bunch of old guys that just don't wanna change with times. it's 2011 and all sentimentalities aside, overall the P Mauriat sounds a lot better. in a certain range i prefered the conn and i even have both myself BUT overall, even if u ask a non-musician the people that buy albums, they would all say P mauriat.
I agree-this was made when the Mauriat was basically brand new--now the sound has matured and is even better--see the test on the UL and Vintage Mauriats I put up
i like conn , sexy sax

Yes and maybe a bit more round as well--for a 'New' horn I think these have a lot of soul---

Excelent!. I have seen the UL and the vintage tests. I like better the UL sound. More profound sound IMO.

Hi:
where can I see the other tests?

Conn for me. I wish you had a Yanagisawa, Yamaha, and Cannonball in there just for fun.

Another vote for the New Wonder here. The Mauriat did come very close though. btw, I liked the sampling of St. Thomas. Great playing.

I agree nothing can beat the sound of the old Conn saxes but I think the Mauriat comes as close as any modern sax can come.....
