The stuffed cow on the window ledge isn't feeling it, if you can play like that you should be playing in an Irish bar where people know the tune and love it!
thats great because i went ahead and have done a eight track recording,i only just bought the bodhran so you will be able to tell, and played all the instruments myself ,apart from your good self,it only took an hour,i,m learning how to use this zoom machine ,i will put it on here, and i f you like it perhaps you would do some stuff with me and we will create the worlds first online vertual band!!!!,look for maid behind the bar with erzulie and jakethefiddle.cheers,jake.
hi,i have an eight track and play varius instruments, mandolin etc and i would like to put your banjo on my projects and play with your tunes ,would you mind if i did this?cheers jake buckton.
Beautiful. Great sounding Vega. Looks like from the late 20's. For the Irish tunes I play on a Vega Professional, which is identical to yours, gold plated but a bit less ornate with the mother-of-pearl. Same tu-ba-phone tone ring. I've been playing Vegas for over 40 years and I love them. And you really know how to play it. Thanks.
Thanks olmmbill, (and others for your positive comments) Like you I just love the tubaphone tonerings. A Professional was my favourite until I got this Artist., as you say, basically the same banjo just a bit more fancy. Cheers
I have a Vega too. It is a 19 fret Little Wonder tenor banjo. Not a lot of people would regard them as a very top of the range banjo but I do. I was going to upgrade my banjo a few months ago. I was looking in particular at Paramount Style C, Leader and Epiphone Recording Kings. But I realized that I was happy with my Vega and didn't need an upgrade. And I still have that Vega now. I don't plan on changing it soon either!
Excelent example of a Vega played with a great reel! What is that Vega sound? They are so distinct; what is it? Is it the twang? Lots of banjos have twang...What makes those Vega's so great? I don't know but I sure love mine too!

Hi,
I don't mind at all, I'd be interested to hear the results. I'll wait for the royalty cheques to flood in!!! ;-)

is the banjo easier than the guitar? I played the guitar many years and I wonder how's a banjo xD
sportinguista1995 2 years ago
That's a question I can't answer for you. Get a banjo and give it a try!
erzulie123 2 years ago
Well, it has "just" 4 strings, that's for sure :)

dont you play backwards?
its brilliant i play the tenor banjo and i learnt this tune a few years ago on some of my other instruments but i could never play that good
but i think its very unusual the way you play but its brilliant.

Thanks. I swap the strings around and play left handed, just imagine yourself looking in a mirror and it's the same as you!
