The most beautiful thing at this awesome scene is, that Harry and Hermine not more than friends, but they do dance like they're married. Absolutely perfect movie scene.^^
I wanna cry because it is all over.....what would i do???? It would be so empty and boring without Harry Potter....:( I guess JKR would come up with something new...I hope she does....
The imagery of the train is perfect. When Harry gets on the Express it's like the start of his life. Hogwarts is his home; it frees him from the Dursleys & shows him the life he was meant to have. It opens his eyes to happiness, friendship, magic, and love (like it did mine).
here's how i see it. hermione shouldn't have been with ron OR harry. nobody agrees with her getting with ron, including me, and i also feel that she and harry are best friends, nothing more. harry should've married luna, since they can relate to each other so well, hermione should have found some smart boy that can travel the world with her to study things, and ron could've found somebody else. these little crushes should not have ended up permanent.
@EllenCullen831 How about you write your own book filled with your little fantasies of Hermione marrying her exact copy, have harry marry someone who clearly slightly frightens him, and have ron be left out because you don't thikn he's important enough. Maybe you should add some mazes and humongous colouring pictures for the mental retards who would be stupid enough to read that book. :)
@HephaestusPrime i could if i wanted to (even though i don't. it was just an opinion) and why couldn't i? this whole "fantasy" of wizards running off to a magic school and fighting an evil Lord Voldemort is a little crazy too, but j.k. rowling went with it and is now a best seller. So don't just criticize people because they have ideas you don't like or haven't thought of yet. :)
and DarkHorizons26...Again not trying to get in a fight or make fun or bash your opinion or anything...but it doesn't really matter. So what if Harry and Hermione aren't together? You can't change that. Not only that, but why do you think Jk Rowling put the Harry and Hermione dancing in the book? She knew that some ppl would be dissapionted, so she made it seem like, for just one second, something more could develop between Harry and Hermione, to show how close they truly are.Come on, get over it.
@Dukerlovesyou123 Harry and Hermione didn't dance in the book at all. Harry knew that Hermione was sad and heard her cry but he just throw Ron blanket on her.
The dance scene was made for the movie only.
I'm a hard core Ron & Hermione shipper but I though the dance was a very sweet scene, it fit in how the Harry,Hermione and also Ron' characters are in the movies, which are quite different from the books..
@FAMKE4...and im just wondering...What were you talking about when you said something about Molly and an Easter Egg? I read that in the book, but I have no idea what point you were trying to get at.Just clarifying.
@Dukerlovesyou123 there are people who read between the lines and the ones who just read through the books... point is, ginny is relative to harry and had been obsessed with him even before she met him, ron abandoned his friends in the middle of nowhere, percy turned his back on his family, the twins were the only ones who seemed fine, charlie was never developed as a character and molly was awful to Molly more than once... this is my opinion and another is yours, deal with it
@FAMKE4... ummm yeah..I'm not trying to insault you but I think you are REALLY overanalyzing this. You too @DarkHorizons26......for example... how isGinny vile and nasty? What did she do?And Ron IS jealous in Deathly Hallows pt 1, becuase not only is his rage increasing because of wearing the Horcrux, but can you imagine how hard it must be to be friends with Harry? He always has all of the attention, and Ron is always pushed to the side.(not that I don't love Harry:)
JKR has basically ruined the whole story. It is obvious that HP and Hermoine would have made a great couple. Imagine this: it's only the two of them and they are travelling together, fighting all those bastards back to back and leaving no chance to them. A bloody mess, spells, dirt, screaming. Now that would have been cool. But it's JKR not Christopher Nolan and it's David Yates not Zach Snyder.
Honestly I don't see the attraction between Ron and Hermione, Harry and Hermione would be a better relationship but most of the time it's all friendship between all of them
i first heard this song on harry potter7. i fell in love with it as soon as i heard it. it's got some sort of bitterness in it. some hope as well. when i heard this, i felt as if i was watching a sunset on a rainy day.
i adore this song. it fits perfectly with what they were going through. they couldnt have a childhood, they had to grow up fast. "were older now the light is dim" is a verse in the song which goes with what i just said.
