i guess the real question is, what type of times do we live in when a tradition found in almost any culture and hundreds of years old is being reborn today? i encourage anybody who considers ear stretching or scarification to do some research and find out why cultures so long ago did it back then, and why people in modern times should choose to do it for those same reasons.

if anything, we can all use it in a way older generations used to use it, to judge character. if someone is mature and responsible they will take theyre time stretching theyre ears. nowadays you see kids with blow outs and thinning ears. this, in my opinion is mutilation, not modification. its said that buddha was born with large stretched ears symbolizing his maturity and already enlightened state of being.

to be honest with you im not sure. the scars on me are not raised up high. i didnt develop large keloids and neither has my girl friend and she has no problem shaving her legs.

Branding is practically the same thing except that people that get branded get it done in one step as opposed to people who get scarifications that get it done one peice at a time. Erm, scarification is pretty dumb. I've changed my mind on branding too as it's difficult to pull off. I stand by my opinion though... this isn't artistic, it's dumb. Also... all the people that got tattoos in the past few years after watching LA Ink/ Miami Ink etc... are gonna look real dumb soon.
