  • Somebody told me about this and I didn't believe it.... Mind blown!

  • amazing!

  • Of the united states navy

  • what version of microsoft flight simulator is this?

  • The video states payloads of 21,000 - 30,000 lbs were tested for landings.

  • Hercules is the best military cargo plane ever built... they also were used by Argentine Air Forces as a refueling plane, and they NEVER could been shot down by Royal Air Force.

  • Oh, please. If they'd wanted to, they would have, but the Mirages and Skyhawks were the priority. A lot of good it did you not having your Hercs shot down. You kept your Hercs and didn't get the Falklands. U.K.1, ArgieBargie 0.

  • @JeffRL1956 Anyway Hercules is an amazing miltary cargo plane, even if Argentina didn't win the Falklands/Malvinas War, those acomplished so good their mission, but fighters win wars not cargo planes. It is not my intention arguing about that war itself. PD: I am not and argie or barbie or whatever, I am proud of being PERUVIAN, from the land of the INKAS.

  • Anyone know if they tried it with any load? landing and taking off is one thing, landing and taking off with a payload is another.

  • Simply Amazing!

  • 'Under Ideal Conditions'

  • wow i never thought an C-130 could land on a aircraft carrier

  • I thought a C-130 was too big for a carrier. Wonder how often it is done. I have to say I would not want to try it.

    Godai

  • c-2

  • Its not an easy job to land a C-130, and especially on an aircraft carrier, hats off to these pilots...They make it look so very easy.

  • Modified Hercules are also used to carry food packages and support firefight in forest!

A good airplane is the one that acts in several types of works!

  • the difference betwwen both is the ac is armed cargo its what u would use in war game and the c version is just a normal cargo version

  • Pretty crazy. Too bad they pretty much have to clear the deck to do it.

  • this is nothing chuck norris landed a carrier on a c 130...

  • I think its time to try a b-52 now..

  • @CrazyPotatos A380 or AN-225 I think you mean :P

  • @xero993 I was going for military aircraft but those would work as well

  • Why do old cold war vids all sound like they have the same narrator?

  • @KingsBrothers Must have been a russian conspiracy :)

  • just awesoome

  • AAMEERICA! FUCK YEAH!

  • This was made back in the day when Americans were awesome! What happened to them? :-(

  • @MynameisElliott Don't count us out just yet! ;)

  • absolutely stunning. Look at that,... Imagine doing it now. "oh no!!! it's too dangerous!" humanity it's going the pussy way, way too quickly

  • @ComandanteJ I'd disagree, not everyone is the kind of person who would fight for their country, risking their lives for something they believe in. But I know some guys in the military, they know what rough means. I'm not a soldier, but I believe the military could be a good experience if looked upon the correct way, it could make us all appreciate life more. Knowing that there are always fellow people out there getting their legs blown off for the sake of others.

  • My heart stops when I see this . Amazing !!! Darn good pilot !!

  • i love the c-130

  • Watching it it doesnt seem like too much of a hassle once you actually see it.

  • HOW THE?

  • 6+ minutes or you know 5:45.

  • shit man goooood pilots^^

  • Not bad!

  • ENEMY AC-130 ABO...

    Oh shit it's just a C-130.

  • The Worlds biggest plane will land on us aircraft carrier on the future!

  • does c-130 have weapons

  • @carbon5146 No.But the Ac-130 do.

  • @carbon5146 Yes, it can be upgraded with a 40 MM cannon and a 150 MM Cannon, at this point it is called "Spooky". The back cargo door can be opend to allow guns to be mounted on to it's ramp, thus making it a very versitle aircraft.

Sadly, in the Spooky mode, I don't think it can cary too much.

  • @WaterLines333 Typically an AC-130 doesn't actually normally carry any cargo, due to the fact that the ammunition takes up a lot of space.

  • @DrHooty911 Actually in non-combat missions it does. A friend who used to be a gunner on one in the 90's said most of the time it was cargo, rarely combat missions were flown.

  • @Caleb4100 I think you might have misunderstood your friend. I spent 6 years loading cargo on aircraft in the Air Force. The AC-130 is not configured to carry cargo. The weapons and fire control systems take up most of the cargo hold. You could put some loose cargo on it but it won't take a 463L pallet like a normal C-130.

  • @mmckee79 Hmm... ok. Well, that's what he told me, not sure if it's right. Maybe they were smaller pallets or used a regular C-130's? Thanks for the info!

