Can someone explain to me why there's always that chain around the pipes?I never understood that.

@zirius89 a fast way of tightning it up. wrap a chain around it. chain gets pulled. and it tightens it to the joint below.

@rustyrulze i meant that the chain is used to screw the joint into the stump. the tongs are used to torque it up.