This scene was my favorite! And when part 1 was over, my friend I were the only ones in the theater crying. Somehow, I find it hard to believe that will be the case when part 2 is finally over. I just...I still have problems believing Harry Potter really is almost over (as I sit here and watch OOTP). I just wish Harry Potter would NEVER end and that the books and movies would just keep coming. I wouldn't say no to any Al stories! ♥
I have no idea what i'm going to do when part 2 come out. I dunno if I'm either gonna be happy that this whole thing- the books, the movies, the feeling- changed my life or on the theater floor crying my eyes out because it's all over.
@TheLuvinit07 I've seen part 2 about 4 times now...the first time I broke down and cried. A LOT. But overall, I'm happy and I always have to remind myself: harry potter will never end, even though the last book and film are out. If we all keep believing and telling people about this AMAZING story, then harry potter will always be the boy who lived in our hearts forever.
Now I'm 13(14 in few months) When I was in first grade Harry Potter first movie came out I loved it since I watched it still love it so much I grew up with it iIt gives me a special feeling................<3
@Death2RockwayMiddle Harry's parents died because there was a prophecy about Voldemort and an individual. The individual was either Neville Longbottom or Harry. And Voldemort acted on Harry because of his blood, Mum being born of a muggle family and Dad a wizard, Voldemort inteded to kill Harry but his mother dying for him gave him protection which meant Voldemort could not kill him
@Death2RockwayMiddle Harry Potter is a complex thing. Everything is interconnected. And even a question like this that might seem simple is difficult to answer if you really want to understand it. If you really want to, you have to read the books (yes all seven of them) ^^
@Death2RockwayMiddle A prophecy made by Professor Trelawney, the Divination teacher, predicted that a baby was the one who could destroy the Dark Lord. So basically, Voldemort went to Godric's Hollow to kill Harry Potter so he wouldn't destroy him. His parents were just in his way, I think, so he killed them before he got to Harry.
@Death2RockwayMiddle I can't remember correctly but it was because of a prophecy that scared Voldemort. Voldemort only wanted to kill Harry but his parents were in the way so out they went (they were also in the Order which was a resistance against him). The prophecy (seen in movie/book 5) said that only one of them could live while the other died and Voldemort didn't want to be the latter.
@Death2RockwayMiddle Voldemort killed his parents, becouse he tought that Harry will be stronger wizard then he is. So he tried to kill his parents and Harry, but he did not succeded. So Harry now must destroy all horkruxes, and when he does Voldemort can be killed. So..on the end of it,Harry finds out that he is the last horkrux and Voldemort have to kill Harry. Harry goes to Voldemort and he kill Harry, but Harry did not really died. Only horkrux did. And on the end,Voldemort dies.
@Death2RockwayMiddle If you don't like to read, watch the movies, though the books are way better. You are really missing something. The last movie comes out next month and there are 8 of them (if you didn't know already).
Good video. I have to say that the screenwriter is a Harmonian and does not try to hide it at all. The two relationships in the books are perfectly developed and they seem great for each other, but the films ruined the character of Ginny, turned Ron into a joke, made Hermione completely without a fault (where she is really very far from perfect) and Harry is bland. It is too bad the movies are not made with as much care as the books, then the relationships that are canon would be believable.
Ok half this commentators don't know the real deal cause they never did read the book . So they go assuming and jumping around " oooh i know all abt harry potter "
@ftrjiv If you were referring to me, I read all the books. In Spanish and English. I have also seen all the movies. I have also seen almost all the interviews with JKR. Just wanted to clarify.
The scene and song crushed me. It takes all my resolve not to bawl like a baby! JKR really should've written Harry and Hermione as a pair, not Ron and Hermione. Three parts in the movie killed me, all involving Hermione; dance scene with Harry (it seems how it should have been), obliviating her parents (really friggin sad), being tortured by Bellatrix (the screams and spasms of pain). Gonna really suck when the series comes to an end...
The dance scene was referred as a "what if" scene. Everything seems fine. Just watch the first four movie, it definitely seems Harry and hermione would be together, but nope, one red-headed messed up family had to ruin everything. I don't hate the weasleys but I'm not their biggest fan either...
