  • Nice fake commercial, by the plates you see its from Potsdam/Germany.

But good made. Next time change plates.

  • 400ci motor with only 180HP and 320FT-LBS of torque.. So fucking terrible.

  • @OldboySaint In it's day it was great. How much torque do these Civic shitboxes put out?

  • @OldboySaint whats terrible about that? plenty of torque and fun as hell to drive but if that isn't enough you can always buy the bandit edition from year one it will rape any modern pos.

  • @Lumotaku Comparing the fact that my 1967 318ci motor put out stock 190HP and 340FT-LBS torque, The mid 70's were shit in performance.

  • Nicely done. Cute. The Firebird logo needs some serious detailing, though.

  • how did they do this?

  • seats four comfortably...BULL!!!

  • @Iceman2692 ya no shit..but back in high school we made the back seat work..lol

  • @johhnyo lol back seat works for me

  • fake commercial....

  • they lied the back seats in theses cars suck lol

  • @18dotson Agreed, and they still suck in the Third Generations. My friends hate being bitch and getting back seat. :P

    Basically an extended trunk.

  • its obvious someone made this..but they did a good job, i dont understand why people state obvious facts by saying "fake!"...just appreciate it for what it is

  • Hah, look at the wheel at 0:34

  • What was this? Shake scoops are such much cooler. T/A 6.6 with shaker ftmfw.

  • "Pontiac announces the beginning of tomorrow..." Well, tomorrow looks like sh*t!

  • Nice T/A, but please get some T/A Radials or at least scrub those cooper Cobra's clean will ya?

  • @ENCO12357 That's not a Trans Am, it's a Formula.

  • @DevastationFilms Ya, your right. But by 1978 they all performed about the same.

  • Audio stolen from a real commercial. Dude, you are so lame for making this video.

  • Looks like the tire is wobbling bad in one part of the video.

  • The audio is from a earlier commercial. In 1978 there was no cold air intake. Those tire didnt come on a 78 firebird. They would have a model driving the car not a middle aged man with a recieding hair line. Also it wouldnt have real plates on the car. The audio is from an old commercial. The video is recent. It is not a real commercial.

  • The audio is from the '70 Firebird commercial. There was definitely no Ram Air option in 1978 and that year's Formula could be ordered with either the 301 or the two 400s from the Trans Am in 49 states - in California the engines were a Chevy 305 or Olds 403.

The 1978 Firebird ad featured a Firebird logo going up in flames and revealing a Trans Am,. And that year's slogan was "1978, Pontiac's Best Year Yet"

  • I like at the end of this video how the guy forgot to clean the wax and dirt from around the Firebird emblem. Pure CLASS. LOL

  • It seats four passengers in their own seats!

  • This does not look like a commercial from that time period. Look closely at the closeup of the side emblem and you'll see some dirt around it. also some slight blemishes on the paint you can see around it on the door and slightly above the front fender. Also the guy has somewhat short hair, is driving with one hand like he is taking a leasurely drive rather than with both hands, driving a sports car. and the picture is jittery. This is a freaking FAKE !!!! made today !!!!

  • that car is why there is a point of building a time machine ...

  • .......and it's plated.

  • yeah Potsdam!^^ Sehr Geil gemacht!

  • @PFB92 I noticed the tripod at :37-:39, the boots (or something) behind the driver's seat at :06-:08, the Elvis / Skeletor keychain at :10, The fact that the close up and pullout on the tire at :18 shows a scuffed, dirty letter tire along with the shadow of someone's head at the bottom of the frame, the misaligned trunk at :22, and the finale of the rust coming through under the emblem at the close... other than that, well done man! :-)

  • ...and no, this was not an official Pontiac commercial... note the cheap ass home movie tripod out the pass window behind the car at :37-:39. Not to mention the totally lame, less than car buying settings and scenery. A well cut together amateur piece just the same, but a "real" ad? ummmm, no.

  • @mjmcg omg you're soo smart did you come up with that on your own?

