hey people, read the title - "setting up a home studio", don't just blow ya nose out of the blue; a280281 should see some of Aaron's vids and take lessons. This guy is the greatest of all teachers I know of!!! Aaron, don't give up - most of these people are just nuts!!!! go work and earn money...
i came here to find out how to connect up outboard effects to my set up...instead i got a video of some guy bragging about how much he's spent on equipment ????
Hey whats up hows it going? I was wondering if you can please stop by my videos and give me your opinion about my original song. Thanks it means alot!
Is this supposed to be advice for setting up a home studio? Crazy. His ProTools argument is a bandwagon argument, and is therefore not credible. When will people learn, it's not the tools... it's the carpenter. Have to say, this is not a helpful video.
@miscible21 ...agreed...not a very helpful video...i think it really depends on how the producer/user/carpenter makes their song. When i have an idea for a song but how no idea how it'll sound, i go straight to Live and mess around with arangements (which is thankfully a breeze)...whatever, i'm moving off topic :P ....pro tools is just one of those things where you need to know how to use it but by no means are you forced to use it for your music production process...
@djaz007 ...my advice...use Protools just as a place to reconstruct the song track by track (pretty much like freezing tracks) and dump it all in a protools session so that if you needed to explain the structure to a Protools geek, they'd understand it better
Buy compuer than download everything you need for free. Download ProTools don't buy it, why would anyone buy something that can take for free. . .and take some cheaper equipment. Learn, learn, learn and you'll sound like a pro.
I don't buy into what this guy is saying. As an acoustic musician (cello), the most important element is PLAYING WELL. There is no substitute for practice and a well maintained cello. 2nd is good mics and preamps. 3rd is a good space to record. The DAW is the smallest part.
Why pick Pro tools Le over Logic or Cubase that can run with any audio interface and have a hell of a lot more plugins sounds for producers and just more Audio and Midi tracks get with the times all new software has multitrack export and omf files support so you can take your work to any studio no matter what they use

This is for someone who can afford a high end home studio setup! Not very helpful for the average person.
