  • I edited this track some, put it into the music folder on the pc version of fallout 3 and its eerie as all hell.

  • the vocals in the back are the melody to the song. just sayin'.

  • This is fucking beautiful.

  • I just noticed that someone is singing quietly in the background at 6:08 ^^

    Great!

  • @Ravenadvocate singing??? sort of its just humming of the actually piece. No more then that. there is no words to it.

  • I really have to pee, but I just can't leave!

  • I cannot explain how much I love this tune. I was so pissed off it wasn't on the soundtrack to 28DL that I actually bought it!! Have you ever heard of anything so completely bizarre? Apparently, you can buy all music!? I KNOW RIGHT!

  • 10 dislikes out of 1100 likes..chances are that all 10 dislikes were meant to be likes. Ive hit dislike by mistake before

  • At 6:07 - 6:35 can some one tell me wat hes saying??

  • @JeffrreyDahmer I think they're just singing, no words

  • sounds like Sad Mafioso

  • im really edgy and deep and sophisticated

  • @About4Ducks You don't have to be to enjoy this shit man, it's that awesome haha

  • Who the fuck dislikes this? Actually, who bothers to dislike anything on youtube? You'd actually have to search for this to find it surely?

It takes more effort to click on the dislike buton than to lik on a different link to the next song, so don't be hating on this, if you don't like, move along

  • Interesting, these guys are canadian, I know which street this song is based off of. It's East Hastings in Vancouver. At any time of the day you go by there, there's countless addicts and homeless. :( Very sad, but puts this song into a new perspective.

  • If I were to hear this in a dark alley way at night...

  • I first heard this song while watching 28 Days Later and the combination of the haunting melody and the deep loneliness of the first part of the movie really hit me. No words needed to be spoken; it was all taken in immediately.

But now, I don't need the imagery of the movie to send a wave down my spine, especially during the last two minutes of the song. The raw instrumentals and heart pounding rhythm is enough to put a new euphoric image into my head.

  • I love this song so much, it's indescribable!

  • @zerker12568901 No it's not its named after East Hastings in Vancouver Canada.

  • Is this named after Hastings (UK) East Sussex??

  • 7:03 and the progression after never fails to send a chill down my spine. I'm serious. I wasn't even really into the song this time. Playing some Diablo with this in the background, but that movement always grabs my attention.

My favorite song ever used in cinema for 8 years running. Godspeed made an outstanding choice allowing the producers of 28 Days to use this piece.

  • fuck this ends too quickly and abruptly im all jamming and then its like bam over

  • i could listen to this song all day

  • thumbs up is the occupy bat signal brought you here

  • was brought here by 28 days later, it's beautiful, even when watching people being infected with Rage...

  • Thumbs up if io9 brought you here.

  • It's like two different songs mashed together. Cool :)

  • first time listening this song

words cant describe how awesome this is...

  • This is perfect for my cardio workout, I run about 10 minutes after which I have to take a break. So right around 7th minute, it gets hard, just as the pace of the song starts to build up. Absolutely perfect.

  • the seven people who disliked this have no soul.

  • @demonicalavin no soul, no ears.

  • i'm glad i don't live in east hastings

  • wish it never ended

  • Play this Song when your Alone and walk around your house, but make sure everything is off (Tv, Radio, etc) hahaa

  • Anyone know the chords for this song? Send me a link or just post them please

  • @MexicanArab123. do it by ear. not as hard as you might think

  • This song helps put me to sleep, wich is really fucking weird

  • 6 people are running naked and get infected by rabies after listening to this awesome songs.. ^^

  • ya ta ya ta ya

  • Have any of you ever been through East Hastings at night ... thats what this song is all about...

  • There's nothin like driving home at one in the morning through the country side while listening to this on your ipod

  • Man, its creepy listening to this at 11:00 at night

  • @buttslaya i listening to this at 4 am not creepy at all :P

  • the original song is 17 minutes..And the part 2..it is just creepy..so creepy that touches the perfect dedication to every aspect of sound

  • it means Formless and empty..

amorfos k kenos dld kai einai poli mprosta auto to kommati!

    amazing!!!

  • About 6:40 to 9:43 is like the musical equivalent of an orgasm. It starts off slow, almost romantic... a little peak here and a little dip there, like foreplay. Then the tension builds and the tempo flares until there's a head slamming into the headboard and there's a rushed feeling of a race to the end. so cathartic!

  • @SkotFischer

    I couldn't express it better.

  • @SkotFischer ill never be able to listen to this the same again. :L

  • @buffy5295 Well then, I am so glad I could change your outlook on the song. Enjoy.

  • I just...wow...just...EPIC.

  • minuto 4.35!!! :D

  • tohuwabohu!

  • o man awsome i love this song. always makes me think of "the calm before the storm" an the the actual storm hehheh

  • defiantly using this song on my next mini edit plz sub to see how it comes out;)

  • Thumbs up if you can sing this song like a boss.

  • @nicholasa739 Stop asking for thumbs up, attention whore,

  • 6 people are wrong

  • @MrMojoRisin02

shaddap and listen to the music aye?

