sorry...and its not sour grapes, but Linda Martin should have won this for Ireland, It was a much stronger song and a far more profesional performance by Linda. Not that I'm a fan of hers (She was better with Chips) but credit were credit is due. Men mellan 1977 och 1999 var reglerna stenhårda på att man skulle sjunga på landets folkspråk (Schweiz och Belgien fick variera mellan sina språk) eller ett officiellt språk i landet (vilket förklarar varför Luxemburg fick sjunga på franska och Malta på engelska, fast de inte är dessa länders folkspråk).
