  • The way it's always worked really quickly for me is, you know how you get that feeling, when you just stare at something, you're kind of zoned out, just staring? You're not "trying" to stare, it's looking at something but not really looking at it to look at it...just a tired stare...then it just happens.

  • he heeheeee that's freaking awesome. Wish there were more of these, I could watch them all day. I've always been able to see these things within seconds, my fiance gets so pissed cause he stares and stares and can't see it.

  • one person has something wrong with their television set

  • nice!

  • Why aren't there more of these? How are they made?

I'm a visual effect artist and totally confused. They're so neat.

  • @andros1984 -- I don't know why there aren't more... maybe not enough people can view them? Sad thought. I made these by making a greyscale depth map animation with Art of Illusion (but any 3D software package should be able to render as a depth map). Then I imported the depth map animation to 3DMiracle and turned it into a video. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • These are so much easier to watch than the "cross your eyes" videos.

  • Cool. It's been some years since I've seen the old "Magic Eye" stereograms, and I'm glad I can still pick out the image.

  • I love these, the only problem is they cant be colored, or else you dont get the cool effect, if only there was a way.

  • @11m4357r0 -- Thanks for the comments! :) I've only seen one guy make colored stereograms, but they are very impressive. Do a Google image search for "3dimka pink panther" (without the quotes) to see my favorite one.

  • I can only see stereograms sometimes, i saw this video and your oragami one. There so cool once you get '' in the zone'' :D It sucks cause i only saw this one once, and only a few still images.. i guess ill just keep trying, any moer tips !?

  • @Jaclynxmariex3 -- Thanks for the comment! Did you try the tips in the video description? My dad has the best luck by starting up close to the screen then slowly backing away while keeping his eyes unfocused. He pauses the video until he can see the stereogram, then clicks play.

  • It's just static?

  • @Gielinorian -- No, it's a hidden image stereogram. Check the video description for tips on viewing stereograms. If this is your first time trying to see stereograms, I'd recommend starting with still image stereograms. Just do a Google image search for stereogram and you'll find plenty. Good luck!

  • the floating head called my computer monitor a television set, dudes trippin!

  • @ibcrazysumtimes -- Ha ha! :P

  • he goes vertical when he says horizontal and horizontal when he says vertical

  • The original Outer Limits intro handled it better by starting with just a white dot, and for controlling the horizontal it changed its horizontal width to grow into a horizontal line. I guess it would have made more sense for me to copy that, and have him grow horizontally rather than shrink. Thanks for watching these, and commenting! :)

  • wait was that suppost to be a floating head? it creeps me out

  • cool

  • That face... Is it some kind of triangular cyclops-face? Looks like that to me.

  • @StickItMaster -- Yes, that's basically what it is. It's an alien head, but he looks kind of like an Eastern Island face combined with a talking strawberry. He does have two eyes, but they're small and look kind of like a mask. Thanks for watching!

  • A M A Z I N G !!!

  • @SMNH89 -- Thank you, I'm glad you could see it! :)

  • cool

  • I love this, even though it sent a fucking chill down my spine.

  • @matthew11174 -- Ha ha, thanks for the comment and sub! :) I know what you mean... I have yet to come across a creepier show intro.

  • WOAH hey man good job at this video :) subscribed...EPIC

  • @SuperLuigiGalaxy242 -- Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! :)

  • WHOA! EPIC

  • @EvilWeevil9 -- Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you could see it! :)

  • i saw it on full screen 22'' its awesome :D

  • could it be bad depth perception or something else but i cant see anything other than the fuz you see when a channel goes out on your tv

  • @chewylikesit -- Hmmm... did you try the 3 viewing tips in the video description? Also, if you are new to viewing stereograms, you might want to start with still image stereograms, as they are much easier to focus on. I like the gallery at hidden-3d(DOT)com/stereogram_gallery.php

  • Can't see it.

  • @TheMrBlinx -- In the video description, I put a few tips that might help to see stereograms. Do they help? If this is your first attempt to see stereograms, I'd suggest starting with still image stereograms, as they are easier. A nice gallery is at hidden-3d(DOT)com/stereogram_gallery.php

  • @ThePhantomChick I've done it often with still images, but never with a moving image (didn't even know they could do that). I'll try again. Thanks.

  • @TheMrBlinx Hey, it worked! Cool. Weird. :-)

  • That was fun. :)

  • @SporkingToast -- I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment. :)

  • way cool

  • @ZomBEEandJesus -- Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! :)

  • funny

  • @SOWHATIMADEIT -- Thank you! :)

  • Strange... this is actually easier to focus on than most stereograms I've seen.

