Maybe u misunderstood me. When I said "good ear for selecting beats" in my prev. comment, I was referring to choosing already-existing beats for his mixtapes. He has good taste, & he chooses beats that compliment his flow.
Shook Ones pt. 2 is my fav hip hop track of all time (& I've listened to alot of hip-hop).

I must say Hot Spitta has EXCELLENT beat selection on his mixtapes. This nigga be picking beats I would pick myself if I was rapp'n lol.
Silky-smooth flow, good ear for selecting beats...for reals, his mixtapes are album-quality imo, esp. "Life At 30,000 Feet".
