@kalimaganeshshivan If you want to go by the Nursery rhyme, Grundy by far. But DC comic character came out in 1944 as an adversary to the Green Lantern. Hulk on the other hand came out in 1962. He was ultimately a JL villain, but is a nicely done, complex character unlike Hulk in my opinion.

That's not a cross, it's an Ankh. Many Epyptian myth gods are depicted carrying one often referred to as a key. If you wiki it, it shows rather funny means of understanding it's origin. Kent Nelson son of archaeologist Sven Nelson, who died after Kent opened the tomb of the ancient wizard Nabu, hence he learned magic from him. Others think the ankh represents the Nile river. Solomon Grundy is older than Hulk. Solomon Grundy was created in 1944 while Hulk was in 1962. So if anything it is the other way around.

@livingwill1 However, even though Grundy was created first, this version of Solomon Grundy is directly parodying the Hulk, down to the army commander that looks like Thunderbolt Ross. Honestly, you could easily switch out the characters and the opening scene would not be out of place in a show starring the Hulk. Grundy may be older, but his character and even his strength aren't as consistent as the Hulk's. If it were classic Grundy, all he would say is the nursery rhyme he gets his name from.

@livingwill1 Funny thing is, though, that the teaming of Aquaman, Dr. Fate, and Grundy is supposed to pay homage to The Defenders, a Marvel team made up of Namor, Dr. Strange, and the Hulk. So drawing divisions between he two companies kind of misses that point of this episode. DC was trying to show respect to Marvel here.
