@MizzShady this is incorrect. The first Black slave was one of 3 indentured servants who ran away. 2 of the people had the length of their servitude extended a few years, and the 3rd, a man, had his extended for life.

@MizzShady Those were called indentured servants (the white slaves). They were brought over on boats from Europe and had to pay their bounty back to the owner by working as slaves (indentured servants is really the correct term) since they chose on their own to do it.
