Hey you guys should try using TestDisk it's completely free and runs on Mac, Windows, and just about everything else. The only bad thing is it looks a little technical, but if you work with it enough and RTFM, then you should be able to get your videos back.

I don't know of particular file rescue programs BUT you should MINIMIZE the number of NEW files you make now, since there's a chance they may overwrite and PERMANENTLY destroy the files you want to recover.

I have found screaming at my computer to be only partially effective. Sometimes it complies, sometimes not. Sometimes it's the only option!

i highly doubt that theres any free software to recover your footage...but with mac theres something else you could do for future occurences. you could buy a time capsule (sold at any mac store) and use that to back up any of your work. it works wirelessly, and is pretty damn expensive (i think the smaller memory one goes for $299) but if youre worried about losing stuff again it could be worth it lol. good luck recovering that footage!
