@hermyoneelover i've been there...i have several scars from cutting and burning a few years back when i was going through hell...the one person i thought was going to help me through it only left me...life lost its meaning...just sat in my room for days, not eating, not sleeping, void of emotion most of the time...just listening to songs like this on repeat for days and days...then I heard a song that gave me hope. @hermyoneelover (cont...) ...i learned that hope can't truly be found in people because people will always fail us at some point...we are all broken and hurting, no matter how good we are at hiding the pain...the only true hope for peace and serenity I found are in Jesus Christ. During the darkest times in my life when I prayed that I would die, God decided to keep me here and showed me hope and love through Jesus...He is the only thing keeping me here. Now I have purpose. hope that helps

Reading through some of these comments its interesting what people will do to put someone down for expressing there feelings or class as 'real pain'. everyone has a different way of dealing with pain in there own manner and some of you want to judge on that?! thats hardly fair. I hear you. I'm a somewhat recovered cutter (clean for a year now) with a depressive disorder which I manage to keep in check most of the time through will alone - the meds only made things worse, and I just don't trust therapists. It helps that I have a significant other to care for (also a depressive cutter, and much worse off than me) and that I've learned to channel my negativity in a way which makes me angry rather than sulky, giving me raw strength to cope with the world.

@bruxistkodiak Hold fast, and I understand that when there is a significant other that one cares deeply for, the burdens of the world seem no to lift, but to lighten. If it stops you from feeling helpless, it is a step up, but from my expirience, I find it best to delve to the root of the problem, and repair the leak rather than bail the ship. I must be in a state of mind willing to change however, and depression of the nervous system is hard to beat, but I find a stimulating activity works.

I have to say this is one of the most beautifully dark and emotionally harrowing songs i've ever heard! Music should convey emotion and her voice is so beautiful and yet so full of pain - i have to confess i did shed a tear and that really shows the power of this song.

The last song that had that effect was One Last Goodbye by Anathema (a touching tribute to the singer's mother) - check them out!!