  • @Tangent128 -- I'm glad you could see it! Thanks for the comment. :)

  • That was the coolest most coolest stereogram I've ever seen.

  • @dezzolution -- Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! :)

  • Thanks for the animation, ThePhantomChick!! ;-) It would be cool if you could add the voice of the narrator to have the explanations going along with the images =D

  • @Sylphadora -- I'm glad you liked the animation! You don't hear the narrator with this video? Do you hear any sound, or is this just a silent video? There might have been a YouTube error, but I hope it's corrected now.

  • The vertical line was horizontal and vice-versa...

  • @locouk --Thanks for watching & commenting! :)

I wasn't sure of the best way to do the horizontal and vertical bits. I think either way would be a little confusing.

The other way would demonstrate horizontal and vertical lines, but I decided on the way I did it, because I think it is better at showing his *control* over the horizontal/vertical since he is able to scale himself accordingly.

    Thanks again for watching!

  • I don't know why, but I have always seen the Stereogram from the inside out, as if I am inside looking out. It never appeared to be 3d outward to me. currious isn't it? It's like looking into the image in 3d or a hole or impression, but not out towards me in 3d .

  • @spellbinder00 -- Hmmm... it sounds like you're using the crosseye method to see stereograms, which would make these (and other parallel stereograms) appear inside out. If this is the case, try using the parallel method. Hopefully the two viewing tips I included in the video description will help.

Either way, you might want to check out YouTube user xyoureyes. He has a bunch of crosseye stereogram animations.

  • @ThePhantomChick Thank you for the tips :-)

  • @spellbinder00 ThePhantomChick is right. It happens because you are using the cross-eyed method. You're crossing your eyes in front of the screen, and you have to look through the screen and cross them behind it. In the beginning I could only see stereograms with the cross-eyed method, too. In my first stereogram book they didn't explain that there were two viewing methods, and it wasn't until I got more books that I learnt how to use the parallel method.

  • I seen my first stereogram 2 years ago and haven't seen another one until last tuesday. Now I look at them 24/7.

This is only my second animated video stereogram that ive seen (snowman was first) and man are they cool.

  • @KingCkcot -- Thank you, I'm glad you like (and can see) them! :)

  • I can't see a thing. There is nothing wrong with my LCD monitor. There is a missing connection in my brain.

  • @vectorNINEvector -- Bummer. :( Have you tried to see still image stereograms? They're easier to start with.

  • that was the first stereogram for me, that actually worked!

  • @yourleaderDrChaos - Cool, I'm glad you could see it! Welcome to the club of stereogram viewers. :)

  • Hahah, it's even lipsynced, isn't it?

  • Yes, good spotting! Thanks for subscribing. I'm glad you like these videos! :)

  • Very Nice! I've never seen animated stereograms. Its a trippy illusion, and one of my favorite old TV shows too!

  • Thanks! I agree that it's a trippy illusion -- and that partially inspired me to make this animation. I thought the black-and-white, kind of hard to see, and kind of creepy style fits with the flavor of the show.

  • That is really, really cool!

  • Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you liked it! :)

  • i didnt understand wat was happening until i turned the sound back on lol

  • Ha ha, yeah... this one definitely needs sound. Thanks for the nice comments and the subscribe!

  • Is the talking head an alien or sth?? Kinda cool. Real trailer~

  • It's an alien. Some other folks have said it looks like a talking strawberry. I guess they're right. Thanks for watching, and the nice comments! :)

  • Stunning!!! Thanks

  • I'm glad you liked it! :)

  • this is amazing.... i enjoyed this alot!

  • Neat effect but you have the vertical and horizontal reversed...................

  • Thanks for watching & commenting! :) I wasn't sure of the best way to do the horizontal and vertical bits.

The other way would demonstrate horizontal and vertical lines, but I decided on the way I did it, because I think it is better at showing his *control* over the horizontal/vertical since he is able to scale himself accordingly.

...and, I probably went into way too much detail in this comment. Thanks again for watching!

  • Starts off looking like a strawberry getting bigger and smaller, then changes shape a bit, then disappears, and finally the words "THE OUTER LIMITS"

  • thats easier to see than the others, i´d love it : )

  • Thanks for the comments! I'm glad you could see this one. :)

  • whow! nice

  • that was awesome. great work!

  • Great work! I wouldn't have thought that this also works with animation.

  • Thanks for commenting! I'm glad you liked it! :)

  • excellent choice for the audio:)

  • Thanks for the nice comments! The "There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust the picture" line was the inspiration for this one. :)

  • you control my screen......ah
