This tube of "Little Queenie" has the best small club *sound* of any '60s recordings I've ever heard. There was one of "Carol" also from the same show I think, but it seems to have disappeared. This is the way I remember bands of the '60's sounding. Straight pure over driven fat tubes! The entire building would shake. Now that's rock! Ahhhhh...those were the days!
wtf this sucks im not a hater or anything this sounds so horrible like a garage band that blows. im trying to not be mean but. how can people like this?
@BIGGGY305 ....because it sounds like a garage band.... raw and ready, back home to where it all started.... listen to "road runner" by the pistols- same thing..... pure rock & roll...
Fellas! It was 43 years ago, (lol) find something else to mumble about instead of the cameraman. How about be glad that you live in a time period where you can LOG ON and by pressing a button watch classic clips and then upload them to your own MAC! Yikes
takes me back to Ricky Tik early 60s and Granada Cinema Greenford Middlesex UK, just released not fade away,1964 paid half a crown to get in,but top of the bill was John Leyton!!!
love to all , Sixties Pete,,thinkin of back then now want some purple hearts, but musnt
I always wonder who made cameramen like this a cameraman. This is filmed so very amateur like, you can´t see the focussed person accurate and it seems he stands in the middle of the crowd.
ok heres the deal. sure this version is on mandrax but on ya ya's this is a band that while at the top of their game can kick the shit out of a standard. there's a few , at most ,any?, interepret this song so well
@gittahfiend This is why Chuck Berry crucified Richards during the tribute he organised to his hero: Berry regarded him as a interloper who stole his sound and copied his technique. All charges he was guilty of, just listen to Starfucker for probably the best example. That said, he benefited hugely from Richards worship and emulation of him, so my sympathy is limited. In the end, the punter got a better deal because of it.
@dermotwalker Interesting comment. Berry is a complicated cat. On the one hand, all he cared about was the money so people like Richards and the Stones playing his music would have benefitted him greatly. On the other hand, Berry's ego won't let him forget that he did define the sound of rock n roll and he felt he was never given the credit due to him. Personally, Keef merely picked up the ball and ran with it. His unique interpretation of Berry is the best there is!
Unbelievable- they were never better than during their '69 tour- the Stones started speeding their songs up little by little on each successive tour and then they got old, added brass and background singers and became "The Rolling Stones Revue" :(
@80sbuttrock They were better in 1972 ( Jagger danced better / Mick Taylor played like god and they have their own song : Brown sugar , Loving cup , Bitch , All down the line ) . They made only 2 covers : Love in vain and Bye Bye johnny but they played it on an untouchable level ..

and Berry "stole" licks and that famous technique from another
Its "my music" is bull
sure you get credit for writing lyrics and music as well you should
but remember, tv and forms of media didnt exist pre 1960 the way they do now
The blues came from africa
that doesnt mean that every person with a direct African heritage gets comped
Richards gives Chuck ALL CREDIT
HE DOESNT OWE BERRY $ ANYMORE THAN THE JAPANESE DO FOR TAKING THE AUTO AND MAKING IT BETTER ( or germany etc)
