Really, they absolutely pushed the envelope. Everything you need from the more huge (and more expensive) Prosumer cameras, for under 1000 bucks. The best for indie filmmakers who need to stay on a budget but still wanna make movies that look like movies should look like and also be HD. "the closesd to perfect camera i've ever seen". Normaly i don't listen to companys words but in that case he's absolutely right. First choice in my opinion.

Yes, there is an external microphone connection that works great. It's not XLR, but a mini-plug. If your're using a hand microphone to do interviews, get a cable with XLR female to a stereo mini-plug. This camera is terrific!!!
