I think movie maker has more dramatic effects on pictures, since you could use different fading effects on each pictures.

@jentinbien dvd make is mostly for burning the movie to dvd and adding menus. You can first edit in movie maker then burn with dvdmaker.

hey im having a different problem with my dvd maker. i got some new blank dvd's and i got a short clip to put on it. but every time i try to burn it to a disk i get an error. it starts encrypting and gets to 99.00% and then fails to burn to a disk. i checked my dvd drive and its working properly. im running windows 7 too. does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know why this DVD movie maker has these problems. Never had that problem on Nero.

Man I have a big problem here. When I burn to dvd the video has 4 black bars. Up and down and left and right. Any solution to fix this cause I know it pissing me off.

@HorrorSharkJAWS Try changing the aspect ratio to 16:9 in the options. If its not that its probably because of the resolution of the original video.

@bigjohnmedia I tried that and was already at a ratio of 16:9 and then tried if changing it to 4:6 ratio if it made any difference and still no. So maybe converting the video file to mpeg or something might help cause a few people told me it does.

I created a DVD and it plays on my P.C. just fine. But when I want to play it on my DVD player attached to my T.V., I get the message "Can not play disc" What am I doing wrong?

@oldkoloa could be a number of things. First make sure your dvd player can even play burned dvds(i bought a super cheap dvd player at walmart once that didnt play burned dvds so they are still out there). Next make sure that your options are correct in dvd maker (go to options on the bottom right and make sure the correct format is selected (NTSC if in the US), also might want to try a different dvd disc format (dvd-r is supposed to be more compatible)

@Tomek016PL try going to options on the botton right when you add video, click on compatibility and disable any filters. if thats not it it could just be the it doesnt work well with the videos original format.

@ivonneosunna you can add text to the menu on dvdmaker but to add text to the video you would need to edit the video, you can use moviemaker
