It was quite the vogue for men to sing lyrics which were meant to be sung by women as few dance bands had female vocalists. Hylton's "Must have that man" & Jack Payne's "When the poppies bloom again" come to mind.
It is from the "Follow Thru" The Helen Kane version is very good too.

This is good to hear, I am so used to just hearing the Ambrose.I read this is from September 1929 and the excellent vocalist is Eddie Collis.

Thanks,but after hearing 85scampis "i want to be bad"by Ambrose,any other version doesnt seem quite so good!