  • @phenethylaminedreams well, i can usually troll and listen to music at the same time, so i'm right bro...

  • @theophilemk Leave the stupid "witty" dislike comments behind. You pollute the song.

  • Which movie is this from? 28 days later?

  • @jackwuzhear This is from the GY!BE album, F Sharp.

  • may be they have changed YouTube's theme but they have forgot to add an auto-replay button

  • car alarm sounds @ 8:44

  • beo dee beo dee beo dee beo dee beo dee beeeo deeeoeoeoeoeoeeooo

  • Can you imagine how scary of a trip this would give you if you were on acid...

  • Let me just say... This song is perfect if you haven't slept in two days. It zones you out and makes you fly away.

    Edit: This song is perfect.

  • Wow, it's so moving and haunting!

...is anyone else reminded of A Silver Mt. Zion?

  • @rainethesage ASMZ is a side project of GY!BE's Ephaim, so good pickup if you didn't know that!

  • @drds89 I THOUGHT it sounded familiar! Now I know why!

  • @rainethesage

Thee Silver Mt. Zion is the side project of several members of GYBE

  • I'm ready to take on a post apocalyptic world now....

I just picture walking empty, worn down streets by myself.... before the zombies come.

Either that, or I'm fighting the bastards in Gears of War type slow motion. xD

  • FUCK YES!!

  • can't wait to kill some zombies with a bat

  • @Jimmy9298 yesssss!

  • I'm loving this, but I don't really see me listening to this type of stuff regularly. The closest to this I listen to is Boris' song Naki Kyoku (which kicks ass btw)

  • When I hear this, I can't think of nothing else except "CINEMA'S TOP HUMAN VILLAINS". Can't imagine any zombies (I have watched 28 Days Later).

  • i love the guitar in this, soo simple tho screaming emotion

  • *pulls out AA12 shotgun* guess i better go looking for some food *walking into abandon city*

  • תהו ובהו

    tahoovavoho

  • F.Y.I.:

East Hastings is a drug area of Vancouver, BC. And we are not talking of marijuana that is not considered a drug in Vancouver.

  • @ryloru Damn Straight!

  • @Blinkyboy99 I think the last 5 minutes is the best. :p

  • @zaingasm i think the last 10 min are the best

  • perfect to kill zombies on my F vidgame

  • Umm Kulthumian style!

  • @savatageson I agree with you

  • I love 28 Days Later for introducing me to this group a while back! GYBE are brilliant.

  • I think this song is actually just "The Sad Mafioso...." a part of the whole song East Hastings which is like three (or four) parts.

That said I still love it.

  • @x4evrcuz Yeah, you're right. As I understand they split their songs in different movements, just like in classical.

  • I can perfectly picture myself on my rubber mat doing my Yoga. I'm a disturbed Yogi.

  • so sad at 6:35 , very beautiful song

  • it is just beautiful music i can not describe it !!!

  • I just listened to it, fell asleep and dreamed of something horrible. I was totally alone... walking down the street. Feeling chased...

    Great movie ;)

  • 3 peaple have a different music taste... and i accept it!

  • @freeway0203 Dude, you stole that from the other top comment on the other version of this song... and you misspelled "people".

  • @freeway0203 i dont :)

  • @freeway0203 Six people now. Oh my God, THE CLUELESSNESS ! IT'S SPREADING !!

  • Godspeed You Black Emperor is one of the greatest band ever, this song contain incredible beauty, amazing !!!!!!

  • 3 people are dick knockers! maybe they pressed the wrong button or something.

Never heard of post rock until I first heard them on another YouTube video a couple months back. F#A#infinity was an epic CD and is one of my top fav. albums I know!

  • I'm thinking of Chernobyl, in Russia. A man in a trench-coat, a gas mask, with a rifle strapped on his back. Nothing but silence, other than this song quietly playing as he takes the path to nowhere.

  • @marauder22O Chernobyl is not in Russia but in Ukraine.Just wanted to make this clear.

  • @marauder22O

Your vision reminds me of Fallout game universe. At least, that's the impression I got. Anyway, that music is truly a thing of genius.

  • @marauder22O chernobyl is in Ukraine.. but i get what your saying

  • @scaroni39 Russia actually, right on the border of Pripyat, Ukraine which is the abandoned city which everyone accosiates with Chernobyl

  • @1223dude1223 wow.. i fail lol.. im 25% ukrainian

  • @scaroni39 Haha

  • @marauder22O I hate it when people come iup with bullshit things like this, emo.

  • some of the most amazing music I've ever heard.....and if you see them live......omfg

  • @cpfan183 Dude...I know...they're so beast-like...

  • this music is awsome it makes me feel like a person is running for their lives as a horde of zombies chases them down the street as the speed kicks up the drums are god-like but i feel like ive heard the last three minutes of the song in a movie before but i cant remember where..ah oh well kickass song!