Harry and Hermione just have too much chemistry not to be a couple. The dancing scene made me all teary-eyed. It was so sweet, and for one second I thought they would actually kiss or something, but Hermione just went back to being depressed and Harry was like "Oh well". How I wish they could of ended up into a couple. Harry is always looking out for her, comforting her, and is just a sweet gentleman-like guy.
@DarkHorizons26 well i have no problem lol and ron is not my favorite character for certain reasons, i don't hate him, but i think JKR could have made him a way better character after hp3...
@FAMKE4 I think the Weasleys have some personality issues. Like Ginny is just vile and nasty. Quoting a friend of mine "Ginny is a diseased bitch who needs to be put down." And I am sorry to say I agree with her. Ron, on the other hand, is a red-headed mass of envy and jealousy and one day, that's going to destroy him. JKR tried to make him "seem" okay, but when you really dissect some of his actions, at best, they're selfish.
@DarkHorizons26 i mostly agree, maybe we're over analyzing things but also, Molly, a grown woman had sent a tiny Easter Egg to Hermione when she thought that hr was playing between harry and victor and Molly was supposed to know hr after the years the girl had gotten into the Burrow, plus, Percy didn't turn out the best of people.. so almost half of the Weasley children have issues...
@FAMKE4 Yeah, which is why I shoot down the whole "but if Hermione marries Ron and Harry marries Ginny, they'll be one big happy family" theory. Because said family has caused Harry and Hermione much unneeded grief and you know what they say, you should avoid things that make you suffer. And I don't think we're over analyzing things, I think people are under analyzing things and ignoring bad things that the Weasleys have done to our favorite hero and his heroine.
@FAMKE4 Fred & George are cool! They are the most obviously mischievous and problematic - but they roll with it because its who they are. Ron is a reactive character - he may not be the *best* written character but think of how distracting from Harry it would be if he was. His merits are illustrated best by how he overcomes the adversity of being overlooked next to his best friend all the time, which makes him more flawed and interesting than Samwise Gamgee - especially when he comes through.
@FAMKE4 It's nice to see that people can discuss this without ripping out each others throats. :3 Everyone has their own favourite character/pairing and that's a good thing.
@FAMKE4 I agree that the Weasley children may have issues, but, I mean, who doesn't?? Harry has like, anger issues, a, Hermione I think is a little bit of a know-it-all, it's just a book, and I think JKR did a good job of showing teenagers the way they are, both the good qualities and the bad. . But Ginny might be a little more "strong" because she is the youngest of seven, and being the only girl, she might feel like she needs to prove something.
@browneyedramby Hi, FAMKE4 wasn't the one that said that they have issues. It was me. Yes, I agree with you to some degree. Harry does have temper issues, Hermione is bossy. But Ron and Ginny take it to a new level. Ron completely turns his back on Harry whenever Harry (accidentally) gains the attention of the public like in Goblet of Fire. He is jealous throughout the series to the point where he is completely unreliable. JKR desperately tried to fix Ron's character in DH, but it seemed forced.
I just wanted to say that I think most of Harry's hotheadedness come from Voldemort- the proof being how the locket made them all angry. In OOTP when Voldemort was back, Harry was angry LOADS and was having visions of Voldemort as well. Just my musings.
@browneyedramby As for Ginny, being the youngest sibling and the only girl does not justify her of her actions. Yes, it might be that she needs to prove something, but it does not give her the right to be mean and nasty to Ron, purposely going out of her way to damage his already fragile self-esteem. In fact, her temper and nastiness is so renown that it is said that the Quidditch team even fears her to some extent. Her upbringing also does not justify her obsession towards Harry Potter.
@DarkHorizons26 That's a disgusting comment to post on a video that kids are watching. Does it even cross your mind that these are children's books? We see a brief amount each character's actions and feelings. Ginny does nothing in the books that warrant calling her a "diseased bitch." If you don't like the way the books were written or the way the characters behave, then don't read them.
