Good comparisons, global warming exists in a sense, but not so much in the way that Al Gore explains it. The Earth is a living thing, but people don't treat it as such, carbon monoxide doesn't help any living thing. However, the Sun continues to expand. At an early point in Earth's history it was covered largely by ice, but it wasn't pollutants that made the ice melt. When forests are destroyed and replaced by pavement it decreases the supply of oxygen, imagine how rich the air use to be.
