The Congress passes bills, but the President proposes the budgets. Republicans controlled the Congress for 14 years, and with Bush they destroyed the economy. They lost in 2006, and started blaming Democrats for everything. This is nonsense.

Clinton's deficit work was primarily lead by repblicans who have since turned their backs on their principles. Bush was a screw up, but the seeds for many of the problems your country faces lie at both parties for various reasons. Only a fool picks a side without knowing what the two sides battle over and if its worth it. If they can mitigate inflation you may survive intact, but honestly, I just don't see how they will. The Congress passes bills, but the President proposes the budgets. Republicans controlled the Congress for 14 years, and with Bush they destroyed the economy. They lost in 2006, and started blaming Democrats for everything. This is nonsense.
The Democrats did win control of Congress in 2006, but Bush vetoed everything, and Dems didn't have enough votes to override it. Now, Obama is president, and Repubs are trying to blame Dems, hoping we are all too dumb to understand.

The Dems held their own for those two years. Their strategy was to let the Republicans have as much rope as they wanted because they knew that the R's would eventually hang themselves. Simple as that. They also knew that the public would continue to swing to the Dem side, and that they stood to make major gains in the Senate in the 08 election. It was a smart strategy, but was not without risks. For example, people are still, today, blaming them for all bad things occurring during that time.

There is no network, newspaper, or other broadcast media that doesn't have a bias. The only disservice they do us is to make it subtle enough that some people/most people can't see it. Some are more subtle than others. We'll all be better off when the masquerade of "unbiased" news is over, and everybody realizes that political biases are ubiquitous.
