That sucks man, used to work with a guy that was a hardcore biker, rode everywhere. Got T-boned by some asshole that wasn't paying attention and lost a leg. Just means time to get a trike. Cellphone asshole should be buying you one.

i agree with you dude but i think if you couse a crash you should be held accountable no matter what ..cell phone ..lighting a smoke ..drinkin a coffee ..or anything ..i ride also dude and i know all about close calls ..i hope you get to ride once again ..please take care ok ..i have a softail standard wide glide and have some extra parts ..you are welcome to them ok .keep in touch ok ..

Right on I agree completely with stricter laws. My accident happened on june 6 2009 the guy wasnt on a cell phone but was backed out of his drive way and didnt look for traffic on the road. End result my leg hitting his bumper and breaking my tibia and fibula. Earlier that year tho i was rear ended by a guy talking on a cell phone hit me goin about 15 mph, Luckily I healed up quickly from the serious one and was able to get into the army.

ALMOST WAS REAR-ENDED BY SOME IDIOT IN AN AUDI. GET THIS...HE HAD A WINDOW CLING OF HIS FAMILY ON HIS WINDOW, HE & HIS WIFE& 3 KIDS. DIDN'T HESITATE TO REMIND HIM THAT HIS CALL ON THAT CELL ALMOST CAUSED HIM TO HIT ME & I HAVE NOBODY TO TAKE CARE OF MY KIDS BUT ME! I AM BEHIND YOU 100% LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN. Thanks for sharing the vid. I bet that asshole doesn't even think about what he has done to you anymore. I get so mad when I see people on their phones in the car - over here in Oz it's the poofy little penpushers or mum's with a carload of kids. I say (or rather yell) something just about everytime. My man is a biker and we have been almost hit so many times because people don't take notice.

My late Father was a Vet and a Biker , my Brother was a Marine for a short while a Biker, he was knocked off his pride and joy by a Pick Up in N.Y, he still has not fully recovered, does ride again. I became a retired USAF 20 yr. Vet, 13 years ago now living in the UK there are assholes on the phone while driving continuously...there is also a fine if they get caught, go figure! Your Not Alone, recover and be stay healthy, have faith in our God, Trust your Instincts you will Ride-Again! ; )

I would LOVE to look for motorcycles. I would LOVE to respect them. unfortunately there are some states like California where it's impossible. those assholes drive BETWEEN cars, BETWEEN lanes at 80mph. if they only obey the same rules I would respect them. I do not.

well, cali is one of the only states where it's still legal (I think) to lane split (leftover from the days when all bikes were air-cooled)

@vivid1234 Oh dear, the smoking wasnt aimed at anyone in particular, I do drive a car, I have two of them, I do lots of things but riding a motorcycle is also something I do, yes it is very dangerous but experience over years of riding improves my odds of survival, what I cant account for is driver not looking out for all traffic on the roads equally, nipping through gaps in traffic is only dangerous to the rider not you sitting in a metal box, you seem to have tunnel vision regarding this
