Hi, great video! I have two questions :

Do you know how to remove the googlecheckout from VIEWCART?

I have multiple items in the same page, and I created different buttons for each, but problem is : if I put them inside the same form box, all buttons put the same item, regarding of being different buttons on the page. OR, like I did, placed each button in a different form, it works correclty, BUT the shipping cost are not combined, means I add item A, and later item B, the shipping is duplicated

Thanks for the videos, I was able to create a reasonable site using your step by step guidance. However, when I embedd the shopping cart code in the page, following happens: a) The Qty is white in color b) Remove is not selected, c) If I continue shopping, old purchase is lost. Hello, please can you try and help me out. I am using the latest version of iWeb and everything about the shopping cart works absolutely fine on my website except for one thing.

When I go to change the currency from $ to £ it stays in $. I have changed the HTML code in the right place I believe but, it either says that the page doesn't work when you go to pay via paypal. If the page works then the currency is $.

Do you know whether there is anything I can do?

Hi i m having a problem with shopping cart!I would say that it hasn;t a memory and i'll explain what i mean by that! When you choose something to add to the cart it works but when you tick the option continue shopping and then again add something else to the cart the the item before that it's been disappeared! Thanks for the outstanding tutorial. Problem: when I add the script to stylize the shopping cart and allow my site to be seen behind the cart, I can no longer add more than 1 item to the cart. This was not the case before adding that script. Any ideas why this might happen?

Hey sampatmonica, thanks for your comment. Did you add it to the code view or did you add it to the design view. It needs to go in the code view. If it is still showing in the design view then it means there could be something wrong with the code. You can always send me the code to have a look. Let me know how you get on

Hey krishm666, thanks for your comment. All you need to do is delete it from the shopping cart section. When you open this in design view you will see the yellow dots, just click ton the merchant id one and that will take it out of the view cart section

Hey jyppino thanks for your comment. Have you checked the item number is not the same in both shoppingcartsh. If you look at those yellow dots you will find one called item number, make sure they are different on each cart otherwise you will get the problem you are having

Hey Osnypa, thanks for your email. If you want to align left,center,right then that can be done using the align tool in the properties. If you want to align something by lets say 10pixels then you might want to look into css as that will give you more power

Hey thrombox , thanks for your comment. I would say that is not possible because the actual window and graphics are not on the page they are taken from a link on fatfree cart. If you could get access to the code then yeh it is possible, but at the moment i can not see a way

Sorry to bug you with this question, but I can't tell from the example on fatfree's site. It looks like you can pay with credit card without having a paypal account, but in your tutorial it takes you to a page where you have to log into paypal to pay. Am I right that a customer can pay without a paypal account through paypal? Or am I being ridiculous?

Hey sonnybrown, first things you can never bug me so feel free to ask as many questions as you like. The customer should be able to pay by credit card as this is a normal paypal payment page. Let me know how you get on

also what if for some reason their server will stop working?? all websites based on their solution will stop as well (!!)

Hey krishm666, thanks for your comment. They are not silly questions in fact they are good questions. Using third party carts or images or things like that can always cause you a problem. The code i would say is safe, because all the code does is act a redirect to your paypal, it has no access to your password or any other information except your email address. Just think of it as a post office, all they are doing is collecting your customers letters and sending them to you.

I've been trying to find it for last 2 days but no luck. looks like it's some kind of secret knowledge :) found few nice open source carts but they all including full eCommerce system, but I need only simple, nice cart to be used with paypal.

Hey krishm666 thanks for your comment. If you want something like that then you need to look into those big os commerce sites and they can get really confusing. I have been looking for a week or so for a real basic cms option that has something like this, so far they are not that simple that a customer would be able to add information. This shopping cart would not be able to do that but what you could look into is mals shopping cart, do a search for it on google. this might allow that type of feature you are looking for. how come you where able to make a large Quantity when in your code you put the quantity as 1, will it stop you at some point and say for example: only one available?

In that section that is not the quantity that you have, that is what quantity do you want the customer to start at, so for example if you set it to 5 that means every time someone clciks buy it now it will put 5 in the shopping cart. If i have set to 1 then i can add as many in the shopping cart as i like

All works fine, but only on Firefox, not with a Internet Explorer 8: once User hit paypal button it takes to the actual log-in paypal page with my email typed-in in the Paypal ID field, it dosen't shows the option of creating the paypal account, with blank fields! (in Mozilla it does, ok)

Thank you for the promt response, actually i've figured it out - the fault was my Cookies! :) Silly, but i keep forget about this things, my computer recognize the paypal page and signing me in automatically with my info, So other computers dosen't see it, and after i cleared up my cookie settings, everything showing up ok, like it supposed to be.

Ali, In this video you skipped the box where you put in taxes. For internet shops if the buyer is in the same state you are in you are required to charge sales tax. How to you set it so that it only adds tax for the state you are in?

I would say that you could not do that with this shopping cart, you can add a tax value into that box and that will add it to the bill but to have multiple values it might not work. Have a look at another shopping cart called mals and see if that does it. Let me know how you get on.

Hey rainbowsnow7596, thanks for comment. You can make library elements on certain things to be able to change it on multiple pages. Another option is to use css as again you can change it on lots of pages or redo the graphic and call it the same name and that will change it on lots of pages. hope this helps
