  • Omagad Jack Lawrence can SING !

  • fuck yes!

  • Jack White, Les Claypool, Dave Grohl (Drums) and Tom Morello. I would kill for this to happen.

  • @MrSeaPanda

you could never have claypool in such a setup, because he's so huge by himself :) else cool setup :)

  • @petersktet Yeah that's true.

  • There album stuff is great, don't get me wrong, but their live performances just have much more of Jack and the bands emotion and noise to it. Far more powerful. One of my favourite tunes.

  • I did have an uncle that got shot, owned a rabbit that certainly hopped, my girlfriend sure as hell shops, now all i need is for her to buy a red Japanese tea pot.

  • saying this feels like blasphemy, but damn... jack looks pretty good in blue

  • @gunslinger6363 Well, who knows. It's hard to get noticed in the music industry these days. But all of these musicians have their own bands and have their own fan base.

  • @gunslinger6363 If you were in this band , I might give a shit what you think .

  • @gunslinger6363 stupid stupid boy

  • i got a rabbit it likes to hop...i got a pen but i lost the top...

bob dylan must be shaking in his grave

  • @celeocanth The lyrics make sense if you understand the really complex meaning of this song. Bob Dylan is probably dancing in his house, seeing that he is alive and is a big fan of Jack White.

  • @ak1nney

lol i was waiting for the first person to tell me that dylan wasn't dead. what is the complex meaning to the song, anyway?

  • @celeocanth I can't sit and explain it very well at all, but if you google it some or find some forums, a lot of people believe it has to do with freemasons and stuff of that sort. I have a basic understanding of the song, but I can't begin to explain it without messing it up or confusing someone. So I guess if you want to know, search search search, if not, just enjoy the melodies and great music like a lot of people probably do haha.

  • @celeocanth bob dylans alive, this is great!

  • i got a girl, she like to shag.....

  • @bartoszyoo That doesn't rhyme at all.

  • Too good to believe!

  • @BabyyaaLesiaaa69 No. Now get the fuck out.

  • I thought they were going to do a cover of "only women bleed" at first (first time I heard this tune).

    Awesome track though.

  • No, we're not an intimate secretary.

  • Thats a mint tune!!! What a rush!!

  • jack is so cool!!! i thinck that he's the new rock star, before them was kurt cobain

  • 2:31 I want this to come across as straight as possible. LOOK AT THE ASS ON THAT MAN!

  • jack white got it! the Raconteurs got it!!

  • Brendan gets hugs from Jack. Why don't I?

  • they are the new beatles

  • @lyla40s Don't be stupid. They're not the new anything, they're completely new. If anyone is the new Beatles... it's Weezer, haha

  • @lyla40s If they keep making albums like they have been, you may not be too far off

  • I got a girl and she likes to shop.

  • nobody knows that this song is about freemasons? intimate secretary is a rank within freemasons, and all the imagery in the song has something to do with Freemasons.

jack has a lot of their images and symbols on his albums aswell, he wears a mason ring too....could explain his rise to fame, but it could just as well be his amazing sick freakish talent......and although jack has been my hero since i first heard him play, i always thought the Freemason stuff was questionable...song rocks though:P

  • I've got so many things you haven't got

  • The raconteurs live = Better than sex

  • Wow,great live camera work!!!, am i rght or what?

  • which 6 dufuses disliked this?

  • didn't notice how off the chain the drumming is til now. phwoar. is there any way in which this band is not awesome?! seriously.

  • "I've got a pen but I lost the top"... happens to me all the time

  • i wanna mary lj!!!

  • Nice Jack butt shot at 2:29....

  • @heket789 Oh Yes!

  • @heket789 haha that camera operator was a woman xD

  • I got a rabbit it likes to shop, i got a girl and she likes to hop!

  • Where can I see these guys live at? LOL I AM DYING to see them live, and when is their new album coming out? LOL

  • hell yea! dean fertita on keys!

  • "I got an uncle but he got shot" Holy crap.

  • Love this!

  • With all the mass marketed bs that is forced into your ears these days, it's nice to know that Rock-n-Roll is still alive and well via this group of players!!!! The best band in years!

