There album stuff is great, don't get me wrong, but their live performances just have much more of Jack and the bands emotion and noise to it. Far more powerful. One of my favourite tunes.
I did have an uncle that got shot, owned a rabbit that certainly hopped, my girlfriend sure as hell shops, now all i need is for her to buy a red Japanese tea pot.
WoW! Hell Yeah! Love The Raconteurs! Been listening to The Raconteurs, Hey You!, My Chemical Romance, Sick Puppies, No Doubt, and Blink-182....
Hey You! is still pretty new, but they're waaay dope. Pop/Rock/Punk with a real cool edge. Plus they've got a cute chick singer :-) .....check em out.....
@gunslinger6363 Well, who knows. It's hard to get noticed in the music industry these days. But all of these musicians have their own bands and have their own fan base.
@celeocanth The lyrics make sense if you understand the really complex meaning of this song. Bob Dylan is probably dancing in his house, seeing that he is alive and is a big fan of Jack White.
@celeocanth I can't sit and explain it very well at all, but if you google it some or find some forums, a lot of people believe it has to do with freemasons and stuff of that sort. I have a basic understanding of the song, but I can't begin to explain it without messing it up or confusing someone. So I guess if you want to know, search search search, if not, just enjoy the melodies and great music like a lot of people probably do haha.
nobody knows that this song is about freemasons? intimate secretary is a rank within freemasons, and all the imagery in the song has something to do with Freemasons.
jack has a lot of their images and symbols on his albums aswell, he wears a mason ring too....could explain his rise to fame, but it could just as well be his amazing sick freakish talent......and although jack has been my hero since i first heard him play, i always thought the Freemason stuff was questionable...song rocks though:P
With all the mass marketed bs that is forced into your ears these days, it's nice to know that Rock-n-Roll is still alive and well via this group of players!!!! The best band in years!
@bassmanmb4 And on the 8th day, the Lord created rock n roll and sayeth "Jack White shall leadeth the pack." And so he does. lol Hey man rock is far from dead and if you like these guys, there are a lot of good bands coming out from the Nashville area such as Cage the Elephant out of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
It may be me, but it seems like I'm alot of "Jack White is amazing" or "Jack White is god". And although he is incredible, and one of my idols, it's time I do this. Ladies and gentlemen....
The harmonies on this and the rhythm of it-- I think it reminds me of the Beatles' song Rain. They have great influences. Also: Jack White REALLY understands blues (real blues), which I respect him for so much.
He probably just enjoys getting to play music with his friends, no matter who they are. He obviously syncs with Meg and she fits her role in the white stripes, so he's fine with that. yeah, I saw the second album as the logical progression the band would take as a whole. This is my favorite song from their first album. It sounds like something that would've come out in the sixties. Unfortunately for me, I've seen these guys twice and they didn't play it either time. Nevertheless, awesome shows. Jack White and his projects saved rock n roll.
While I agree with you, I never understood why people think something being old might make it bad. I've heard this a lot lately and it kinda pisses me off. I don't think age plays any role in the quality of music. I listen to jazz from the 40's, modern rock and everything in between and find most all of it amazing and never thought about when it was created just that it was created.
I was talking about how old the live performance. People were saying that it sucks because it isn't a more recent concert. I'm "Area55smom" by the way lol
Okay maybe people weren't saying it sucks...I posted that comment a long while ago. I'm sure I meant even though its an old performance it is awesome. A lot of people think bands suck live when they start off. What I said had nothing to do with age. Zeppelin still rocks and they are old. I have no judgement on age.
I understand. I've just been hearing the phrase "it's old" referring to music in a very negative way a lot lately (even though I know yours wasn't negative) and I just don't get it and I guess after reading your comment I felt like going off on a little rant about it. Yeah Zep is awesome and I also listen artists like Charlie Parker who is an old jazz sax player from the 40's and early 50's so...rock on man!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
what's raw about that? i wouldn't be surprised if they went COMPLETELY emo in a next album. they've got the hair, the bland riffs, the loud shiny distortion, the horns, the shades of black... oh, of course, the warner contract...
That is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Loud, shiny distortion? COmpletely emo? THey are far from "emo." You can have your opinion, but it's pretty horrible and based on no fact.

This song is just fun to listen to. It's one of those tunes that always puts me in a good mood.
How come when you search "Intimate Secretary" nothing comes up, but it works when you just type "Intimate"? Damn Youtube.

Why is the crowd not moving?!
Such an awesome performance, how can they be still with them playing like that?

This is my favorite song from their first album. It sounds like something that would've come out in the sixties. Unfortunately for me, I've seen these guys twice and they didn't play it either time. Nevertheless, awesome shows. Jack White and his projects saved rock n roll.

And this ensemble magnificently continue to pump the oxygen to (what is) the heart of rock and roll music

Like many bands live, they are playing too fast, LOL, but I love this song.

muzo's do tend to like drugs, perhaps that explains it?

Maybe in some cases, but when I had a band I think it was more about the adrenaline and the nerves for us!
WilB1972 3 years ago
no, i heard that Jack White doesn't do any crap like that, beleive it or not.. he said so himself in an interview.. so glad for that

This is awesome, I don't care how old it is.

While I agree with you, I never understood why people think something being old might make it bad. I've heard this a lot lately and it kinda pisses me off. I don't think age plays any role in the quality of music. I listen to jazz from the 40's, modern rock and everything in between and find most all of it amazing and never thought about when it was created just that it was created.
phreak89 3 years ago
I was talking about how old the live performance. People were saying that it sucks because it isn't a more recent concert. I'm "Area55smom" by the way lol

Okay maybe people weren't saying it sucks...I posted that comment a long while ago. I'm sure I meant even though its an old performance it is awesome. A lot of people think bands suck live when they start off. What I said had nothing to do with age. Zeppelin still rocks and they are old. I have no judgement on age.
himynameischris15 3 years ago
I understand. I've just been hearing the phrase "it's old" referring to music in a very negative way a lot lately (even though I know yours wasn't negative) and I just don't get it and I guess after reading your comment I felt like going off on a little rant about it. Yeah Zep is awesome and I also listen artists like Charlie Parker who is an old jazz sax player from the 40's and early 50's so...rock on man!

i don't wanna piss anyone off, but i guess they should use a little less overdrive when playing live.
their new album, on the other hand, is too clean and shiny.
theonewiththecap 3 years ago
less overdrive? This sounds very good. And the new album is too clean and shiny? They use very good raw, great guitar on it.

what's raw about that? i wouldn't be surprised if they went COMPLETELY emo in a next album. they've got the hair, the bland riffs, the loud shiny distortion, the horns, the shades of black... oh, of course, the warner contract...
theonewiththecap 3 years ago
That is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Loud, shiny distortion? COmpletely emo? THey are far from "emo." You can have your opinion, but it's pretty horrible and based on no fact.