@lilypad145 Actually, Ginny does do things that warrant her being called that. For one, she had a disgusting attitude toward her brother. Doing everything in her power to demoralize him and lower his already low self-esteem. Also, her vile attitude is so notorious amongst the student population that she manages to intimidate many of the students. Her only redeeming quality is that she stands up for Luna.
@DarkHorizons26 If that's your standard, I'm surprised you read the books at all. You must hate Fred/George, because they tease Ron constantly, harass Ginny while she's possessed, and tease Percy until he leaves. Sirus encourages Harry to take risks that endanger others. Harry shuts out Hermione as much as Ron does in the 3rd book, yells at both in 5. Lupin lets them bully Snape, Dumbledore lets Snape bully Harry/Neville. No one is perfect; "we both have light and dark in us," as does Ginny.
@lilypad145 Fred/George only tease playfully. Ginny does it with malice, with the intention to harm Ron. No, I don't hate the rest of them, because they're not all malicious all the time. Ginny is almost exclusively malicious and when she's not malicious, she's unimportant. Everyone else you mentioned has redeeming qualities that make up for when they're mean or malicious. Ginny has almost none. That is why I dislike her so.
@DarkHorizons26 Maybe you dislike her so much because you feel you and Ginny are similar. You have made it clear that you are a stereotypical shipper. You are determined to disparage a character you didn't like in order to justify a ship. This is why the 'Harmione' ship causes so much distress in forums: people who tear down another character to build up one they prefer. It's called bullying. So then again, maybe you're more like Draco than Ginny, because she stood up for Luna and Harry.
@lilypad145 Um, what? Actually, with or without Harry and Hermione being together I would hate Ginny either way. This isn't about me shipping Harmony or not. If Hermione didn't exist, I would still hate Ginny. This all began when you said a comment of mine was "disgusting". I'm not disparaging Ginny BECAUSE of my ship, I'm disparaging her because of her personality. How am I a bully? Did I insult anyone who liked Ginny? No. I insulted the character, not anyone else.
@lilypad145 Please don't jump to the conclusion that I immediately hate Ginny in order to justify my ship, because that then means that you're proving yourself to be a stereotype. Most people think our reasoning for shipping Harmony is a hatred of Ron/Ginny which is not true in most cases. I actually am enjoying this discussion, by the way.
@DarkHorizons26 That's good! I do understand H/Hr shippers - it reminds me a lot of the Zutara shippers from Avatar: tLA. It's a realistic coupling, but the characters weren't written in a way that allow it . My opinion is: H doesn't need Hr the way Ron does, becuase Ron is weaker, and needs that mom figure. Harry prefers Ginny's fierce personality and her lack of tears. Hermione tried to talk him out of danger, but Ginny figured out how to help him do it (Umbridge's fire, fighting Voldy)
@lilypad145 First off, I deeply apologize if I have insulted you-or anyone else for that was not my intention at all. Second, I realize I let my temper get the best of me and for that I also apologize. Third, I am also a Zutara shipper and the characters were written explicitly for the purpose of being together but they changed it last minute. (Which doesn't make sense for a 15 year old to be with a 12 year old, but w/e)
@lilypad145 But Hermione's way would have saved Sirius and not gotten them in trouble with Umbridge, where Hermione ultimately saved the day. But anyways, I believe Hermione should not be with Ron and Harry with Ginny for many reasons. One of those reasons is that Ron, as I have stated before, is a red-headed mass of envy, jealousy, and low self-esteem, constantly insulting Hermione and making her feel like crap to bring her down to his level.
@lilypad145 Therefore, his sense of inferiority around Hermione is going to build up until he eventually lashes out and either physically hurts her or emotionally hurts her. And no, it is not unresolved sexual tension and no, his few compliments do not make up for her pain. Also, if you LOVE someone you don't need to read a book to tell you how to love them and you also don't do everything in your power to emotionally hurt them and insult them.
@DarkHorizons26 MY issue in fandom's are these two simple peeves:
1. Abuse of a character because of the ship they are in or interrupted, or the fact that the character didn't do whatever that person wanted (decided to stay behind, etc)
2. Hatred of an author becuase a book or series didn't end the way the reader wanted (angry at JK Rowling or Suzanne Collins over characters deaths they didn't like, ships, etc.)