  • @Caleb4100 There's not a smaller pallet. The 463L pallet is designed to fit in the rails of all US cargo planes. Cargo is stacked on a pallet and slid onto planes using rollers on the floor of the aircraft. It was my experience during my last deployment that if AFSOC needed cargo moved, they would use MC-130s we had on station. Things could have been different back in the early 90's but it just doesn't make sense that an AC-130 would haul cargo as its primary mission.

  • héhè_äñÿ_gúÿs_wÂñt_tõ_chÄt_wîth_mÈ

  • I would have shat a brick if that was me attempting that :L

  • Admiral Flatley helped me get into the submarine service, this is the first time I've actually seen his most famous moment. Most impressive! For those of y'all who don't the Admiral (the pilot in this video) he is a great American and a true patriot. If you see this Admiral, thank you again for your service and assistance.

  • I cant wait to serve my country in the navy

  • UHHH Big ass tanker in the groove.... Set weight too infinity... Thats amazing. Now watching this video. Im sure I had first classes and cheifs that were on the Forestal, when they did this. And now I have a new, even greater respect for them now.

  • i wonder what an airbus would be like militarised with L60s and M102 cannons ect ect

  • @Tommy1572 That would be known as the AC130 except with MUCH bigger guns... xP

  • @Tommy1572 AC400M.. that would look pretty cool. Especially with those counter-rotating scimitar-shaped props. Now.. AC-17. :D

  • The pilot, LT (now RADM, ret) Jim Flatley is in the choir at my church. I just sent this video to him. Sweet!

  • Lets see Airbus try that with their A400M...............

My reserve unit at ORD had one or two of the glass nosed A models of the 130

  • Wow!

I can't wait to start working on the C130's next year!

  • Yes Virginia a C130 did land on a carrier! awesome!

  • WOW, how does he fly the plane with balls that big?!?

  • guys, c-130 and AC-130 isnt the same ok? AC-130 have the gun that boom boom kill people, but the C-130 dont, they are usually for refuelling aeroplane in air etc. or to have a private sex in the bathroom

  • @germs95 C-130 is a very versatile cargo plane.

  • @germs95 are fucking retarded the c-130 and the ac-130 are to the same aircraft just ac-130 is modified from its original state

  • @germs95 same airframe, the A-130 just has weapons & sensors installed in the port side. KC-130 is also basically the same airframe but with a modular air refueling system installed, there has also been electronic warfare, fire fighting, drone aircraft mothership, bomber, weather research, arctic research, command & control, & airborne radar versions. the main difference between them is the modular equipment fitted to the airframe. most can be converted in a matter of hours.

  • Fucking MW2 Fags

99% of them don't know what a C-130 is but they know what an AC-130 is

I was talking to one of my friends one day about the C-130 then the nerd ran in my conversation and said "You mean an AC-130 right?" -_-

  • @Freebird453 did you tell him to go fuck himself, because he didn't know what the fuck he was talking about? Thats what i would of done.

  • @Freebird453 well from the tech spec they pretty much are the same aircraft ones just heavily modded and dont call me a mw2 fag cause my dad spent 4 years active duty on c-130s and ac-130s but only on the ac-130 when he was with the 1st special operations squaqron

  • Comment removed

  • @Freebird453 i know right. SAME DESIN PPL, REMODIFIED TACTICAL WISE, AND MISSION WISE, BUT THE SAME FREAKING THING.ITS LIKE ALL 747 BOEING. all look alike

  • @Freebird453 what a fag ... -.-"ppl are so dumb today

  • @Freebird453 A few months ago I was playing on Xbox, and some idiot thinks he knows everything about aviation. He thought the F-14's nickname was the Hornet, He thought F/A-18s were also used by the USAF, he thought the F-22 was a carrier based aircraft, the F/A-18E/F was no longer being used and so much more -_- I was about to curb stomp someone

  • @Freebird453 dude AC-130 is gunship. C-130 is transporter. Its modification

  • @Freebird453 Yep most of those prats are my friends, caant stand it when they start talking all that crap.

  • @emiratesA380NCL We call him James

  • @bogycraper Exactly

  • What is we continue this? I mean, why don't ajust the plane, with a stronger hook than other aircraft and make it able to be launched by catapult?

I don't understand why some governments don't invest in these projects..

I mean, same goes for the F-16 They made a project and a prototype, where the F-16 had Thrusvectoring i mean, the F-16 is one of the best multirole fighter that has bin arround for over 30years, and it still does the job perfectly, why not invest in the thrustvectoring....

