How's ya mama an dem? Funny, I never did call my grandma momo, but I do call my godfather paran. I was born and raised in Lafayette, moved to Atlanta. Boy I sure do miss home, especially during crawfish season.
Having been born on the Cajun Prairie (Eunice, LA) and hunted and fished on bayous until I was 20 years old, I can tell y'all that true Cajuns do not have a "red neck." We have brown necks, from the brown waters of the bayous.
We got white Cajuns and Black Cajuns.
We get along fairly well, except for the occasional Cajun Family Fight.
We know some of y'all got some other name for us Cajuns. That's all right, we got some other names for y'all too!!
I wish I was a guest at that wedding, great photo's. I do enjoy looking and listening to Cajun music, my regards to the Bride and Groom, good luck with the hunting.
I'm from Texas and the older I get the prouder I am of my southern heritage.I think that's an awesome way to get hitched!! You aint gonna see nothing like that up north!
Hello, ive never ment a cajun before, not trying ti be the ignorent side, but is it true that cajun poeple dont like blake people? i think that the acent is sooooooooooooooooo dam sexy.
No one can beat Louisiana when it comes to having fun. I love that I was born and raised here, and I hope I can go to college down here instead of out of state.
That's because they descended from the best! We Acadians who are still in Acadia are just like Cajuns minus the crawfish and alligators! We still know how to party like the best! Instead of Mardi Gras, we have "Le quinze août"! (15th of August) Which is our official yearly Acadian holiday that everyone gets drunk out of their minds, and pretty much anything goes! The main difference between us and Cajuns is that they have mostly stopped talking french as their first language.
thoes northerners can kiss my country/cajun ass!!! im 13 and the cajun is startin 2 come outta my voice, and i was born in Arkansas, but both my parents are from Louisiana!! and my step mom and step bro are from cananda and when ever they make a crack they think is funny bout southerners, i just wanna tell them 2 kiss my cajun/country ass!! :)
Mate can you tell me how to get a Cajun English accent? I'm European but I'm moving to the US in three years. Hopefully to Louisiana(Even if only for a year). I speak French if that's necessary. I think it's one of the best accents you can have. Europeans (I mean UK and Ireland-can't speak for anyone else)will love your accent if you ever come(normal American accents not so much though).
ok, im from Arkansas and BOTH my parents are from Louisiana soo iv had a country accent 4 a while and im currently 13 and its gone and u can hear the cajun in me when i talk now!! soo thoes northerners can kiss my cajun/country ass!!!! and my step mother and step bro are from Canada, and when they make cracks but southerners thts what i wanna tell them 2 just kiss my cajun/ country ass!!
I'm from Louisiana. People always make fun of our accents. All northern people can KISS MY COUNTRRYYY ASS. We are freakin awesome. And those kinds of weddings happen often down here.
Oh my word! Just when you thought you've seen everything...! I'm dying to go to LA for vacation looks very interesting to say the least... Well, cheers to the couple and many years of bayou bliss!
cajuns are NOT rednecks, it is a way of life, and unless you were born and raised here you could never understand, much less know what you have missed. Most do speak french and we are NOT like new orleans which is mostly creole. we call grandmothers momo and God fathers paran. We love our food, family and culture which is unique. No one else in the world can do it like a real kajun can. Why do you think everybody else tries to copy us? That's cause it's da best in da world cher
That's damn right. If there's one thing we know how to do it's to take care of our family. And we're damn good at dancin to. They don't call us ragin cajuns for nothin.
You just gotta love the South...so relaxed and laid-back. Dont listen to haters, a wedding is supposed to be one of the best thing in your life. So if you love hunting, hell have a hunthing theme wedding.
The best thing about this wedding is the wedding party can use their dresses again...and again....and again...every year during hunting season! Now that just makes good sense!!
I Acadian and let me tell you- this is great!!! I love the camo theme; it really worked well. That wedding looks like so much fun!!! That's how weddings should be!! Fantastic job!!! Good song too!!
This is so cool -- reminds me of Jeff Foxworthy's anecdote of his wife being from Louisiana & what happened at a rehearsal dinner at Hooters....looks like y'all had a lot of fun. It is so interesting to see the Acadian influence in our Maritime provinces (for eg) in Canada (where I am currently)....y'all in LA should come up here & check out y'all's cultural brothers & sisters.
My fam is Creole. My bro married a Cajun girl from Des Allemandes. When she got pregnant w/their 1st child, the families got together and threw her a baby shower that was a lot like this. It was a party like no other! Nobody knows how to throw a fais do-do like us Louisianians! I've lived in other places, there's no place I'd rather have been born and raised. South Louisiana will always be my home BY CHOICE.
I'm acadian from nova scotia and i love seeing my american ancestors having good times like this. i can't wait to go down there someday and spend some time with some good cajun people like the ones in this video
Remember- this is real Louisana culture, where tha roots are. if u live in louisana and ur skin is lighter than beige; then ur family is comin from tha yankee side of america.
