I think I found 2 songs it reminded me of. Bless the Child by Nightwish uses a very similar chord progression in the chorus (different key, but still), and I think San Sebastian by Sonata Arctica. This is my best guess, but I know it sounds like some SA song.

So yes, I knew that I had heard something like it as well :) And, I love the song.
