Recording is not the best..but as for articulation, passion, and even freedom of expression while adhering to voice and intent of song and composer( did you catch the subtle harmonic and pedogogic changes/additions?) . I would sure like for anyone to give us a link to hear anything with more deliverence than Rodney Mills version.!
This Siviero interpretation is excellent and ranks abit above what I would give some of my favorite pianists on this peice!..Rubenstien, Lang Lang, Kissen..even Hoffman, all of which I give an 8+ or so (on a 1-10). Even after re-listening I would have to say the Rodney Mills interpretation is the most enthralling of randitions on youtube I have found(would give it about a 9+).
Yes, can you hear the difference? I feel this piece should have a bit heavier hand than most..particularly in the middle section. Also prefer keeping a better feel for the rhythim as well as hearing the full extent of the cadenza's.
I'm playing that piece and yes, at the middle fast part it is exctremely dangerus to mess it up strongly!!! ...BUT the first catenga played perfectly and that proof a lot!
Muito bom, mesmo.Ouviria mil vezes sem me cansar!!

who keeps on giving negative ranks on the comments? learn to play the piece and the composer himself before you do that.

I love this piece. One of my favourite pieces of Liszt! He plays it with such passion and makes it sound just how I like it.

Check out Rodney Mills on this piece. In my estimation captures abit more of the Lisztian feel to this piece.
