You're doing it wrong, you don't eat the shell of that sorry excuse of a Filipino dish called balut. What you do is savor the meat and eat the duckling bit by bit by adding salt and vinegar to it. If you eat it whole, you're gonna gag. But I do agree though, it's still a piece of shit dish and only savages would find it acceptable.
