Pearl Jam is definitely one of the greatest bands ever in that their music never went into the dark void that pzpoppa mentioned. Their music has always reflected ways to stay out of that void thru the passing of their personal wisdom to everyone; that is rare these days. Besides Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam, everyone else from that grunge era that were extremely successful have either been plagued by drugs or suicide. Pearl Jam is definitely a group of wise elders who still give inspiration.

@ForceRecon198 i concur. some of thses songs eddie sings he is sometime almost in tears. because of the true meaning and story that is behind the lyrics. when i mean story i dont mean the docummented story that is told. look at eddie sing yellow ledbetter from him in his early days. you can hear in his voice the tugging of tears and you can also find some videos of him mumbling through the songs because of the emotions. rather the emotion is happy or sad does not matter. you are spot on.
