  • 0:25 - 0:27 wrong tan sau to block that attack...he sould block that punch whith "fa jing" energy, not in a force against force, because if he are in street, that tan sau are ineficient

  • @TeCamela But it's not the force, it's the superior structure against the weaker structure, at that situation at that given moment, that stops the attack. (stepping in, with your feet, knees, hips, taahn sau and simultaneous punch structured correctly, is all required)

  • @TeCamela he was only doing a little explanation on where to hit with the Taahn Sau and about the structures and where the force of the hook punch comes from. If you watch the full DVD you'll see him stepping in with the explosiveness you mentioned. David Peterson says that if you stand still passively and wait for the hook to come, trying to block will drive you back and defending becomes quite difficult. Stepping into the other structure will render him unable to complete his hook.

  • Ah damn, sorry for double posting everybody..

  • Very good !!!

  • I watched it. it's very good!

  • This is great DVD, very helpful!!!! 5 STARS.

  • Nice video excellent breakdown of techniques and fighting methods old school training is always number one i liked the wooden dummy training very much.. i have a long range wooden dummy set on you tube as well and a wing chun wooden dummy set to see both of my dummy sets look up under Sifu jack Soderberg or my student naumutroi. sifu your you tube is great have3 a great day Sifu Jack Tibetan lama and liu ho ba fa

  • The best fighters are not always the best teachers and the best teachers aren't not always the best fighters. Nobody's wing chun is perfect and there's a lot to said for contribution to the cause

  • high tech special effects and fancy screen effects don't make up for bad kung fu.

  • Got all David' DVD's couple of days ago. I'm in the uk and don't train with David. They are by far the most in depth and practical wing chun video's I've ever seen. I'm already watching them several times in order to get the most from what he's teaching. They cover so much of the subtle detail that makes Wing Chun really work. I hope he makes more.

  • If you have not seen his other dvds then your missing out on everything.. WSL system is of the best. Im not knocking anyone else wing chun because I like theres to but it all come together win you watch the other videos..

  • @jugerknott09 yes wsl was one of the best wc fighters. my question to u is it the system or how much work u put in to it. everybody thought that wc made bruce, wsl,and william cheung the best fighters. i am sure it did but lets not forget the hours upon hours of training they did. sometimes 8 to 10 hrs a day. so once again is it the system or hard work

  • well then this makes shaolin monks the best fighters since they spend the whole day doing nothing but practice their fighting system.

  • i think master wong is better , is he ?

  • one thing is for sure he has no upper mass. I guess working the body out like Master Lee is not in his game plan.

  • where can i buy this???

  • i would have thought that it should line up with your shoulders

  • Does anybody know the name of the background music in the video. I like to practice with beats in the background.

  • Great work Sisook!!!

Can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

  • bad ass

  • It's on my list. Been looking forward to this for ages! Now I just need money...anyone up for some crime?

  • This DVD looks first-rate!

What is the proper height for a wooden dummy?

What part of your upper body should the top arm be aligned with?

  • In the ideal situation, the top two arms of the Jong should line up with the chest when standing in your Yi Ji Kim Yeung Ma.

  • @ChynaVsPotato May I offer my suggestion. Whilst in your favroured stance (the one your train in the most) the 2 upper arms at the top of the wooden dummy should be in line with the point at which your shoulder meets your chest, left and right arm respectivly. The height of the dummy should be inline with the top of your head. You may want to do a bit of research to be absoloutly sure :)

  • @ChynaVsPotato When you are in your training stance, each of the top arms should be exacly the same height as your shoulders. This will make sure that when you train on it, your shapes, punches and blocks will all be correct relative to your height.

I hope this was helpful for you :)

  • Put it down proper uncle D

  • Looks excellent, I'll check it out.