I embrace all opinions, it is simply name calling and bashing I can't abide by. :<
@lilypad145 Addressing your problems with fandom, sometimes abuse of a character because of a ship goes hand in hand with the actual reason why they hate that ship. For example, sometimes you might hate a ship because said character is evil. To the second point, sometimes an author completely blatantly destroyed everything you liked about the series so you begin to hate them for ruining a good thing. Both things are okay with me as long as they don't get out of hand.
@DarkHorizons26 I do, however, concede that Rowling has apparently said that H/Hr would have possibly gotten together if Ron and Ginny had died in the war. And Ginny did almost get killed by Bellatrix, and Ron almost snuffed it during the the Post-ministry splinching incident. H and HR could have held each other through the nightmares.
@lilypad145 In regards to HarryxGinny, who is Ginny to Harry? Just some girl he saved 6 years previous and who probably harbors hero worship if she's had a crush on him for 6 years. (By the way, Harry detests hero worship) Ginny helps, I admit, but insignificantly. So she fought off Death Eaters, so have tons of people! But has she given up her EVERYTHING for Harry like Hermione has? No. Hermione gave up family, house, safety, all because he needed her help.
@lilypad145 Our problem isn't that the ship could have happened. IT'S THAT IT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED BUT DIDN'T. Could you believe our incredulity when we turn the page and read that Harry randomly woke up one day and decided he had an attraction to Ginny after 6 years of not noticing anything? Could you believe how we felt when Hermione married the boy who abused her incessantly for 7 years? Those weren't the characters we knew and loved.
@DarkHorizons26 Also, Fred turned Ron's teddy bear into a spider and tried to get him to make the unbreakable vow. They left Ron with a lifelong fear of spiders and could have killed him. They re the ones who tested their products on first-years that made the bleed, pass out, and the like. As much as I love the twins they can be deeply unkind. When Percy left Christmas dinner in HBP covered in parsnips, it was Ginny AND the twins who took credit for it.
@lilypad145 Okay, I concede to you on that. That is some pretty bad behavior. I really just don't like the Weasley's in general. But I see your point on this matter.
@lilypad145 No, just because you don't like the way something happened or the way characters behave doesn't mean you have to stop reading the books. You can choose to not accept their behavior. I am sorry if you see me as disgusting. That was not my intention. I was just expressing my opinion on a certain issue to someone who agreed with me.
@MasterFuckingYoda Okay, first of all, where the heck did you come from completely bashing me and FAMKE4's opinions? I never bashed your opinions and I never gave my opinions without some evidence to back me up. I don't believe what I "want" to believe, as you so eloquently put it. It was simply what I perceived from the interactions of the characters. If you'd like, I can gladly present evidence for all my arguments. I don't want to fight, just please respect my opinions, thank you.
@FAMKE4 By the way, I joined your website under the user name Veritas Vanitas and I posted quite a bit in the forum section if you want to check it out. ; )
It looked for all intensive purposes (in the movies) that harry and Hermione would get together. Ron is cool but I think Harry and Hermione have more chemistry and they should be together.
Everything Harry and Hermione have been through and all the pain and suffering he has been through you think she would of gotten together with him.
Thank God the director put the dance scene in the movie 'cause Harry and GInny's relationship is so illogical and haphazard, while Harry and Hermione's relationship is so perfect. They should have been together. I'm glad someone recognized that.
@unrox Like I think Ron isn't the best friend anyone could ever hope for and his jealousy will be his undoing one day, but that's not why I think Hermione and him shouldn't be together. The reason why I don't think Ron and Hermione work is because of their conflicting personalities. The only thing you're going to get out of that relationship is, at best, divorce and emotional trauma.
@DarkHorizons26: They didn't add this scene because they "saw that Harry and Hermione should be together." This was Harry trying to lighten the mood after Ron left.
@StephanieHorror Actually, the man who writes the scenes and the director himself, David Yates are both well-known HarryxHermione fans. That is the real reason that scene is in there.
