aye bring yer Wellies, cos it's Scotland, of course it's gonnae rain.

Come to the west highlands and get the wind driving the rain through yer and little or no sunshine apart from one day and even then it wants to rain.

thats why were all hardy in the highlands, and neck the whisky.... I nice bottle/dram of highland park or glenmorangie.

Well it's been snowing for the last 3 weeks.... it'll certainly be a bit warmer then but it's impossible to say for sure.

It'll be a fair bit colder than Greece but hopefully fine :P Good luck !!

its wet, always wet. with some unexpected bouts of sunshine, and a lovely breeze. it can get quite chilly though! you wont be in shorts and t-shirts thats for sure lol.

i hope you have fun, i lived there all my life, till two years ago when i moved to canada. man do i miss it lol. enjoy it, and go to the town (city centre) in glasgow, and go the the store "primark". youll love it :) my favourite store ever, and the glasgow city centre is the bestttt shopping place :)

on edinburgh? seeing the castle is good, and theres a nice park across the road from it. see the castle at night as well they sometimes put nice colourful lights on it. but edinburgh is more the traditional tourist spot than a piece of real scotland. you can even catch a train from edinburgh to glasgow for a day, its cheap and good to do.

Or how about getting some Gold cuillin beer down yer, the only one made from porridge oats, or how about the Isle of lewis, out in the Atlantic generally called the western isles, where Palm trees grow (yes you are reading it right, Palm trees) EPIC beaches of pure golden sands like Horgabost and luskentyre beach.

but what do I know, im just a son of Scotland.

also, id reccomend if you have a chance visiting loch ness, and a place called balmaha (a hill you hike up to the tp of - the view is breathtaking and its a real piece of the scottish highlands right there :) plus, balmaha and inverness are both within an hours drive from glasgow. id tell you to hire a car get a map and directions and explore; scotlands a marvelous place.

@lirael92 We will definitely visit loch ness! I also want to visit Eilean Donan and Glen Coe! Is it a long trip from Edinburgh to Glasgow? Is it better to rent a car to visit the highlands or go with an organised tour? (I hope i don't make you feel like a tourist guide :P )

and no worries lol my pleasure! umm well on the train it takes around a half hour from edinburgh to glasgow, not long at all!and as for the organised tours; ive never been! (being a native to the country myself lol :P) .. however i would imagine it may be a wise choice if you dont know your way around. its really up to you!

cos balmaha is near glasgow and thats 3hours drive from inverness.

I am from the highlands, bet you never knew you could stay in a genuine castle for instance.... well it just so happens, there is one near my wee village, called carbisdale castle, next to a famous salmon river called the Shin, just up the road is Shin falls, where u can now buy stuff from harrods.

or how about the old man of kintail and the 5 sisters of kintail?