  • @curryMan221 it was used in 28 days later, but i dont think in the last 3 minutes. i think it was at beginnig when he just gets out of hospital and hes walkin round the desolate streets

  • @WatchSocietyBurn

thanks man i remember now :D epic movie you know what im gonna go back and watch it right now ^.^

  • @WatchSocietyBurn its a bit of both isn't it? i reckon they've chopped bits from this full version

  • Why do I suddenly want to walk deserted streets in a hospital clothes, carrying a plastic bag of sodas?

  • @XxA1PH4xX The same reason why I want to be chased by infected and have Molotov Cocktails thrown at me while an entire city block explodes.

  • @XxA1PH4xX With a bunch of crazy infected people right after you? lol Me too.

  • @XxA1PH4xX What is this song in that movie

  • @XxA1PH4xX 28 days from now?

  • @XxA1PH4xX Because this song does not need 28 Days Later.

  • @XxA1PH4xX ...after unsuspectingly showing your willy to veiwers worldwide

  • Gotta love great Canadian music! Godspeed are the soundtrack to my life

  • so i am 16 and from austria... and i think not many people in my age like songs like this... this is music no david guetta or justin biber can beat this... awesome!

  • @freeway0203 so so so so so so true

  • @freeway0203 There is a "wall" that the music industry is building in front of people. If you make it to look behind that wall, you will find the magnificent world of people that love what they are doing and have something to express through their art. This has nothing to do with money, genre and fame...

  • @darkBlueDemon hmm.. thats true.. but look at the people what are listening david guetta or something else... in they head is only thing important party party party... familiys break up nobody are interested to do something with there kids and yes... i am so a teen.

  • @freeway0203 I like to party and I listen to GSYBE!

  • @freeway0203 so you alienate yourself from your peers with your perceived eccentricities and idiosyncracies only to end up seeking validation on the internet.. smh..

  • эта песня листья гусиную кожу на затылке, это неописуемо

  • Dieu si tu me lis, sache que je viens d'écouter la bible.

  • @deadofnow whts that mean?

  • what do those symbols say?

  • @CARBINEZzZz The characters = Hebrew = Tohu wa-bohu = Formless and empty.

Also, wrong album cover. Should be the cover of F#A#(Infinity), but its still cool.

  • this cant be played quietly... O_O

  • If you listen carefully, you can hear people singing from 6:07 to 6:36

  • @TheIronMarine did you really have to listen carefully to hear that? i thought the "dadada" was quite clear.

  • @TheIronMarine I know eh

  • So intense!!! It demands your attention with no so little!! Genius song!

  • @lilixfan1 it would make sense if it was that east Hastings. The ban is from Vancouver, I believe.

  • Where's the second part?

  • fun begins at 9:00 and 9:32 thank god for that drummer!

  • 7:30 AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~~~

  • @revolutionary86 check out john murphys edit of this song it pretty much starts there.

  • I challenge anyone to listen to the F#A# infinity album and stay awake its so tranquil yet enjoyable

  • is this refering to East Hasting in Vancouver ? Canada ? im confused lols

  • it's when music becomes an experience. enlightment.

  • Comment removed

  • If you like this song look at Abandoned Six Flags, its the same song but visually disturbing.

  • @Redux47

Thats odd. I just saw that video earlier today.

  • Brilliant! Almost surreal, if you can apply that term to music, this soundtrack kind of eats into your consciousness. Go buy the full CD and listen to it in the dark in it's entirity - Awesome stuff; one of the most unsettling yet strangely compulsive experiences I have ever had with music.

  • Tohu wa bohu (תֹ֙הוּ֙ וָבֹ֔הוּ) is a biblical Hebrew phrase found in Genesis 1:2. It is usually translated "formless and empty," or some variation of the same, and describes the condition of the earth before God said, "Let there be light."

  • @Essincy Well put. I came to this video thinking I'd have to explain that, but you took the words right out of my mouth. Hahaha

  • I deserve to be flamed for this, but I can't help but imagine "Ghostship Part I" by The Fall of Troy kicking in at the end of this. Do your worst.

  • @smloveskittycats you're dead

  • @smloveskittycats ahhhhh i love GS part 1. personally i like the more refined, Phantom on the Horizon version of it.

  • This song is just so creepy.

    Love it.

  • Wow, epic timing. Just as I finished the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island, the song ended.

  • I'm playing this song on my Ipod when a zombie epidemic occurs.

  • @TheIronMarine why does everyone assosiate this song with 28 days later, i dont remeber this song being in it and i have seen the movie many times.

  • @slimithy12 it's the song when he wakes up from a coma and is walking round an empty London. i think when the taxi's car alarm goes off is when it kicks in with everything, know what i mean? it might be edited a bit in the movie or something, i haven't seen it in a while. but it is definitely this song

  • @slimithy12 Hey man, I'm just saying. This song is perfect for a zombie epidemic. I've never seen the movie you're talking about.

  • @TheIronMarine dont worry dude it is in 28 days later (like the dude below said) i just wanted to know at which part. it reminds me of a zomibe or madmax type world too.
