  • yeah and that's the biggest misconception, for Verizon it's $20/month. F that.

  • Could you do this using the HTC Inspire running 2.2.1 Froyo I tried to do the same thing and it said that I need to call ATT (611) or go online to this certain webpage! I thought it was free and I didnt have to pay for it!

  • @johnndreu Carriers make custom versions of Android. They can disable it if they want. You could root your device and install vanilla Android if you want.

  • No tethering options on my new G2 from T-mobile. Looks like they have it disabled. :( What a bunch of crap. On their site it says it's possible with the G2. What a lie.

  • does it cost extra, for tethering and mobile hotspot? I know it will use your bandwidth, but is it an extra feature? How are the data plans on this? For unlimited etc. And can that unlimited bandwidth be used with tethering/hotspot? Who carries this product?

  • what's the name of the other wireless tethering program you keep referring to?

  • does this work with macbooks?

  • @soofunnny it has to. at least the wifi hotspot.

  • @soofunnny yes it does

  • I love ASUS laptops.

  • I can't see form the video but is the wifi network os type adhoc or infrastructure? AP's are always in infrastructure mode. adhoc networks are in general not to great.

  • Great video! I hope that the iPhone will perform as easily as Android, and have nice fast speeds. Well done

  • i love my nexous one with 2.2 it works great

  • The problem is that these companies, as soon as they get their greedy hands on froyo, they'll make it to where you have to PAY to get that option, if it's already built into the phone why would we pay extra to use it? Can't wait until XDA get's a handle on this.
