These anti-union folks need to remember why we had a Labor Movement in the first place----the excessive greed/inhumanity/ego of the corporate elites, who think they can buy their way out of the Golden Rule(taught by the Jesus you supposedly worship, you hypocitical warmongering death penaltying poor screwing rightie reprobates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Unions are only concerned that they won't have as much money to donate to their political campaigns. They don't care about the workers, they only care about the select few at the top that continue to get paid rediculous amounts of money. Also, if they are not doin their job, (ie state workers taking naps in their cars while on the job), they SHOULD lose their job. They shouldn't get to keep their job, paid for by tax payers, just because they are in a union. How can anyone side with unions?
I have respect for Dennis Kucinich as a politician that speaks out for what he believes in, however I completely disagree with him. Every state that is unionized is losing jobs and residents in droves. He mentioned Michigan, which is not a good example for him, that's an example of the Unions getting to big and jobs leaving the state. Michigan is a ghost state as a result. If someone wants to be in a union that should have that choice, not be forced.
Thank you Congressman Kucinich for speaking truth about what is ailing the country. Given some of the comments below, not only do we have to fight the corporate dogma, we will also have to battle with the high illiteracy of uneducated Americans that are willing to support a political party, such as the republican party, that does not have their economic or political interests in mind.
I disagree with public unionism in the way that it exists in this country, so naturally, I disagree with Kucinich here, but g-damn - this mofo can give a speech! I really have a lot of respect for Kucinich. Him and Ron Paul are the only two honest politicians this country has left! Ohio you all better FIGHT to keep this man as an elected representative when the maps are redrawn to try and do away with him next cycle. You better fight!
Here's why I think there should be a Kucinich 2012 campaign: If he had been elected president in 2008, WE WOULD BE OUT of IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN BY LAST YEAR! We would have a green jobs program that would be financed by the money we used to subsidize oil companies with, and staffed by many of the returning veterans who will need jobs when they come home, and We would no longer be allowing wholesale outsourcing of American jobs and the off shoring of american wealth!
Wow! Fantastic. Speech of the young century so far. Can we take him to Canada to replace Prime Minister Harper? We will return him in time for your next election.

Obama is apparently more interested in making basketball picks than speaking out for America's workers and what is happening around the country. Why is Obama acting the coward by not coming to Madison? What is wrong with Obama? Is he so afraid of making his corporate money men mad that he's more interested in making sure the people know who he likes in a basketball tournament than to let people know where he stands on worker's rights? Is it time we get a President who care's about the people?
In both 2004 and 2008, I had friends who vote Democrat telling me I wasted my vote when I voted for DK. I remember watching "debates" in which DK, Sharpton, etc were ignored so Hillary and Obama could put on the the "show". I protested several times against the wars only to see each crowd get smaller and smaller, whittled down to the Code Pinks, Greens and Veterans against War gang. The Dems folded. Cowards! So here you are, endless war and total corporate control. Revolution NOW or never.
I trust his outrage. Kucinich's clear challenge of the current war-oriented paradigm is the challenge that has been building for 2 decades now After seeing the hope Obama inspired and rallied but did not deliver upon, I wonder if we are going to ban together again to get it done for real this time? Obama was just the appetiser. We are ready for the main course now.
I so frequently read comments asking why GOP candidates have been elected to office. Perhaps the answer goes back to computer-based voting using machines made and rigged by GOP-based corporations. Do you truly think you vote for anybody?
@Peaceisover I absolutely don't believe these BASTARDS are legally elected. I just don't. Relying on computer voting machines is as dumb as gambling on Casino computer machines. I think a lot of older people don't realize how computers actually work and that one line of code can do anything the author wants it to. It's ridiculous. Demanding paper votes should be priority number one and oversight that was real could be established..
Dennis Kucinich is the embodiment of all that is best in the idea of America. If the people of America can't follow the leadership which Kucinich represents then we will lose our freedoms. To fight for what Kucinich espouses is to fight for the right direction our nation needs go. Let's go America!!!! Where is Obama, where is Russ?
@demianhesse1 This is what Obama said while running : "If American workers are being denied their right to organize and collectively bargain when I'm in the White House, I'll put on a comfortable pair of shoes myself," Obama said at a speech in 2007. "I'll walk on that picket line with you as president of the United States of America because workers deserve to know that somebody is standing in their corner."
WHY PEOPLE HAVE ELECTED EVIL REPUBLICANS THEY ARE NOW OUT TO DESTROY WORKING AND MIDDLE CLASS PEOPLE, OUR SCHOOLS, OUR PUBLIC SERVICE, AND THE NATION.
@htgajjar Republicans are evil? Speak for yourself, Robespierre. Woodrow Wilson, a Democrat, signed the Federal Reserve Act into law in 1913, thereby privatizing the currency issuing power of our Treasury. Lyndon Johnson, a Democrat, escalated our involvment in Vietnam to the point of full-blown catastrophe and crushed any hope for a "Great Society". Does Bill Clinton count as a Republican or did NAFTA, welfare deform (TANF), and crap like Plan Colombia never happen? Does Obama get a pass too?
@PennsylvaniaRaven No Obama doesn't get a pass not from this Radical Democrat who didn't vote for him 2008. I understand your response. There is a tendency to group all Republicans together by some. Just as you are not a part of what the leadership of the Republicans are trying to do, I and many others in the Democratic party are against what our party has done over the years. You are right in all your criticisms although I'm pretty sure Robespierre was French. Let's focus on the real culprits.