  • ....at that way, the F-16 can stay in service for another 20-30 years, as it would have bin the first jet with all directional thrustvectoring...Now it just sits somewhere in a hanger of nasa, never to be used again.

  • In soviet russia, carrier lands on you!

  • @RusskieHunter13 win!!!

  • A plane that skis. wow

  • Imagine if AC-130s were somehow modified to be deployed via air craft carriers.

  • @Me4tsh1eld that would Fucking KICK-ASS!

  • . . ."The Right Stuff"

  • Wow, I served in the Air Force and never knew a C-130 had landed and taken off from an aircraft carrier.

  • wow

  • Holy shit, it doesn't even use an arresting hook or catapult to launch lol that thing is badass.

  • look ma... no hook.

  • WOW, I didnt believe it when I saw the title this is great.

  • Absolutely fantastic! What an amazing transport aircraft. Very brave pilots too, but they made it look so easy.

  • @sabertanker22 even when the c-130 whas around it was not the bigist

  • @thecessna154 FYI C-130 is still around and will be for at least the next 40 years esp. since the c-130j came out which is better then the older models

  • @merediwillia woops i ment that even came out it was not the biggist

  • Unfortunately, this results in a neutered. See this film @ Movie Watcher [dot] US

  • LOL Commander W.Steelballs 2:20

  • A prosthesis. Original device was lost in Korean war. :-) Though I think his surname is Stallball.

  • i not shore that a JATO on an aircraft carier

  • Comment removed

  • neither C-17 or C-5 could physically fit on a carrier deck, their wing would hit the island. the C-130 had only about 4 feet of clearence between the starboard wing tip & the island. that is the main reason that the C-130 wasn't utilised as a COD aircraft.

  • @kdraper2007 Really...People say U.S.S Eldridge did not disappear....But I beg to differ..

  • LOL what the fuck lol that the biggest plane to ever land on a carrier. i always thought the biggest was the radar sea hawk .

  • @SaberTanker22 radar sea hawk?

  • @SaberTanker22

Didn't a Hercules land on a carrier in The Hunt for Red October?

  • @SaberTanker22

dont forget the vid of the U-2 landing on one...

  • @SaberTanker22 Seahawk is a helicopter. The radar plane is the Hawkeye. it is much smaller then the C-130. in fact the C-2 greyhound which was developed from the Hawkeye for carrier onboard delivery duty is larger then the basic hawkeye.

  • @SaberTanker22 what plane is that?

  • take a c-17 off that lol

  • @Eirik36 now that would be difficult but maybe be possible

  • C-17 is bigger than the damn deck :O, plus its a jet it would never get off that thing, the c130 is a turboprop, super acceleration.

  • @daraptor0

Are you sure your not confusing the C-17 with the C-5A?

  • it was a joke lol

  • Is the plane small or the ship big? O.o

  • Fuck that's epic!

  • Holy F*** that's amazing.

  • is the take off JATO?

  • Nope. The landings and takeoffs are completely unassisted... or so the video says.

  • I've never seen a C-130 land on a aircraft carrier before. It always has been the AV-8 F-18 and F-14 for me.

  • lol they have a F117 navy version tht use to do tht

  • Are you stupid? Your comment shows your obvious lack of knowledge about military aviation you f'ing tool. Do you know what the F in F-117 stands for? Or what about the C in C-130? Show me where the Navy flys F-117's you dingleberry. I happen to be an Air Force veteran so please enlighten me with your knowledge. Throw away your keyboard.

  • its easy... the F means fighter it was a stealth bomber the US Navy version was a F-117N Seahawk retired in the 1990s

  • Wrong. The Navy has never had such an aircraft.. The Seahawk is fricken helicopter you tool. SH-60 to be exact. There is only one F-117. Which belongs to the Air Force. Stealth Fighter. Sound familiar? Probably not to someone like yourself that doesn't have a clue on what they're talking about. The F-117 Stealth Fighter was just retired from the Air Force 2 years ago. Don't argue with an Air Force veteran who just so happens to be employed in the fighter aircraft world.

  • the F117N, your an idiot, they retired the aircraft in 2008 they shut down the school in 2006

  • Look kid, why don't you wait until you get into the military before you try to argue with a 16 year veteran. You are sadly misinformed. Stop watching so much tv.

  • ok 1 im not a kid

    2 i dont watch tv

3 my father is US AirForce

and 4 my friend is a former F117A test pilot hes told me bout it,

it was never used until the 1990s your not a veteran XD

    my gosh

  • Of course your friend is a former test pilot. I would expect nothing less. Wrong, I am a veteran. Stop arguing, you're way out of your league.

