  • Coastercarl is absolutely right. Stu Kerr as the Early Riser was on in my house every school day morning. I remember him so fondly as he went on to become Bozo and Professor Kool. I never knew what happened to him but I am very grateful to Coastercarl and YouTube for bringing him back for me even for a few moments. God Bless him. He was a heck of a guy!

  • Stu Kerr was the best. Watched The Early Riser every Morning. He went on as Bozo The Clown, and later Professer Kool. He worked very hard at wmar, only to be dismissed later. I had the pleasure to meet Him at MPT, and his personallity was outstanding. He told some wonderful stories, and was very pleased when I tols Him I remembered The Early Riser. Rest in Peace my Friend!

  • Remember 54 Space Corps?

  • Miss Rhea and Bozo/Professor Kool! Wonderful to see these 2 icons of Balto. children's tv again.

    Thanks!

  • Why block the number, especially since it comes up at the end anyway?

  • Ms. Shaw... Thanks so much for sharing, hon!

This was the MPT Pledge Drive on Friday night, August 24 into the wee, wee hours of Saturday morning, August 25, 1990.

A marathon of Nat 'King' Cole performances started-off with the Harry Belafonte narrated documentary entitled "Unforgettable" at 10:15pm. Then, 30-minute compilations of highlights from Nat's 1950's live NBC show (taken from the monochrome kinescopes) were shown all night long with pledge breaks in-between.

  • Good rest Stu Kerr and Ken Manelis...

(Two true gentlemen who passed long before their time. You are missed.)
