I'm going to settle this once and for all: WWE didn't ruin CM Punk. They've given him an ECW Title reign, a Money In the Bank win, and he's the champion on the top show, and that's not accounting for all the people he's beaten, like Booker T, Chris Jericho, Matt hardy, John Morrison, RVD etc. it's not WWE's fault that Punk got out of shape and that he changed up his ringstyle. Evan Bourne is still doing his Indy style, so why didn't punk do that instead of the boring MMA style?

Punk never 'got out of shape'. Look at him in his ROH/FIP days...the only thing that really changed was his attire.

As far as WWE ruining Punk, both the WWE and Punk himself have limited his moves. He won't do a Pepsi Plunge anymore due to it jacking his knees up. As for the change in style, he's toned down for the WWE style.

Look at his ROH stuff...he never was a flashy guy. The big knock against him on the indies was he worked a 'WWE-style' match instead of what others did.

He stopped using the Vise before wrestlemania last year, he first used the GTS on Johnny Nitro (now John Morrison) to qualifiy for the MITB at wrestlemania 23, he could still use the Vise if he wanted to, Vince asked him to use a move that lets him pin so he chose the GTS, he'll most likely use the Vise again considering it's more of a heel move, the GTS is more of a face move.

The running knee he does into the corner is a shining wizard variation. A lot of the moves he did on the indys are too dangerous to be used on guys that a global company builds around but in the case of not using the Pepsi Plunge, that was all Punk's choice.

Punk doesn't do the Anaconda Vice anymore because the trainers thought he needed more of an impact finisher. I wish he would picked something better than the GTS (it just doesn't seem all that cool when he does it to somebody like JBL)
