  • Honestly, I don't think about FFVII all that much. But damn every time I hear it's music I get rushed back to all the memories of playing this game and remember what a fun ride that was.

  • I describe this the same way I describe The Brave Little Toaster.

    Timid, but kind.

  • I wish I could see Areis get slaughtered by Sephiroth again for the first time... Rarely have I laughed so happily and surprised. Good Times.

  • @Joernboy I think you misunderstood the significance of that scene, or you a bad troll.

  • @boose22 Neither, I just hated her blatant slutty and shallow attitude. Her death honestly gave me a warm, rewarding feeling. In an entirely sadistic fashion, of course, but that is not a bad thing.

  • @Joernboy Could you explain what makes her so slutty and shallow? Also, for the record, being slutty and shallow isn't a bad thing.

  • @tttc So? Raping children isn't a bad thing either.

  • @kapsi I think you missed the point. Read the comment I replied to.

  • Omg so nostalgic :(

  • i remember how disappointed i was with FFVIII, how was FFVII just so good

  • Such a fascinating universe in that little shiny box that stood in front of me so many years ago... It's not only about the game, but about the whole childhood memories this music brings back. It's impossible not to feel a nostalgia-stomach tickle or a knot in your throat while listening to this

  • Ah, good to see this one made it in here. This is my absolute favorite from the game. The song that, as it's stated above, twists - tears - you up and not only makes you wish for the first time you played the game, but makes you wish it was a time you had actually experienced. This is how I expect to feel when walking over that first hill, away from everything I know.

  • One of the most memorable songs from the game for me. Running on that railroad track on the way to Corel with this playing in the background. What an epic journey it was =)

  • Missing the old days...

  • I had to stop this song 30 seconds in because I got hit with the biggest case of nostalgia ever. In a split second i thought of my entire childhood of video gaming came back to me with this one song.

  • @heyiliketurtles I know, right? Nothing like a fantastic Uematsu theme to make you reminisce, huh?

  • Man, I wish I could be runnin' across them railroad tracks right now~ T.T Good fuckin' times, man~~

  • Never mind just found out

  • Where did you get that picture?

  • Wow, just wow. This song makes me feel so sad, yet painfully nostalgic. FF7 is certainly one of the greatest videogames ever made.

  • To be honest I never got tired of this song...I wish this had been the overworld theme instead...When I first got out of Midgar and heard this song I thought "OOOH so nice I hope this is the overworld theme....then it was a different version of Tifa's theme and I was like F^CK!!! That said I LOVE this theme....and as much as I love it more than the overworld theme, the Overworld theme is nice too.

Who else put Tifa and Aeris in your party right off the bat LOL I replaced Aeris with Yuffie tho

  • 3 people never left Midgar

  • This song was very poignant to me. FF7 was my first Final Fantasy. In fact, it was my first RPG. I thought that all the things I had done in Midgar was epic, so when I left Midgar, this song perfectly captured my sense of wonder and curiosity at what the rest of the game had to offer. Being blown away at what I had just experienced, and not expecting the even more wonderful experience that was to come.

  • it's so sad yet tranquil

  • I wish I was in the world map right now hahahha. Leaving Midgar and entering Kalm was just awesome.

  • Will never forget this music, it was just after you finished midgar and climbed down onto the outside world. one adventrue finished and the bigger one on the horizon, everyone not sure what they should do now that they're out.

This song just summed up that moment of absolute freedom where you could choose to do anything

  • @trashedscatter OMFG I love meeting people who feel the same way i do... I wish i could return to my childhood where i had all the time in the world to be lazy and play this non-stop :L

  • I liked how everyone had a tragic past in this game and worked together to fight it off, even sephiroth. sry sephy fans lol!

  • This music is so beautiful!!

  • I feel lucky to have never played this game, so that I can experience it for the first time as soon as I can get round to it.

  • @campae710 Aye, I hadn't played it until about two years ago. Years after that first-time charm had already won over so many people, I experienced hours of pure awesome that I would never experience the same way again. Now I wish I was in your position. On one hand, I recommend that you stay there to preserve that innocence. On the flip side, PLAY IT! It's so good that it's worth losing that initial thrill to have the experience.

  • @campae710 same here

  • Anyone else think the part at 1:30 sounds like Alice Cooper - School's Out for Summer?

  • At 1:30 to 1: 55 the nostalgia just floors me. Marvelous tune - brings me all the way back to middle school...