@StephanieHorror If you want to believe (against all rational thought) that RonxHermione or HarryxGinny would work out as couples in the real world, that's fine. But not everyone thinks that way, like Mr. Yates and Mr. Kloves.

Hey little train! Wait for me!
I was held in chains but now I'm free....
Hey little train! We are all jumping on
The train that goes to the Kingdom
We're happy, Ma, we're having fun
It's beyond my wildest expectation
The imagery of the train is perfect. When Harry gets on the Express it's like the start of his life. Hogwarts is his home; it frees him from the Dursleys & shows him the life he was meant to have. It opens his eyes to happiness, friendship, magic, and love (like it did mine).

and DarkHorizons26...Again not trying to get in a fight or make fun or bash your opinion or anything...but it doesn't really matter.
Dukerlovesyou123 10 months ago

Dukerlovesyou123 10 months ago
@Dukerlovesyou123 there are people who read between the lines and the ones who just read through the books... point is, ginny is relative to harry and had been obsessed with him even before she met him, ron abandoned his friends in the middle of nowhere, percy turned his back on his family, the twins were the only ones who seemed fine, charlie was never developed as a character and molly was awful to Molly more than once... this is my opinion and another is yours, deal with it

@FAMKE4... ummm yeah..I'm not trying to insault you but I think you are REALLY overanalyzing this.

NoobTwinz5 1 year ago
@Death2RockwayMiddle I can't remember correctly but it was because of a prophecy that scared Voldemort. Voldemort only wanted to kill Harry but his parents were in the way so out they went (they were also in the Order which was a resistance against him). The prophecy (seen in movie/book 5) said that only one of them could live while the other died and Voldemort didn't want to be the latter.
SpiritArcher 1 year ago
@Death2RockwayMiddle Voldemort killed his parents, becouse he tought that Harry will be stronger wizard then he is. So he tried to kill his parents and Harry, but he did not succeded. So Harry now must destroy all horkruxes, and when he does Voldemort can be killed. So..on the end of it,Harry finds out that he is the last horkrux and Voldemort have to kill Harry. Harry goes to Voldemort and he kill Harry, but Harry did not really died. Only horkrux did. And on the end,Voldemort dies.

I've seen the movie twice.
And the dancing scene was absolutely moving!
Not in that romantic cheesy way- and I don't agree with you all about the Harry Hermione couple thing.
This scene is such a beautiful moment because it is about their friendship, which is deep and honest. It's the through good and bad times- thing.
And this song fits PERFECTLY!
wish I had such a good friend too!

Whil reading all books, I thought... Cmon JKR where is the kissing scence between Harry and Hermione but it has never come.
I think that Harry and Hermione could be a great couple. But I also think that Hermione and Ron are a great pair because of the big differences.
But somethings I don't like concerning the book.
It is "19 years later". Really. I am soo aggressive. This last part destroyed the whole feelings concerning the whole Harry Potter books, from 1-7.
I really like the movie.

*sigh* I love them together... <3

FAMKE4 1 year ago
@FAMKE4 I think the Weasleys have some personality issues. Like Ginny is just vile and nasty. Quoting a friend of mine "Ginny is a diseased bitch who needs to be put down." And I am sorry to say I agree with her. Ron, on the other hand, is a red-headed mass of envy and jealousy and one day, that's going to destroy him. JKR tried to make him "seem" okay, but when you really dissect some of his actions, at best, they're selfish.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 i mostly agree, maybe we're over analyzing things but also, Molly, a grown woman had sent a tiny Easter Egg to Hermione when she thought that hr was playing between harry and victor and Molly was supposed to know hr after the years the girl had gotten into the Burrow, plus, Percy didn't turn out the best of people.. so almost half of the Weasley children have issues...
