Just seen the MGTF LE500 at the MGfest 08 and had one on the wish list until I sat in it. As I'm 6ft I cannot read the top quarter of the dials, the instrument pod slops down rather than up and the cowling obscures part of the dials from my line of vision. Tried a Rover MGTF and have no issue seeing the top of the dials. Has anyone else had an issue reading the dials?
They definately made the right decision keeping the union jacks on the back. If they removed them, it is my opinion that the British connection would weaken.
I'd buy one, hopefully a TF LE500, but they may have sold them before I can afford it! I saw a report saying £20,000. Bad idea, if it was 15/16 thats more like it.
How about bringing back the 1.6? They could source engines from other companies such as ford to remove the concerns about the head gaskets. MX-5 owners would convert!
That problem was solved a long time ago but the powers that be didn't want to release it until K2 came on stream - K2 was supposed to have had an enlarged bore in order to make the 2.0 litre capacity. Wouldn't mind seeing on with the new G-series diesel in there mind...
I can appreciate people may want a diesel, and actually, it would be the first small convertible with a diesel engine - would look good!
However, diesel isnt as good as people think - look at the difference in price. I wouldn't buy a diesel, but Im sure many would. I may wait until next summer, or even the summer after just to make sure, but I really want one, especially in orange. Still, watch out Mazda - the best is back!
That's the name given by SAIC, but at the time of development the re-jigged block was referred to as K2 - as well as featuring the improved oil-rail, MLS gasket and PRT thermostat, Euro 4 emissions was achieved and a new set of semi-auto boxes were being tested. It's a pity they were never given enough money to really go to town. As far as I understand it - under Chinese control they have - They've even been able to use new materials.
Good Good, nice looking, although it is a facelife for an old mordel. I hope they can put on a more powerful engine on it. Saide 200 bhp+. And I hope the successor of TF is on its way, too. 4/5 (the 5th star was denied because of no new test run footage in this video ==#)
I bought one, what a waste of money. I'm embarrased to have had faith in the longbridge workers, they let me down big time.

So what about all the MGs from Abingdon over the years, not real MGs as they don't come from the Austin factory? Get a grip.

NAIC need to invest in the development of new products, this car is ancient now and desperately needs replacing.

they have solved the headgasket problem by puting a 5 layer gasket and revised oil rails and there is now more bhp.
hamster639 3 years ago
