Distinctive artist and incredibly beautiful voice-- I had the pleasure of studying with Giorgio-- a maestro and a mensch! And in the true Italian lyric style he had a beautiful sound that expressed character and text. I find myself always telling my own students what Giorgio said: "Everyone told me I had a rich, dark voice-- and the brighter I sang the more they said it's rich and dark!" He said he learned a lot listening to lyric baritone John Charles Thomas. He studied with Rosa Raiza.
