot of tricking the opponent, but he's rewarding too at the same time, when you smash face XD.
@Hollowless Well the challenge mode is great for him, my biggest advice is to practice A LOT with him, especially the ground-to-air combos, they are his greatest priority. Once you learn to do that combo without looking at the command list for challenge mode, try it in practice against a fighting computor until it is like second nature. Learning when and where to use his drive takes time too.
@beening Alright thanks bro, I'll keep that in mind. I've already learned how to do most of those combos, it's just I can't use them against the computer/other players, I feel hesitated/ panicked. lol
@Hollowless That is the hardest part, but when you can calmly do them on the COM it should help you be more confident in doing it. For me, with Hazama, Ragna, and Rachel (among a few others) their combos are nearly second-nature, I could almost do them blind-folded.
@Hollowless I use both stick and controller. The combos didn't really take me that long to learn, but to master them and pull them consistently in matches is what will take time. So just a lot of practice is all you need. :)
@HammamBakr same here man i use a controller and i always pull all the combos off even online never had a problem. though i never really got to get a joystick nor i really dont get to use one because its so hard to find a arcade that has fighting games like street fighter and blazblue. plus the arcades i went so far they use american joysticks most likely than japanese. i figured japanese joysticks seem way better because it seems like u get a better grip
@HammamBakr I am not a hazama user as I prefer jin and ragna, but my little bro want's to learn how to chain all those C attacks in the air after serpents benediction. Any tips? He insists on using hazama even though he is awesome with jin (could you believe a 7 year old could pull a 10+ hit combo with jin without spamming C,A, or any cheap shot?) so could you give me some tips so I can show him?
@7kiku7honda7japan If you mean the 10 hits aerial attack then just need practice to get used to it. After you chain 4D(D) depends on the height of your opponent you have to start pressing C attacks. The second C attack has a mini stun and fifth attack has a longer stun. So in the air you do Cx5 then jump cancel then another Cx5 into j.214B.

yeah i just wanted to say that hazama was my basically my first character i used and i thought he was really easy because the combos kinda seem like mvc to me but idk but i didnt know that this character was hard to play as. when i play online i do big combos and never really fail. i even made up combos of my own but didnt put it on youtube yet but yeah im just talking. hazama will always be my character on bb
@mature942 I kinda gave up on online playing to be honest. I only play against locals and even that I find my Hazama is so scrub compared to offline matches. I'm interested to know what kind of combos you came up with. Mind if you can PM the inputs? Just would like to see if there's anything I'm missing.

5d,d, b,5b, 2-3 c, 2-4 d, c, 5c, 2c, 4d, 63236 d, cancel when the enemy is on the other side and is about to hit the ground then jump 6d, d,b, 5c, 2c, the rapture kick, then wait for the opponent to fall then do 4d and press a 3 times in a row then go into d. to follow up the attack and do the c juggles into knock down kick. i dont know if someone pulled that off but i did it online before

@FerBushido Litchi and Noel and pretty much all of the characters do the same combos again and again. It's about how you utilize the character and be able to combo of anything you land or punish.
This is a great tuturial as i am a good hazama player myself but you could beat me any day with these, but i noticed that doing this in real life is hard because i play versus on hell difficulty. the cpu moves alot and it sometimes is hard to do these combosin in an actual game and im sure human players would just be as hard. have you tried these combos in an acual game situation?
@weedgrass233 You would be surprised with the kinda of combos I can pull during actual matches. I can pull these easily almost all of the time and I do other combos that I came up with from rapid cancels and so but I haven't included in this video. :)

