@dipojones Actually, Iran only has 1 refinery there, so we do export Gasoline to Iran. They do not have the ability make enough gas for their country so it is imported. @zederish Trust me, I'm not saying they support oppression. Even if this particular incident is staged, sanctions will continue to push people in the only direction they'll have left: an oppressor who appears strong against whoever imposes the sanctions.
People should support free trade and peace, instead of these sanctions and constant war rhetoric on the part of the west. Then the Iranian people will once again unite against their oppressor, just like every other people.

@mispistoleros Iranian government which has the Khamenei as the leader who choose Ahmadinejad for president. Ahmadinejad doesn't have much power but he is rather spokesman for the leader. This regime has group of thugs who funds them for pro regime protests and they are armed for crack down on anti government protests.
They have killed and tutored many Iranians after the election and no body is responsible for this thugs and they can kill and attack if the government is legally unable to do.

i'm familiar with the basij and read that many are orphans taken in when quite young, brainwashed into thinking of the basij as "family" and trained as attack dogs for the regime.
the green movement was organic and grassroots but got hijacked by western intel.

Anything to do with motivations, or anything that cannot be suficiently demonstrated through images alone (such as whether they actually ransacked the place or took hostages), will come across as pure speculation and should always be taken with a grain of salt.
