I watched for over 5 minutes so that I could see what was needed to take the protector foam out of the case, and of course that's the part you skipped.

Anyway, hope you enjoy your system. I went with no added peripherals, like a mouse, only went with a 40gb SSD for the Intel Smart Response, with 1 2tb HDD, and only went up to the Corsair 1050w PSU,so that I could up the graphics with a GTX 580 1.5GB. Otherwise, basically the same rig you have, but it'll be a week before I get it.

It's pretty easy to afford a good pc especially when you live at home with parents. Just save like $50 a week for a year and that's like $2600. But you really only need $1500 for a decent pc and monitor.

@Tehbestshot this computer is way too much machine for Skyrim. In no way would you have to spend anywhere near $3000 for that. For gaming, an i5 2500k is top of the line. Look for a 2500k, z68, nvidia 570 or ati 6850, something around that price point. 4 gigs of ram would be okay, 8 gigs of ram would be better. 750w power supply would be more than enough, 850w would last you many upgrades. Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, G.Skill, Kingston, HIS, Sapphire, EVGA are good name brands to look for.

@Tehbestshot The 2600k and 16 gigs of ram and SLI dual card is more focused towards making videos. Being able to record your game play without worrying about any slow down, being able to convert the fraps files to something more youtube friendly, etc, etc. If you aren't recording/rendering/transcodin­g, you don't need a 2600k or 16 gigs of ram or dual almost-top-of-the-line cards. You'll be able to get a very Skyrim friendly setup for $1500, even if you have to include a monitor.

If it had 8 cores, Intel would have said so. If you work at Intel or AMD, then never mind what I say, because I don't know much about processors at all. All i know is threads only help with rendering stuff, cores help with everything else... So if you want to count threads as cores, you might as well count bananas as apples.

Also, the 2600K has 8 threads, so 12 cores according to your logic.

@TheBornSniper nub i7 has reduced performance ingame bcz HT gets in the way i7 doesnt have 8 cores it has 4 cores like i5 the 4 extra cores you think it has are virtual cores which arent even 1% perform compared to a real core i7 slows down games unless u turn off hyper threading. It only helps programs like photoshop because that uses HT. If ur only a gamer and only c uself using ur pc for games the 2500k and 2600k are equal only u pay 100 more for HT that very few aps use so 2500k is the best
