I'm not chinese but i do the same all the time when i go to eat pizza in my country but here in china you pay 200 rmb for one pizza well hello if you didnt do as her so either you are a money bag or you are an idiot.

i wouldn't say rudest. it's just that china is not so much affected by the western culture like almost the rest of the world - and being in a closed community would probably have the chinese make their own rules, and widen the cultural gap with the outer world.. and you never know what would they be saying with you walk around in your shorts and sandals which might be rude to them and just normal somewhere else ;)