  • @bassmanmb4 And on the 8th day, the Lord created rock n roll and sayeth "Jack White shall leadeth the pack." And so he does. lol Hey man rock is far from dead and if you like these guys, there are a lot of good bands coming out from the Nashville area such as Cage the Elephant out of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

  • This is by far Jack White's best band so far.

  • Actually sounds like the studio cut enough to understand it. Rare for JW. Good live cut.

  • this reminds me of a jane's addiction video a while back

  • ***I'm seeing alot of Jack White..."***

  • It may be me, but it seems like I'm alot of "Jack White is amazing" or "Jack White is god". And although he is incredible, and one of my idols, it's time I do this. Ladies and gentlemen....

    Brendan Benson.

  • Reminds me of the beatles.

  • @joshkaSSS1

I was thinking the same thing!

  • alright best raconteur live version ever Im A Jack White fan but awsome all and out

  • Love the "horror" lighting...

  • I wish I was Brendan Benson at the end of this vid.

  • @Hellfire2120 I wish I was Jack White at the end of this

  • love the lyrics!

  • nice, although I'd prefer brendon to be more vocal than the bassist..that fucking solo was some animal shit though...fucking jack eh!!!

  • this song is great jack white is so original

  • underpuka this is my second favorite afeter consoler of the lonely please give me it, Thanks

  • their best song

  • Do you have a pen? Because I have one, but I lost the top.

  • i got a rabbit it likes to hop

  • Does anyone know where i can get an MP3 version of this?

  • iTunes?

  • @SATNAV123456 sirieus you even can't figure that out on your own?

  • i have this on mp3

if you want i give via msn

  • beemp3

  • i have this

    d you want it?

  • @underpuka YES, PLEASE

  • As good as Consolers of the Lonely is, there is no way it can match Broken Boy Soldiers (with all due respect)

  • tosh

  • This has to be the tightest band in the world. Pure genius.

  • what kind of guitar is brendan benson playing?

  • It's a Guild Aristrocat I think.

  • gretsch

  • no I looked it up. It is a guild aristocrat. on higer quality videos you can even see that it says guild on the headstock.

  • This is... utterly mindblowing. Amazing

  • THE Raconteurs = THE GOD

  • great performance!

  • This Rocks!!

  • Haha, I thought Keeler was just going to run away with that song. So much energy.

  • Jack Whites' vocals are so good in this. and that fucking solo, amazing!

  • Song of the night. The Raconteurs, Intimate Secretary.

  • what a first show....

  • better than the album version, more rockin, and the jack white guitar solo in the middle is incredible addition.

  • I FUCKIN AGREE WITH YOU

  • @bgerch23 Agreed, I love the solo on this live version.

  • Clay is awesome!

  • this song is fucking amazing.

  • The harmonies on this and the rhythm of it-- I think it reminds me of the Beatles' song Rain. They have great influences. Also: Jack White REALLY understands blues (real blues), which I respect him for so much.

  • (Blue Veins is a great blues.)

  • Oh hell yeah.

  • 100% agree

  • I love the lyrics and the experiential feeling of this song. Great stuff from one of the best songwriting partnerships these days.

  • love jack's jacket.

    THEY ARE FUCKING AMAAAAAZING. :))))

  • BTW Jack can't help but blow anybody away he is on stage with...even the likes of Mick Jagger!!!

lol He just can't help it....he is on fire

  • lol i love 'he is on fire'

    mick jagger is awesome.

so is jack though :D lots and lots

actually so is brendan and lil jack and patrick... all of em haha

  • AND Dean! I love the thing with the old electric organhe plays :)

  • This is surely a good one thanks

  • Q buena banda!

  • Mad solos jack:)

  • Meg isn't Jack's sister.

But yes, you are very right.

  • He probably just enjoys getting to play music with his friends, no matter who they are. He obviously syncs with Meg and she fits her role in the white stripes, so he's fine with that. The Raconteurs do other things, and he enjoys it. The couple songs he did with Beck must have been fun, his song with Alicia Keys was an experience no doubt, and now the Dead Weather will allow him to do more with his music. He loves playing music, and he appreciates the people he works with, so fans should too.

  • freaking awesome! and meg is a good drummer. she has role that some people just don't understand. its a detroit simple grunge sound.