FAMKE4 1 year ago

@FAMKE4 I agree that the Weasley children may have issues, but, I mean, who doesn't?? Harry has like, anger issues, a, Hermione I think is a little bit of a know-it-all, it's just a book, and I think JKR did a good job of showing teenagers the way they are, both the good qualities and the bad. . But Ginny might be a little more "strong" because she is the youngest of seven, and being the only girl, she might feel like she needs to prove something.
browneyedramby 1 year ago 2
@browneyedramby Hi, FAMKE4 wasn't the one that said that they have issues. It was me. Yes, I agree with you to some degree. Harry does have temper issues, Hermione is bossy. But Ron and Ginny take it to a new level. Ron completely turns his back on Harry whenever Harry (accidentally) gains the attention of the public like in Goblet of Fire. He is jealous throughout the series to the point where he is completely unreliable. JKR desperately tried to fix Ron's character in DH, but it seemed forced.
DarkHorizons26 11 months ago
@DarkHorizons26
I just wanted to say that I think most of Harry's hotheadedness come from Voldemort- the proof being how the locket made them all angry. In OOTP when Voldemort was back, Harry was angry LOADS and was having visions of Voldemort as well. Just my musings.
Loveisallyouneed73 10 months ago
@browneyedramby As for Ginny, being the youngest sibling and the only girl does not justify her of her actions. Yes, it might be that she needs to prove something, but it does not give her the right to be mean and nasty to Ron, purposely going out of her way to damage his already fragile self-esteem. In fact, her temper and nastiness is so renown that it is said that the Quidditch team even fears her to some extent. Her upbringing also does not justify her obsession towards Harry Potter.
DarkHorizons26 11 months ago
@DarkHorizons26 That's a disgusting comment to post on a video that kids are watching. Does it even cross your mind that these are children's books? We see a brief amount each character's actions and feelings. Ginny does nothing in the books that warrant calling her a "diseased bitch." If you don't like the way the books were written or the way the characters behave, then don't read them.
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Actually, Ginny does do things that warrant her being called that. For one, she had a disgusting attitude toward her brother. Doing everything in her power to demoralize him and lower his already low self-esteem. Also, her vile attitude is so notorious amongst the student population that she manages to intimidate many of the students. Her only redeeming quality is that she stands up for Luna.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 If that's your standard, I'm surprised you read the books at all. You must hate Fred/George, because they tease Ron constantly, harass Ginny while she's possessed, and tease Percy until he leaves. Sirus encourages Harry to take risks that endanger others. Harry shuts out Hermione as much as Ron does in the 3rd book, yells at both in 5. Lupin lets them bully Snape, Dumbledore lets Snape bully Harry/Neville. No one is perfect; "we both have light and dark in us," as does Ginny.
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Fred/George only tease playfully. Ginny does it with malice, with the intention to harm Ron. No, I don't hate the rest of them, because they're not all malicious all the time. Ginny is almost exclusively malicious and when she's not malicious, she's unimportant. Everyone else you mentioned has redeeming qualities that make up for when they're mean or malicious. Ginny has almost none. That is why I dislike her so.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 Maybe you dislike her so much because you feel you and Ginny are similar. You have made it clear that you are a stereotypical shipper. You are determined to disparage a character you didn't like in order to justify a ship. This is why the 'Harmione' ship causes so much distress in forums: people who tear down another character to build up one they prefer. It's called bullying. So then again, maybe you're more like Draco than Ginny, because she stood up for Luna and Harry.
