i really dont know why non-(at-least-semi-professiona­l)-guitarists take part in this competition when they always get outplayed by lightyears by guys like the one in this video. Of course its awsome and sounds godlike but if this went further we would be having holdsworth competing in video guitar competition with a guitar effect as the first prize after a couple of years.

Marco care to give me any pointers as to how to solo like this? Do you memorize shapes? Do you need to watch out for "avoid notes?" After being a human juke-box for 4 years just playing other peoples songs, it's hard for me to grasp improvisation.
