  • @philkapune

There's lots of people wanting to get rich by striking the lottery after all.

  • Anyone know what the music at the end of this video is?

Excellent video btw, very obvious but easily overlook information.

  • Awesome Richard. It happened to me too and it is taking years to get it back. I will follow your lead.

  • if your at the top of the ladder with money, expand! never keep all the money.

  • I agree money doesn't buy happiness but I think happiness makes money. If you are happy and you are making other happy, money will come as long as the core remains. Basically what Richard said but I thought this way beforehand haha.

  • Money may not always buy happiness, but it sure can buy you either a big ass yacht or car and allow you to park really close to it! LOL!

  • St. John lists passion, work, focus, push, ideas, improvement, serving, and persistence as his 8 success principles for self-actualization. His initial graphic seemed to emphasize a step by step, sequential process to success. But, importantly, he concluded that success is not a sequential process, but a continuous journey involving all 8 principles everyday! Also, he learned that money does not buy happiness. Two good points, i think. When stuck, maybe a good vid to review for a spark.

  • Sponsored by Nokia. Their web spying technology for Iran's current regime reminds me of IBM equipping the Nazis with the necessary technology to organize the mass murder of civilists. And we keep buying their shit.

  • All cellphone companies have this service available in all countries, not only Iran. Support the revolution and all, but the fact that your trying to create a story over something thats been available most countries for many years just makes you look like an uninformed fool. Research > reporting, not the opposite.

  • You don't seem to understand the topic at all. Are you talking about normal cell phone services? Can you tell the difference between technology specifically built for dictators to spy on civilists and a system for people to talk to each other?

  • If only people would have the insight to abandon the normal use of systems that have near perfectly failed them for decades and either use them in reverse engineering-type ways, or run parallel systems. People vote once every few years, but their real political power is in how they direct their attention, activity, labor, language, and money. Such as an ETF that invested by shorting companies like Nokia without risking more than participants' principle. Educating, harming the Nokia's, & profits.

  • The animation at the end is fascinating. Reminds me of the conspiracy of the normals.

  • carebear alert ?

  • very possible carebear

  • that was very good nice n snappy!

  • meh. How to Keep on Valuably Contributing to the Machine.

  • the thing at the end was the effect of turning people on to ideas

  • So true....goin through this phase as well

  • hey i have the perfect cure, give me your money xD

  • same

  • wtf was at the end? i was expecting a timex or lexus ad.

  • Nokia ad.

  • stopping meds like that all of a sudden can be pretty dangerous

  • So they say...

  • What business or industry was this dude in ?

  • Why is this so highly rated?

The main point seems obvious and the talk itself was more about his life story than the actual "principles" and delivered by stick figures...

  • WEED > Prozac

  • Weed helped me fall in love with the world again.

  • The same for me

  • me too, funny & sad how cigarettes are totally legal but they absolutely do nothing for you except kill you slowly. weed helped me to see the world, and the life i have now in a good way filled with hope which i'd like to share to other people.

  • yes, weed indeed.

  • good one

  • Probably a commercial.

  • but for what?

  • Dunno what it's for, maybe for a TV or something? Reminds me of Sony Bravia. But I've noticed TED started putting commercials at the end. It's possible that it's a multi-part commercial, where you don't get to see the brand name until later commercials.

  • Or maybe, just -- art?

  • i love arts

  • Oh man, oh man, oh man. Now I wanna do some stuff and then do some more stuff until I get excited by new stuff.

  • awesome talk. got the point accross for sure.

  • Nice talk, short and to the point.

  • Prozac-PR?!

  • I'd also like to know what type of music that was at the end of the video...that was beautiful. Many thanks for any help.

  • Very cool. This is what happens to a lot of musicians and bands. eg. Metallica.

  • What a great talk!!!!!

  • prozac can cause severe insomnia and can make you slightly dissfunctional

  • Short but well presented.

  • "Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy Prozac!" haha, I'm gonna remember that one.

That was a good story. I'm glad he got off the drugs. They can help, but should usually be avoided if possible.

  • This is a really great TED Quickie!

  • what was that song at the end?

  • I Dont Like How He Talks :P

  • what's the music at the end?

  • absolutely amazing and well presented.

  • Good stuff!

  • A wise man once said "Eat shit and die."

I'm inclined to direct that quote towards you.

  • Why? There's not another comment that adds anything to the conversation, yours as well.

  • great talk!
