Just read the book last nite..GREAT I SUGGEST IT! And they added on A WHOLE BUNCH Of extra parts to the movie, and change up the details, probably to accommodate ther budget/level of interest for people. GREAT THO!

The funny thing is Thompson's hair Is basically military style during this period and the story is actually about him vacationing in puerto Rico. Drinking and writing. That's it. Take this Film with a grain of salt. The book is 204 Pgs long! Great read! Check it out before the movie. God speed!

But The Rum Diary is quite different. They shouldn't be compared. All they have in common is that they are based on facts from Thompson's life.