@beening I have uploaded this long time ago using the PC version, so I used Fraps to capture the video. However, for the console version I'm using Hauppauge HD PVR and Blackmagic Intensity Pro to record videos from PS3.
It shows how many times you'll be able to lunge towards the end chain of Ouroboros. The set amount is 2, and the counter resets to 2 if Hazama's drive connects with the enemy.
623D in one solid sweeping motion (similar to Ragna's Inferno Divider).
Takes a bit of practice, but if you want some tips, the move is actually much easier to pull off in the D-pad compared to the analog (if your playing a gamepad), and much more easier when done in a smooth stick.
@Tri3dgE027 I'm not much of a huge understander of the BlazBlue commands. Whats 623? I know what D means of course, but when the numbers come in, I get confused. xD
Refers to the directions of the stick, for example saying 3 is to say pushing the stick to the lower right.
On Hungry Coil, the motion is 623D (or simply forward, down, down-forward). Make sure though that you'll not accidentally go 5 (neutral position), otherwise Hazama will just do his other move (forward-lunging strike)
How do you use the Ouroboros to throw them? I'm sure it is the skill that tosses the Ourobors diagonally, but I can never understand how to do it because I can't read the directional buttons.
Sigh, I've played fighting games since i was a kid, but this is my first time playing a 2D game on a 360 controller. I'm having the hardest time of my life trying to do hazama combo's on the analog that the 360 has jesus its difficult.
best fighting game characters ever in my oppinon 1 ryu, 2 ragna, 3 hazama, 4 chun li, 5 vega or balrog, 6 scorpion, 7 jill valentine, 8 venom guilty gear, 9 hakumen, v- 13/nu. those are my top ten. it is really hard to pick my favorite fighter because their are so many great fighting games . i just love capcom and aksis games, their are the best game company ever and hopefully i can be able to work with them in the future.
This character is by far my favorite to use. It's so much fun to be able to slingshot myself around the arena.
One combo i've found helped a lot is during combos like 2:15, instead of using the 10C+214D combo I instead grab my opponent midair and throw him. It seems to do slightly more damage and most of the time my opponent isn't expecting me to use a throw.
Anyone knows there a mmo call lost saga that you can actually play as this guy?

@CrossMeteor Send Kaqn or Zakiyama an invite, he'll trash you with Ragna. Ragna is easily predictable so they gave him a bit more damage for his punishes, if he really causes a problem for you in a versus match than you are just bad. Valk does far more damage and has much higher stun rate.

PD: I want to add to my comment that I didn't say that I have problems with Ragna, I said that Ragna is a character for begginers and when the begginers play with Ragna they think that they are the most pro player. Strong character, good and easy combos and very good Distortions if you know how to make combos.

Damn man that's an impressive flurry of slicey diceyness. Though do you have any advice on how to best approach an opponent without ouroboros I fear it gets a bit predictable and I get punished for it in the end but dashing in tends to get me hammered.

Do you think it's easier to perform DD's and AH's with the joystick or controller? Cause I use the controller cause I can't find a joystick in stores lol and I can only perfecxt using the Serpent's Infernal Rapture DD and that's that, I can't do the Eternal Coils of the Dragon Serpent let alone his AH. and it's a pain cause I love Hazama he's my favorite character and I hate how he isn't me absolute best character

Tibbz2Tibbz, if it was counter/enemy was crouching/delayed A, then you can combo into 2A, 5B, 3C, 214D~A (delayed), dash, 5C (2), 2C, 623D/4D -> 214B#
Does not works every single time, though.

It was the first BlazBlue combo video I've watched, good job. =)
However, it could use some fancy editing and synchro. Also, many combos do not have delay for blue Zaneiga and 5C's second hit. Even disregarding dash after blue Zaneiga.

@baluone87 I miss guilty gear, before guilty gear overture came out D'=. Even still, there are no replacements for hazama in guilty gear unfortunately, so the only reason id choose blazblue over guilty gear is because hazama and hellsing.

What irks me is that I suck at doing double-quarter-cricles, so doing the 236236B Distortion drive constantly is a challenge for me lol... But it seems pretty necessary for a lot of combos, so is there some kind of trick to pulling those off...?

@FireBomby There really is no trick. On a D-pad they're fairly easy to pull off and it just takes practice but I don't touch an arcade stick for Blazblue because pulling off a quarter circle is nightmarish. For his distortion the two motions for Serpent's Eternal Rapture (above mentioned distortion) are pretty steady, just a half-second between each motion (not as strict as it seems).

Honestly once you adjust to the lag it's not so bad, hell Tekken 6 I was playing way better Online then Offline cuz i was so adjusted to the slight delay. As for Hazama being tough he is and isn't. Like his general moveset and combo's are nothing to sneeze about, it'll take like 10 minutes to get down. Where the difficulty lies in using him against other players, His game is predictable, so he's alot of tricking the opponent, but he's rewarding too at the same time, when you smash face XD.

@Hollowless Well the challenge mode is great for him, my biggest advice is to practice A LOT with him, especially the ground-to-air combos, they are his greatest priority. Once you learn to do that combo without looking at the command list for challenge mode, try it in practice against a fighting computor until it is like second nature. Learning when and where to use his drive takes time too.