  • I didn't play Final Fantasy VII when it came out...I got it last year, after playing Crisis Core and wanting to experience the game in full, original content. Even though I knew what happened and nothing was really spoilerific, when Cloud and co. were travelling to Corel and this played....I just felt something. I don't know if it was nostalgia or not, because I'd never played it when it came out and it was a new experience...but it FELT like it! I love FFVII dearly for that. :)

  • @Hahligirl56 That was so deep.

  • can any1 give me the dl link of this song? @.@

i really had the same feeling like u

once hear this song again feeled like wanna go back to the past

i hope i have this game once again

  • beautiful...

  • This was the first Final Fantasy song I ever heard. When I played the demo in 1998 It started off on the path to Barret's hometown. Those tunes changed me; they changed everything...

And who are the 3 cunts who thumbed this video down?!

  • yeah, it's definitely Marlene

OMG, it really brings back the memories...*sniff*

I really do want to play this game for the first time again :(

    such an amazing game

  • Nostalgia overload, holy cow... I mean all the feelings of being a kid come back when you hear this.

  • When I heard this song, I just knew a great adventure was about to begin, and boy was I right. Question: What's Barret holding in the picture? Something brown and pink it looks like.

  • @MasterBelmont I've always wondered that too....I think it's his daughter that's on his shoulder...

  • @MasterBelmont

    It's marlene, his daughter.

  • @MasterBelmont He's holding Marlene, I think.

  • the musics in this game are outstanding like the game itself even in the trasintion between the 2d for the 3d they impressed even with a midi like tunes

  • The fact that this is a peaceful FF comments section shows just how powerful this music is. So beautiful.

  • Did anyone else think that on the FF cover (before playing it), think that the building was a "HUGE MACHINE and that blonde dude is crazay!"?

  • I kinda did. I thought, "Why is he going to challenge that by himself?" Then, I read the manual.

  • AWESOME! I will at least be nice in this comment section and.. +1

  • Why is it negative ratings? I thought it was mind blowing!

  • I remember playing this game.. when I was younger.. I was crazy for this game.. It was just that awesome, and the music is just that great.. if only i could go back in time....

  • i remmber being a little kid and seeing final fantasy VII at blockbuster. My dad then taught me how to read roman numerals. I then rented the game....for like 5 weeks until he just bought me the game. He figured i would beat it quickly as i did other games, he had no idea i would play like crazy and have such an influence on my life

  • Wow, some people played this game when they were little, even me. Nobody cared about age ratings that much back then. Like, literally.

There's some stuff in Ocarina of Time like the Well and Shadow Temple that's pretty messed up, and the first Wild Arms was K-A but now the rest of the series is T.

  • Wow, no bad comments on this vid, and some of them are ranked pretty good. :)

It must be this song. ^^ It's magical! :D

  • I love simple-hearted songs like this

  • Goose bumps :O, Just exiting Midgard after that hellhole Midgard and just thinking, "Omfg, don't wanna go back!." *rise fist in anger at Midgard*

  • Man, this song struck me hard as i started it up. goose bumps all over.

Hope i could relive the time i played FF7 for the first time again :'(

  • I remember how gritty and disgusting everything was. It's like the whole game was without hope. Then all of a sudden, I'm peering out of a glass wall at the beautiful world outside and hearing this song. I just sat at the wall for 10 minutes and listened to it. It was such a shock, like a rose growing out of dirt. I'm not even that big of a fan of this game, but this was incredible.

  • Such a great game

    Music is just AWSOME

  • THIS BRING ME GREAT MEMORIES

  • my gosh

  • dno

  • Two words: Leaving Midgar. Thats what I think of when I hear this song. I remember being in third grade playing it and beating Midgar. Then you realize just how small of a dot midgar is and you just go, "Damn... I'm kind of afraid to see what else is out there." But you move on anyways because its the only way to go.

  • Brilliant comment, you summed it up perfectly, ADK. It's what I always think of too - hopping down off that road down the long chain and getting ready for the long haul across the world. Fantastic, brings back a lot of memories.

  • Oh, no, you're making me want to replay the game =P So true!

  • Exactly... exactly. I mean, damn, you just read my mind. I always thought that the whole game was going to revolve around Midgar and Shinra. But as you progress into the game you realize there's plenty of other stuff in it to.

I tip my hat for you, sir.

  • That part always scares me...D: Then at the same time I'm glad, because the chain of bosses finally stopped, and I got to save..! I'm always an obsessive game-saver...every ten minutes I save...

