@MRRY0703 YOU ARE REALLY REALLY LUCKY TO PERSONALLY KNOW HIM AT LEAST IN SOME CAPACITY....I still can't believe that he did not become a huge movie star either in films or television or both.
It wasn't in the video I uploaded. And I uploaded it several times. Each time, the audio fell behind the video. Maybe I should upload a version with lower resolution?
perhaps dave draper's first real role in hollywood films....unfortunate that he didn't make as many films as schwarzenegger who some say shouldn't have beat him at the mr. olympia
Actually, he had a much bigger role in "Don't Make Waves," which was several years earlier. This clip is his ENTIRE role in "Lord Love a Duck." Which, by the way, I can't make heard or tails out of. The nearest I can come to making any sense of it is, it's basically the same idea as "Heathers."
@genericgeorge thanks. mr. draper is of course HUGE and OVERPOWERING in LORD LOVE A DUCK but he is not supermanly ripped and sensuous the way he is only a year later you say??? in DON'T MAKE WAVES.
@ronwelker8 Draper was big alright easpecially when standing next to Macdowell and The Monkees, but compared to Buddy Ebson and Max Baer he looked rather average. They are big guys though.
@genericgeorge max baer is of course the son of the big guy who wrestled with the bull in the 1950's film QUO VADIS.............. and I guess buddy epson was pretty tall too...................... I think the blond bomber is 6'2" if I am not mistaken?
@ronwelker8 He was ahead of his time it seems. I thought he looked bigger in both the Beverly Hillbillies episode andDon't make Waves. Also. he was extremely handsome, huge, blond with good smile. He knew how to use his muscles.
@ronwelker8 He was bigger in Don't Make Waves. I love the way he delivered his lines...."Get out. out!" and also loved him caliing the guy pencil neck...didn't know they used the term back then. Draper not only had a massivley muscular body, but he had great blond hair and all-American good looks.
mature years.....as proven by the more recent interview he did with the great bill pearl. i STILL cannot believe that he did not become a major movie star of international films.
@bobparis it is unbelieveable that i did not notice before now one of the greatest mr.universe's to have ever lived is athye writer here.......both of you should have been mr.olympia's .....i recently looked for your books at indigo but it appears that they are only on line .... i wish i could buy paper copies of your books....you seem to be as intellectual as dave draper is. i am totally in awe of both of you
This is some real comedy. Dave could have give Roddy McDowell a dozen free shots and he would have laughed at how much it tickled.

Draper should have beat Arnold at the Olympia

I used to work out at Dave's gym in Santa Cruz. He's almost big in the early 90's as he was in this film.
