  • That was 23 seconds. not 15

  • I love Danny Kaye!

  • The first televised headbanging?

  • Everytime I see Mr. Kaye and Miss Piggy meet and talk, I have a huge smile on my face. :)

  • Did their hair grow substantially or was that just me?

  • Aquarius:

Man With Brown Hair: Jerry Nelson

Man With Gold Hair: Richard Hunt

Woman With Black Hair: Louise Gold

Man With White Hair: Steve Whitmire

  • Duck, Rowlf! Duck!

  • RIP Danny Kaye 1913-1987 He did the Movie White Christmas.

  • I am so happy that I grew up with the Muppets.

  • I LOVE this episode.

  • Thanks for putting this up. I loved Danny Kaye. The guys films were awesome! Some of you should check them out. The old films are great!

  • @blooberi800 and @mylovelydame21 The song is CALLED Aquarius/Let the sunshine in, but is from the musical Hair.

  • Danny Kaye did it all! From what I gathered, many entertainers had to do it all. I don't think many actors today can act sing and dance. I wonder if doing all that would better their craft,

  • 'Age of Aquarius'! Very sixties song. I sang this in high school chorus, and I remember how much fun the alto harmony was, and oh, listening to the tenors! Brings back great memories, even though the song is now passe.

  • 5:06 Lunchtime for who, I wonder.

  • @NaiTaiDai I wonder how they made it look like the construction worker was being eaten by the lunch box. I thought that act was kind of corny, myself.

  • @muppetfan33 Probably what they were going for.

  • wow miss piggy can really get angry

  • Don't know if you received my email re the biographies - I read both Nobody's Fool by Martin Gottfried (1994) which although not easy to read was the better of the two and The Secret Life of Danny Kaye by Michael Freedland (1985- DK was still alive) which gives some snippets of his homelife as well. Both were purchased on Amazon.

  • I echo your sentiments - great to have Youtube and fellow worshippers of Danny Kaye.

  • my point exactly. can you tell me which danny biographies you read? can you perhaps recommend something to me? haven't read any yet but i would love to.

  • @UTAStudios I'd second MsBedwell's recommendation of Gottfried's book - it's very good and fairly objective (which means he includes the gossip but lets the reader come to his/her own conclusions ^_^ ). What I liked most about the book is that he describes in detail how the 'Danny Kaye' act worked and how Kaye and his wife developed the stage/screen persona.

  • @spiderorchid81 Thank you very much for the suggestion. I already ordered the book online and can't wait to read it. I bought Gottfried's Nobody's Fool: The lives of Danny Kaye. Thank you so much again.

  • @UTAStudios You're welcome. Have fun reading! ^_^

  • Too right- just read two of his biographies and his stints at the London Palladium were incredible. In perspective of today's standards he would still be the world's top paid entertainer.

  • Yes, he trully is one of a kind. He had it all. Passion, charisma, charm, poise and incredible talent. What I also admire about him is that he didn't bend to the industry when they wanted him to get his nose operated. He's got incredible looks and will remain in my mind as the greatest entertainer of all time.

  • Wish we could see him again one day - perhaps we will ! He transcends 99% of what's on offer today.

  • Me too. I wish we could have seen him perform live. Wouldn't that be something right out of this world?

  • Omg, Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine in are my favorite songs ever!

  • And Rowlf ducks the punch.

  • Janice and Floyd win!

  • Goal!

  • I have hunted for this episode with Danny Kaye - you have made my year ! thank you so much.

  • @MsBedwell ; you have made my year as well! love u! and LOVE danny kaye.

  • Dancing Banana Peel!

  • that was funny and at 6:00 -- 6:01 it did a marvelous split, didn't it? hee hee.

  • The "Banana Split".

    lol

  • hmm.... janice and floyd heckling....nice change in pace

  • Wait... is that first song a tribute to Hair??? I LOVE IT!

  • Their hair grew!

  • @mylovelydame21 The first song is actually from Aquarius not Hair.

  • @mylovelydame21 yes it is
