Can I start out with an expansion? Or do I have to start out from the very beginning of the game?

@onsaphi You can start with the original Guildwars, Faction or Nightfall but not Eye of the North (which you need one of the three latter ones). Each of the three starting game, has a it's own beginning and end, so it doesn't matter which one you start with. Guildwars 2 is coming out soon, so you may wait for that instead as Guildwars is very old now and not as fun as it was.

@Raveshadow Ah thanks. Yeah I played the original GW when it first came out, and it was a really fun game. Just tried it again but its not the same. GW2 looks amazing but I don't think it will be out until 2012 at least :/

what do u mean by character? u just start a new character...its as simple as that. But if you want the other 4 professions: assasin,ritualist,paragon and dervish u need to buy the other 2 campaigns(factions and nightfall)

I don't have Eye of the North yet but from my understanding, he said that they will allow players to play as new races in Guild Wars 2 but are allowing people to preview them as heroes.

u go to Lions Arch and u have to complete a quest. Look at the top of your screen and u will see the quest name. =)

Just to clarify, its online, its free, lvl cap is 20, factions does not suck, and cap won't get higher cuz the point of the game is to play smart, not to spend hours and hours lvling

I have Guild Wars factions, and i for not so long ago downloaded Guild Wars - eye of the north...but i read somewhere that you have to be over lvl 10 or something to travel to the north...can anyone of you explain to me by sending me a message, how i shall play it?

u could go to it at any lvl

but i can gurantee u that u should go when ur lvl 20

cause all the guys are like lvl 20-28 and they run in packs of like 2-7

EoTN is a huge map made so people can waste their lives away as they farm points in order to get ugly armor. Anet shouldnt have made this expansion it sucks

dude in order to get some armor; you need a certain title and it gets very annoying if you want those armor in all your chars. I hate how NC tries to absorb ppl to play long by making up "long-cut" ways of getting desired things: i think they are increasing the annoying meter even more. believe me: once you have finished eotn boredom is the #1 enemy.

looks like this is going to link all the previous games together and unreveal the story of Gwen. and btw heres a little thing to think about.. Gwen is the little girl at the begining of prophecies.. her name is in the title G-uild W-ars E-ye of the N-orth so i guess she plays a big plot in this expansion :D

I don't think so... The mission pack will reveal the past of Guild Wars, including what happened to Gwen after the Searing. Gwen will most likely be a mesmer hero in Eye Of The North, though :)