@Hollowless That is the hardest part, but when you can calmly do them on the COM it should help you be more confident in doing it. For me, with Hazama, Ragna, and Rachel (among a few others) their combos are nearly second-nature, I could almost do them blind-folded.

@Hollowless I use both stick and controller. The combos didn't really take me that long to learn, but to master them and pull them consistently in matches is what will take time. So just a lot of practice is all you need. :)

@HammamBakr same here man i use a controller and i always pull all the combos off even online never had a problem. though i never really got to get a joystick nor i really dont get to use one because its so hard to find a arcade that has fighting games like street fighter and blazblue. plus the arcades i went so far they use american joysticks most likely than japanese. i figured japanese joysticks seem way better because it seems like u get a better grip

@HammamBakr I am not a hazama user as I prefer jin and ragna, but my little bro want's to learn how to chain all those C attacks in the air after serpents benediction. Any tips? He insists on using hazama even though he is awesome with jin (could you believe a 7 year old could pull a 10+ hit combo with jin without spamming C,A, or any cheap shot?) so could you give me some tips so I can show him?

@7kiku7honda7japan If you mean the 10 hits aerial attack then just need practice to get used to it. After you chain 4D(D) depends on the height of your opponent you have to start pressing C attacks. The second C attack has a mini stun and fifth attack has a longer stun. So in the air you do Cx5 then jump cancel then another Cx5 into j.214B.
P.S. Glad to know your 7 years old bro has some potential, should be an amazing player in the future. :)

yeah i just wanted to say that hazama was my basically my first character i used and i thought he was really easy because the combos kinda seem like mvc to me but idk but i didnt know that this character was hard to play as. when i play online i do big combos and never really fail. i even made up combos of my own but didnt put it on youtube yet but yeah im just talking. hazama will always be my character on bb

@mature942 I kinda gave up on online playing to be honest. I only play against locals and even that I find my Hazama is so scrub compared to offline matches. I'm interested to know what kind of combos you came up with. Mind if you can PM the inputs? Just would like to see if there's anything I'm missing.
P.S. There are many other combos that I haven't included in this video, so feel free to PM all the combos that come to your mind. :)

5d,d, b,5b, 2-3 c, 2-4 d, c, 5c, 2c, 4d, 63236 d, cancel when the enemy is on the other side and is about to hit the ground then jump 6d, d,b, 5c, 2c, the rapture kick, then wait for the opponent to fall then do 4d and press a 3 times in a row then go into d. to follow up the attack and do the c juggles into knock down kick. i dont know if someone pulled that off but i did it online before

This is a great tuturial as i am a good hazama player myself but you could beat me any day with these, but i noticed that doing this in real life is hard because i play versus on hell difficulty. the cpu moves alot and it sometimes is hard to do these combosin in an actual game and im sure human players would just be as hard. have you tried these combos in an acual game situation?

@beening I have uploaded this long time ago using the PC version, so I used Fraps to capture the video. However, for the console version I'm using Hauppauge HD PVR and Blackmagic Intensity Pro to record videos from PS3.

It shows how many times you'll be able to lunge towards the end chain of Ouroboros. The set amount is 2, and the counter resets to 2 if Hazama's drive connects with the enemy.

Just input in:
623D in one solid sweeping motion (similar to Ragna's Inferno Divider).
Takes a bit of practice, but if you want some tips, the move is actually much easier to pull off in the D-pad compared to the analog (if your playing a gamepad), and much more easier when done in a smooth stick.

Refers to the directions of the stick, for example saying 3 is to say pushing the stick to the lower right.
On Hungry Coil, the motion is 623D (or simply forward, down, down-forward). Make sure though that you'll not accidentally go 5 (neutral position), otherwise Hazama will just do his other move (forward-lunging strike)

best fighting game characters ever in my oppinon 1 ryu, 2 ragna, 3 hazama, 4 chun li, 5 vega or balrog, 6 scorpion, 7 jill valentine, 8 venom guilty gear, 9 hakumen, v- 13/nu. those are my top ten. it is really hard to pick my favorite fighter because their are so many great fighting games . i just love capcom and aksis games, their are the best game company ever and hopefully i can be able to work with them in the future.

This character is by far my favorite to use. It's so much fun to be able to slingshot myself around the arena.
One combo i've found helped a lot is during combos like 2:15, instead of using the 10C+214D combo I instead grab my opponent midair and throw him. It seems to do slightly more damage and most of the time my opponent isn't expecting me to use a throw.