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Um, what? Actually, with or without Harry and Hermione being together I would hate Ginny either way. This isn't about me shipping Harmony or not. If Hermione didn't exist, I would still hate Ginny. This all began when you said a comment of mine was "disgusting". I'm not disparaging Ginny BECAUSE of my ship, I'm disparaging her because of her personality. How am I a bully? Did I insult anyone who liked Ginny? No. I insulted the character, not anyone else.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Please don't jump to the conclusion that I immediately hate Ginny in order to justify my ship, because that then means that you're proving yourself to be a stereotype. Most people think our reasoning for shipping Harmony is a hatred of Ron/Ginny which is not true in most cases. I actually am enjoying this discussion, by the way.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 That's good! I do understand H/Hr shippers - it reminds me a lot of the Zutara shippers from Avatar: tLA. It's a realistic coupling, but the characters weren't written in a way that allow it . My opinion is: H doesn't need Hr the way Ron does, becuase Ron is weaker, and needs that mom figure. Harry prefers Ginny's fierce personality and her lack of tears. Hermione tried to talk him out of danger, but Ginny figured out how to help him do it (Umbridge's fire, fighting Voldy)
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 First off, I deeply apologize if I have insulted you-or anyone else for that was not my intention at all. Second, I realize I let my temper get the best of me and for that I also apologize. Third, I am also a Zutara shipper and the characters were written explicitly for the purpose of being together but they changed it last minute. (Which doesn't make sense for a 15 year old to be with a 12 year old, but w/e)
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@lilypad145 But Hermione's way would have saved Sirius and not gotten them in trouble with Umbridge, where Hermione ultimately saved the day. But anyways, I believe Hermione should not be with Ron and Harry with Ginny for many reasons. One of those reasons is that Ron, as I have stated before, is a red-headed mass of envy, jealousy, and low self-esteem, constantly insulting Hermione and making her feel like crap to bring her down to his level.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Therefore, his sense of inferiority around Hermione is going to build up until he eventually lashes out and either physically hurts her or emotionally hurts her. And no, it is not unresolved sexual tension and no, his few compliments do not make up for her pain. Also, if you LOVE someone you don't need to read a book to tell you how to love them and you also don't do everything in your power to emotionally hurt them and insult them.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 MY issue in fandom's are these two simple peeves:
1. Abuse of a character because of the ship they are in or interrupted, or the fact that the character didn't do whatever that person wanted (decided to stay behind, etc)
2. Hatred of an author becuase a book or series didn't end the way the reader wanted (angry at JK Rowling or Suzanne Collins over characters deaths they didn't like, ships, etc.)
I embrace all opinions, it is simply name calling and bashing I can't abide by. :<
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Addressing your problems with fandom, sometimes abuse of a character because of a ship goes hand in hand with the actual reason why they hate that ship. For example, sometimes you might hate a ship because said character is evil. To the second point, sometimes an author completely blatantly destroyed everything you liked about the series so you begin to hate them for ruining a good thing. Both things are okay with me as long as they don't get out of hand.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 I do, however, concede that Rowling has apparently said that H/Hr would have possibly gotten together if Ron and Ginny had died in the war. And Ginny did almost get killed by Bellatrix, and Ron almost snuffed it during the the Post-ministry splinching incident. H and HR could have held each other through the nightmares.
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 In regards to HarryxGinny, who is Ginny to Harry? Just some girl he saved 6 years previous and who probably harbors hero worship if she's had a crush on him for 6 years. (By the way, Harry detests hero worship) Ginny helps, I admit, but insignificantly. So she fought off Death Eaters, so have tons of people! But has she given up her EVERYTHING for Harry like Hermione has? No. Hermione gave up family, house, safety, all because he needed her help.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Our problem isn't that the ship could have happened. IT'S THAT IT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED BUT DIDN'T. Could you believe our incredulity when we turn the page and read that Harry randomly woke up one day and decided he had an attraction to Ginny after 6 years of not noticing anything? Could you believe how we felt when Hermione married the boy who abused her incessantly for 7 years? Those weren't the characters we knew and loved.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago 3
@lilypad145 I have many more reasons, but I doubt you want to hear all of them. =D
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26 Also, Fred turned Ron's teddy bear into a spider and tried to get him to make the unbreakable vow. They left Ron with a lifelong fear of spiders and could have killed him. They re the ones who tested their products on first-years that made the bleed, pass out, and the like. As much as I love the twins they can be deeply unkind. When Percy left Christmas dinner in HBP covered in parsnips, it was Ginny AND the twins who took credit for it.
lilypad145 1 year ago
@lilypad145 Okay, I concede to you on that. That is some pretty bad behavior. I really just don't like the Weasley's in general. But I see your point on this matter.
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@lilypad145 No, just because you don't like the way something happened or the way characters behave doesn't mean you have to stop reading the books. You can choose to not accept their behavior. unrox 1 year ago
DarkHorizons26 1 year ago
@DarkHorizons26: They didn't add this scene because they "saw that Harry and Hermione should be together." This was Harry trying to lighten the mood after Ron left.