  • You have no idea what her purpose is then. The tribal beat. Without her simple beats, the white stripes would never be. Sometimes simple things are more than meet the eye. Dig deeper.

  • this is awesome.

  • I bet Jack appreciates being able to play with a good drummer for once.

  • The white strips had a good drummer. She was not the best but she was good. She did simple beats that helped Jack for years. She is a better drummer than what you will ever be.

  • Typical counter argument from a butthurt fanboy.

She sucks, get the fuck over it.

  • And where are your videos of you playing the drum on tour as a huge rock band?

  • Ah, so another butt hurt fanboy is angry? What a surprise.

  • You aren't making a good point by using 'butthurt'.

Just makes you seem like a /b/tard.

    Which you might be.

  • Am /b/tard. Am not trying to make good points.

    I'm a troll. lolwoops.

  • She's not technically good. But she helps makes the minimalist sound of the White Stripes what it is.

  • I'm sure she plays more technical stuff when she's not drumming for jack, lets face it, she's been drumming for years so she must have picked something up

  • Yeah, that's what kinda gets me. I'm sure she's gotten to be quite the drummer, since she's been playing for like, over 10 years now.

  • he probably also appereciates playing a good guitar and having a bassist while he's at the raconteurs are his overindulgence

  • this is amzing! it's like 50000000 times better then the album version ( wich was like, awesome.)

  • I love the broken boy soilder era raconteurs, I don't know about consoler era raconteurs

  • thats the triple jet before the copper shielding!!!!

  • The solo made my face tingle >:O awesome.. .XD

  • The drummer is fantastic, I remember seeing him in the Greenhornes supporting The White Stripes,

and I remeber thinking how good he was back then!

  • Isn't' he just .Very disticntive style.

  • Yeah, I saw the Greenhornes open for the stripes in 05 and I just stared at patrick amazed the whole time. I had no idea who they were at the time.

  • hehe

  • Wow, I saw them at the 9:30 club in D.C., and they were AMAZING!!! I'm sorta glad Jack got more intruments because he can experiment more with the effects of another guitar and the bass, as well as keyboards and everything else he uses in these albums. Just props to everyone accociated with The White Stripes and The Raconteurs.

  • these guys are awesome

  • Second album is better, but first album is better live.

  • The Firsr Album broken boy solider i think jack sounds just like robert plant. But the fackt theres more Brendan is good. I like Jack white but i also like brendan alot so the fact hes getting alittle more spotlight is good because hes got alot of talent hes no jack but he does have alot of talant

  • I love both records, what I liked least about the second album though, was the horn arrangement, they seemed to drown out the guitar on some songs. Don't get me wrong, I love the album, but the horns bug me.

I need the suit Jack is wearing in this.

  • i wish they were still this good.

    second album woefully dissapointed me

  • Are you serious? The second album is equally if not better. You have to give it a fair amount of listens. But everyone has their opinion.

  • definatly, yea i listend to the second with high hopes but the songwriting isnt as good, theres too much brendan, its too long with too many "filler" track, and most importanlty its lost its original 70's vibe, its not a raconteurs record anymore, its too zeppliny and sounds nothing like there first album, its recorded with fancy expensive equipment when the first jack used lots of his old shit guitars etc that he had aquired over the years, right from pre white stripes days

  • and the new one is all expensive modern equipment and production, the beautiful synth lines like the studio version of this are gone, its too guitar oriented, and too focused at being a "rock" record, and conforming to the restraints of a rock record, its alot more marketable than the first, and alot more radion friendly, also jacks lost the plot since icky thump and now puts stupid trumpets and crap on his records, the 5onthe5 i saw on the BBS tour was much better than the final song

  • I'm not sure where you are getting your information. But it was recorded the same way as BBS but in a studio. ANd this is actually more truely a raconteurs record. THe first one Jack and Brendan wrote then got Jack Lawrence and Patrick Keeler to join in on. THis one they wrote while together on tour and after all their styles had melted. Jack's still usuing the same guitars and effects and everything. Besides a trumpet on like a few songs, it's just a regular Jack White recorded album.

  • yeah, I saw the second album as the logical progression the band would take as a whole. I loved this album but still considered the Raconteurs a side project, and didnt really care if they did another one. I actually liked the second Raconteurs album more than Blue Orchid or Icky Thump though and now I kind of see the Stripes as the secondary group. They both still kick all kinds of ass though.