  • @SteelCity1981 no actually, your mother spotted while we were watching together in bed, Kudos to her great eye!

  • @mjmcg Wow, and what great intellect (you probably don't know what the word is) skills too you have. I see 5th grade was a challenge for you. I'm impressed that you even know how to get on a computer. They made them that easy these days that a jackass like you can get on them? I guess soo.

  • @SteelCity1981 don't quit your day job. Fortune telling is not your forte.

  • @mjmcg well i see common sense isn't yours.

  • No cd player in that car...those slots you're seeing are for the levers that controlled the heating and vents.

However had Pontiac done wind tunnel testing, they'd have learned that those scoops sit well below the 4 to 6 inches of dead air directly above the front of the hood... wasn't any air going anywhere through those scoops no matter how many time you "ordered" it LOL!

  • @mjmcg if you look at the dash at :46 there is definately an aftermarket cd player in there

  • @pdennis93 I have looked at every frame of this vid and all I see is (at :11) the two horizontal slots of the heater panel with the cig lighter immediately to their right, and at the spot you mention I don't see anything definitive, other than the presence of the original twin knobbed AM/FM cassette deck just above the little useless cutout for tossing change into at the head of the center console above the shift lever. I have all but stood on my head and used x-ray glasses, I see no CD player.

  • @mjmcg

you're looking too high. the stereo is down below the main part of the dash. there are no knobs on the deck. its definately a newer aftermarket cd player

  • @mjmcg

you can also see a clear shot of the aftermarket deck at 31

  • @pdennis93 My eyes must be seeing something different. In the space where the radio goes, I see a deck that looks to have some sort of knob on the left side and a cassette tape sticking about 1/2" out of the top middle. It's too unclear to identify it. I'll bet the poster didn't expect to get this much mileage out of this video! LOL! Oh well, whatever it turns out to be, I'm actually done caring at this point. Time to move on.

  • @mjmcg

i see what your saying about the knob. it looks like it's got 4 buttons rather than a knob. just because it has a knob does not make it modern. my 95 trans am has a jvc mp3 player from 2006 and it's got a knob on the left side for volume still.

  • i thought the modern looking driver was not from that era. now i want to see the real commercial damn it lol. but nice car. you selling it?

  • the key chain and the cd player gave it away ,but nicely done it looked professional otherwise:)

  • THIS THE REAL COMMERCIAL ALL 70'S PONTIAC'S CAME OUT DELCO AM/FM 8-TRACK STEREO WELL INTO THE EARLY 80'S OF THAT WAS AN OPTION AM/FM STEREO WAS A STAMDARD WHEN THE 81 THRU CAME OUT THE NOW AM/FM CASSETTE WAS A STANDARD

  • lol thers a keychain and a radio and wtf lol

  • The CD player also kind of gives it away...

  • @smitty98418 And the Cooper Cobra tires. lol

  • @smitty98418 Prototype ;) haha

  • uhh, yea with German plates and being driven in Germany. Piece of crap.

  • It obviously isn't a commercial not for strange eagle-eyed spots but simply because a) the smile in the description give it away and b) well, something very obvious such as THE PLATE. It's not that difficult! However it's a very nice car

  • Nice radio for 1978 this is not a real commercial the trunk lid is uneven. But good looing

  • "seats 4 people comfortably," & "each in his own seat," LOL!

  • it begins with scoops that scoop, brakes that brake, and mirrors that actually mirror.

  • @camaroman101 Tires that tire?

I like the "each in his own seat" ... because I hate cars that make me share my seat with two other people.

  • @camaroman101 Ha ha, classic....

  • I just watched a 1970 Firebird commercial, where the narrarator says.."Pontiac intruduces the begining of tommorrow..." just like he says in this commercial here. Whats up with that????

  • Awesome job man. Gotta love the song from that commercial. I also love the 80's Pontiac theme as well. Hell, I love everything Firebird!!!

  • haha nett gemacht! erst beim kennzeichen hab ich gemerkt, dass es fake ist

  • klasse :)
