The stimulus is no stimulus. It won't create long-term jobs. The only thing that creates long-term jobs is large-scale and wide-spread tax cuts on citizens and business. That reduces the bottom line and frees up what money supply exists for real spending. Infrastructure is good in that it creates short-term jobs with long term-results, but what happens to these areas that get a lot of money pumped into them which will disappear after 2 years? They will fall right back through the floor.

First FDR did NOT prolong the depression. We went from 25%unemployment to 14% until the war came. It was the conservatives under FDR that demanded less spending and FDR went along. You need to quit listening to conservative talking heads and learn the real truth. I know people who lived through that period and the WPA simply saved their lives and kept people from starving.

I think some of these "let it crash" people have little compassion for their countrymen. They may be under the mistaken belief that there are no consequences to this mantra that they promote. My gut tells me that they have never lived in a major city and seen homeless children and their mothers begging for change in the streets, elderly people scrounging for nickle deposit cans, or hundreds of adults living in subway tunnels. They don't know what they're asking for.

Nursing homes depend on Medicaid, take away medicaid these homes will close. Are conservatives going to take care of the elderly people in if they are forced to close the nursing homes?. States need help, if not given funding then teachers will lose their jobs. Is this what you want? You need to think this through.