  • so then why are you saying your still active omgosh you dam kid

  • Also I never said I was retired Air Force. I'm still active duty, 16 years in. look at that you sent me that you need make your lies up better

  • the early 1990s, Lockheed began to pitch an upgraded, carrier capable variant of the F-117 dubbed the Seahawk as an alternative to the canceled A/F-X program. The unsolicited proposal was received poorly by the Department of Defense, who had little interest in the single mission capabilities of such an aircraft, particularly as it would take money away from the Joint Advanced Strike Technology program (which evolved into the Joint Strike Fighter).

  • I think your being a little harsh. Though you are correct that there never was an F117 in active naval service. There was an F117 variant proposed by Lockheed in the 90s. It was indeed dubbed the "Seahawk", Though the NAVY did not accept the proposal, and a prototype was never build...

  • The F-117N Was an unsolicited PROPOSAL from Lockheed to the US Navy, as a Single Role Stealth Carrier launched variant. The proposal was not well received and was NOT accepted. As far as I can find.. No flight tests where ever conducted.

  • that you know of lol, the military has plenty of secret tests

  • Comment removed

  • O really ? I always thought that the F - 117 was Air Force. Sucks that it's retired.

  • same as but its Navy to, tobad they retired them

  • Yeah they are starting to retire the good aircrafts

  • i know :( they retired all the F15s on Elmendorf AFB Alaska where im station and gettin ready to retired the F16 and the A10

  • That sucks, but don't you guys have F-22 there as well ? It's seems like pretty much the only fighter jets the Air Force is going to have is the F-22 and the F-35.

  • yup and they cancle the program the F35 is Navy i though

  • What you serious ? I thought the F-35 was going to be Air Force ?. The Navy shouldn't even retire the F-18. Seeing the F-18 retire is like seeing the F-14 retire and the F-14 was like the best plane the Navy had in my opinion.

  • yea,

the F18 is suppose to be retired i think idk but the F15 is Naval i hear idk bout the Airforce

  • The F-35 which is the JSF program was designed to replace the U.S. military's F-16, A-10, F/A-18 (excluding F/A-18E/F) and AV-8B tactical fighter aircraft. To keep development, production, and operating costs down, a common design was planned in three variants that share 80% of their parts: 2025 is the year of the retirement

  • ok,

cause i heard they are plannin retire the A10,F16 and the AV-8B are goin be retire whn they get the F35

  • Naw, All those aircrafts along with the F-15 shoud be retired in 2025. Really sad to see those aircrafts go. There are already Air Force bases that have the F-35 like Edwards AFB and Englin AFB. The F-35 first flew in December 15th 2006.

  • yea,

well our bases F15s got retired a few years ago

  • That sucks. Ours bases down south still have them but mostly like the F-16.

  • Elis AFB Alaska has like 3 F16s

  • Homestead ARB has about 10 F-16's thats because it's a base that operates F-16's like Luke AFB and Hill AFB. Homestead ARB also have about 8 F-15's but the Air National Guard flies them not the reserve.

  • not bad i think Nelis has about 20 F16s and F15s

  • Yeah Nellis AFB has so many aircrafts. They have alot of C-130's there as well. Thats one base I would l love to be station at.

  • well i want to be a B1 pilot i want to be in Dyless

  • I wanted to be a C-130 pilot, but insted I do mentenance on them and other planes. I love being in the C-130. When I am in it, I can imagine myself just sittin in the back enjoying the flight traveling around world. It's feels great you know ?

  • ya your USAF then?ive never been on a flight of one :(

  • Yeah im USAF. My dad jump off one when he was in the Army. I been inside one but I haven't flew in one, but soon Ill probably be flying in one which I can't wait.

  • tht rocks! i really want to be in one now :(

  • You're lucky to have a job that you enjoy. Most people work some shit job just for the money.

  • Thanks, pretty much anyone could get a job like mine, just work hard for it take alot of pratice test on the asvab and you'll get what you want. I don't do it for the money, I do it because I love working on aircrafts it's a great career and it's helping me alot in life. Most peoeple work shit jobs but you know they can change that. It's up to them on what they want to do about it. Some people think joining the Military was not a good idea but to me it sure was.

  • BTW, one of the flight crew said if youre going to whack off in the back of the aircraft, could you please wipe up the mess? Thanks

  • Thats something you would do so the mess is up to you.

  • this is just pure awesome.

i've always wanted to go into the military.