  • Where's Barret's head?

  • You can see its haircut there... behind the jacket's upper part

  • This song always reminds me of the path to Corel. The chick and the treasure, opening the bridge, the guy in the cave with nothing but his trailer who has pretty much given up on everything...love this game.

  • Sector 7 destroyed....Biggs, Wedge, Jesse....after that Shinra gets killed then FF7 truly begins but still this song makes me remember many things of FF7.

  • Love it!

  • I remember this song because Midgar was so Sprawling, I was convinced that the entire game would take place in it. Then BAM! Welcome to the wide-open world; and this music ushered you in. Probably the most fun I've had with a video game.

  • My thoughts were definitely the same.

  • My childhood is filled with that notion. Glory be to FFVII.

  • this reminds me of the good ol' times spending hours leveling up

  • man...just thinking back to my first mission w/ barret, jesse and the rest of the crew! x'o

    -LokiHeart

  • This song brings al lot of memories back. they epecially remind me the flashbacks of cloud and tifa in their childhood... and of course its the music of the worldmap :) .Awesome game!!

  • I remember seeing commercials for this game when I was 8. I worked my ass off doing odd jobs and finally bought a ps1 with ff7 in 1998. I still have it to this day! Case is kinda broken though, but the disks work!

  • Ahhh the memories. I remember this song so well... *Sigh*

  • Oh :D So any Memories About FF7 :D I'm Glad I Still Have FF7 :) FF7 Is Best! And The Songs Are Awsome! :)

  • "This is one of those songs that twists up your stomach, and makes you wish you were back in time playing the game for the first time"

    Agreed with trashedscatter

  • I'm so glad I was born in 1989. I didn't miss out on the magic of games like this one.

  • With such amazing tunes from Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger, it's easy for them to somewhat dominate your list. I love your choices, but I do think it's important to have as many different games represented as possible.

  • He does an excellent job of doing so.

  • Ah this song.

    So many memories.

  • Wow. I agree with trashedscatter.

    Such nostalgia.

  • This is one of those songs that twists up your stomach, and makes you wish you were back in time playing the game for the first time.

  • @trashedscatter Well said. I remember i was in love with a girl, i save this in mid format. i send to that girl. but she rejected. ......

  • @astraltkd probably, she was a ridiculous girl

  • @trashedscatter and trapped in a world, where all there was, was playing this game, forever

  • @trashedscatter Couldn't have said it better

  • @trashedscatter i think it too

  • @trashedscatter I was goin to upvote ur comment, then I realized that 99 it's just such a wonderful number that it should stay that way forever...

  • @trashedscatter so true, I still get all teary when listening to this song lol.

  • @trashedscatter I believe you actually wish you could be part of it. It may sound bizarre, but don't you with you could be there, somehow ? That's my feelings mixed with my childhood memories (when i first played FF7) =p

  • @trashedscatter

PERFECT description of the feeling of this song.

  • @trashedscatter That's the main reason why I don't want a remake. SE will probably find a way to turn it into an emofest with everybody doing cheesy anime poses with annoying high-pitched voices and a convulted plot no one cares about.

  • @EightySix22 That is oddly insulting, you know that? Not all anime people have a high pitched voice, and they already have voice actors for the main people. Don't insult SE because of stereotypes. And I don't think people ever use cheesy anime poses anymore, unless it's for comedy. As for plot... What is Final Fantasy known for?

Are... Are you a hater? o.O

  • @noobpwnager No sir. Anime tend to have very good storylines but poor dialogues. A very complex story often featuring protagonists who enjoy listening to the sound of their own voices: that's pretty much my main complain. At least, for everything I've come across so far. Feel free to suggest a few good titles you think I should watch.

  • @EightySix22 Well, I don't know what kind of anime you like and I don't know much good anime. And in my opinion, final fantasy has a better story than most anime.(except those after FFX)

  • @trashedscatter Hopefully at the end of this month I can actually be playing FFVII for the first time.

  • Just don't step on the flowers.

  • amazing tune, so calming and beautiful.

  • I remember this 10 years ago. I feel old now. Dammit.

  • Me tto although i am just.........YUPP i am odd now.

  • ugh this makes me want to play it...again...damnit lol

  • Eh, I really like Great Northern Cave. Kinda creates this apocalyptically glum feeling. And it seems this song switched mood at...the 0:21 mark. Weird.

  • Yea its really epic and cossie :) makes me sad and happy both

  • This is so epic