  • indierickenbacker? more like, indiedouchebag. shut up, no one cares about your stupid little rant.

  • And they didn't make this record to market it to anyone, if you know stuff about the band... they recorded the album and put it out two weeks after it was finished so that the fans could have it. No promotion or anything. Your facts and stuff on this band and album are really far off. I respect your opinion tho.

  • oh i know about the no pre-release, but as a whole its alot more radio friendly, salute your solution getting heavy radio play etc, and actually relating to the guitars, on BBS jack used the old crestwood hollowbody (used on TWS) for most of the guitar work, now he has the copper custom gretsch, he still uses the old silvertones but he has got ALOT more effects pedals, he now overuses the digitech whammy and zvex tremolo probe, and respect to pat and LJ but this was meant to be a Jack and Brend

  • thing, either way i dont like the second album, ive gone off jack white as the last WS album was also poor and completly off topic for him, but you cant honestly say the two are similar, and the second has the gems and individualistic ideosincraties of white and bensons personality that reflected in BBS.

  • @indierickenbacker I disagree, respectfully. I think both albums were great, Brendan is the better singer, hope to God a third album comes out.

  • @indierickenbacker

lost it's "70's vibe" but too "Zeppliny"???!! Make up your fucking mind. Anyway, this rocks!!!

  • This song is just fun to listen to. It's one of those tunes that always puts me in a good mood.

How come when you search "Intimate Secretary" nothing comes up, but it works when you just type "Intimate"? Damn Youtube.

  • Yeah I don't get it, I can never find my videos!

  • Why is the crowd not moving?!

Such an awesome performance, how can they be still with them playing like that?

  • This is my favorite song from their first album. It sounds like something that would've come out in the sixties. Unfortunately for me, I've seen these guys twice and they didn't play it either time. Nevertheless, awesome shows. Jack White and his projects saved rock n roll.

  • And this ensemble magnificently continue to pump the oxygen to (what is) the heart of rock and roll music

  • yes my fantasy is that you will piss the fuck off the raconteurs video !!!!

  • Turn up Jack's Guitar!

    Anyway, awesome video though!

  • OMFG

i can hear little jacks voice

  • :o

    AMAZING.

Definintely my favorite live video of them.

  • TURN JACK UP

  • Lil Jack's microphone is too loud, lol

    Love it anyways <3

  • Like many bands live, they are playing too fast, LOL, but I love this song.

  • muzo's do tend to like drugs, perhaps that explains it?

  • Maybe in some cases, but when I had a band I think it was more about the adrenaline and the nerves for us!

  • no, i heard that Jack White doesn't do any crap like that, beleive it or not.. he said so himself in an interview.. so glad for that

  • This is awesome, I don't care how old it is.

  • While I agree with you, I never understood why people think something being old might make it bad. I've heard this a lot lately and it kinda pisses me off. I don't think age plays any role in the quality of music. I listen to jazz from the 40's, modern rock and everything in between and find most all of it amazing and never thought about when it was created just that it was created.

  • I was talking about how old the live performance. People were saying that it sucks because it isn't a more recent concert. I'm "Area55smom" by the way lol

  • Okay maybe people weren't saying it sucks...I posted that comment a long while ago. I'm sure I meant even though its an old performance it is awesome. A lot of people think bands suck live when they start off. What I said had nothing to do with age. Zeppelin still rocks and they are old. I have no judgement on age.

  • I understand. I've just been hearing the phrase "it's old" referring to music in a very negative way a lot lately (even though I know yours wasn't negative) and I just don't get it and I guess after reading your comment I felt like going off on a little rant about it. Yeah Zep is awesome and I also listen artists like Charlie Parker who is an old jazz sax player from the 40's and early 50's so...rock on man!

  • i don't wanna piss anyone off, but i guess they should use a little less overdrive when playing live.

their new album, on the other hand, is too clean and shiny.

  • less overdrive? This sounds very good. And the new album is too clean and shiny? They use very good raw, great guitar on it.

  • That is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Loud, shiny distortion? COmpletely emo? THey are far from "emo." You can have your opinion, but it's pretty horrible and based on no fact.
